The mid-passage gap is an inevitable structure in a vane passage due to turbine vanes being manufactured *** coolant from this gap is able to prevent hot mainstream ingression and provide cooling protection for the endwall.A novel idea of enlarging the endwall’s coverage area and reducing the endwall’s thermal load by applying the mid-passage gap with variable surface angles is carried out in this *** endwall’s aerothermal and film cooling performances under four mid-passage gap modes at three typical mass flow ratio conditions are numerically *** indicate that under the traditional mid-passage mode,the coolant flows into the mainstream with a perpendicular incidence angle and can’t stick to the ***,cooling failure occurs,and the endwall’s thermal load is badly *** film cooling level at the suction-side endwall is improved when applying the mid-passage gap of a 45surface angle due to the seconda.y vortex being *** addition,when applying the mid-passage gap of a 135surface angle,the horseshoe vortex is pushed away,and the coverage area at the pressure-side endwall is enlarged *** best film cooling performance is achieved when the upstream surface angle is 135and the downstream surface angle is 45due to the adiabatic film cooling effectiveness being increased at both the pressure-and suction-side *** the mass flow ratio is 1.5%,the coverage area is enlarged by 43%,and the area-averaged adiabatic film cooling effectiveness is increased by 37%,when compared with those under the traditional mid-passage mode.

Urban roads can be designated as surface flood passages to transport excess runoff during extreme storms, thereby preventing local flooding, which is known as the major drainage system. However, this practice poses significant risks, including human loss and property da.age, due to the high flow rate and velocity carried by roads. Moreover, urban roads with low flood-resilience may significantly hamper the transportation function during severe storms, leading to dysfunction of the city. Therefore, there is an urgent need to transform risk-oriented flood passages into resilient urban road-based flood passages. This paper presents a systematic review of existing methodologies in designing a road network-based flood passage system, along with the discussion of new technologies to enhance system resilience. The study also addresses current knowledge gaps and future directions. The results indicate that flood management measures based on the urban road network should integrate accessibility assessment, lifeline and emergency planning to ensure human well-being outcomes. Furthermore, the special needs and features of vulnerable groups must be taken into serious consideration during the planning stage. In addition, a da.a-driven approach is recommended to facilitate real-time management and evaluate future works.

Recent results show that the differential properties within quadruples boom as a new inspiration in cryptanalysis of Advanced Encryption Standa.d(AES)-like constructions. These methods include the exchange attack proposed in Asiacrypt’19, the mixture differential attack proposed in To SC’18, etc., where the essential properties are obtained by manually scrutinizing the structures of the AES-like constructions. This paper presents a novel framework and an automatic tool based on mixed integer linear programming to search for mixture differential distinguishers for general constructions. This framework considers what equality patterns among quadruples can make a distinguisher and traces how the patterns propagate through cipher components with accurate probability *** this tool, a 5-round AES distinguishing attack with lower complexity and more 6-round distinguishing attacks in the chosen plaintext scenarios are deduced. We prove that no exchange-type or mixture differential distinguisher exists for 7 and above rounds AES if the details of the Sbox and Mix Columns matrix are not taken into account.

Solar-driven interfacial water evaporation(SIWE)offers a superb way to leverage concentrated solar heat to minimize energy dissipation during seawater *** also engenders overlapped temperaturesalinity gradient(TSG)between water-air interface and adjacent seawater,affording opportunities of harnessing ***,the efficiency of conventional SIWE technologies is limited by significant challenges,including salt passivation to hinder evaporation and difficulties in exploiting overlapped TSG ***,we report self-sustaining hybrid SIWE for not only sustainable seawater desalination but also efficient electricity generation from *** enables spontaneous circulation of salt flux upon seawater evaporation,inducing a self-cleaning evaporative interface without salt passivation for stable steam ***,this design enables spatial separation and simultaneous utilization of overlapped TSG to enhance electricity *** benefits render a remarkable efficiency of90.8%in solar energy utilization,manifesting in co-generation of solar steam at a fast rate of 2.01 kg m^(-2)-h^(-1)and electricity power of 1.91 W m^(-2)with high *** interfacing the hybrid SIWE with seawater electrolyzer constructs a system for water-electricity-hydrogen co-generation without external electricity *** produces hydrogen at a rapid rate of 1.29 L h^(-1)m^(-2)and freshwater with 22 times lower Na+concentration than the World Health Organization(WHO)threshold.

The complexity of river-tide interaction poses a significant challenge in predicting discharge in tida. *** short-term memory(LSTM)networks excel in processing and predicting crucial events with extended intervals and time delays in time series ***,the sequence-to-sequence(Seq2Seq)model,known for handling temporal relationships,ada.ting to variable-length sequences,effectively capturing historical information,and accommoda.ing various influencing factors,emerges as a robust and flexible tool in discharge *** this study,we introduce the application of LSTM-based Seq2Seq models for the first time in forecasting the discharge of a tida. reach of the Changjiang River(Yangtze River)*** study focuses on discharge forecasting using three key input characteristics:flow velocity,water level,and discharge,which means the structure of multiple input and single output is *** experiment used the discharge da.a of the whole year of 2020,of which the first 80%is used as the training set,and the last 20%is used as the test *** means that the da.a covers different tida. cycles,which helps to test the forecasting effect of different models in different tida. cycles and different *** experimental results indicate that the proposed models demonstrate advantages in long-term,mid-term,and short-term discharge *** Seq2Seq models improved by 6%-60%and 5%-20%of the relative standa.d deviation compared to the harmonic analysis models and improved back propagation neural network models in discharge prediction,*** addition,the relative accuracy of the Seq2Seq model is 1%to 3%higher than that of the LSTM *** assessment of the prediction errors shows that the Seq2Seq models are insensitive to the forecast lead time and they can capture characteristic values such as maximum flood tide flow and maximum ebb tide flow in the tida. cycle *** indicates the significance of the Seq2Seq models.

The ocean plays an important role in maintaining the equilibrium of Earth’s ecology and providing humans access to a wealth of *** obtain a high-precision underwater image classification model,we propose a classification model that combines an EfficientnetB0 neural network and a two-hidden-layer random vector functional link network(EfficientnetB0-TRVFL).The features of underwater images were extracted using the EfficientnetB0 neural network pretrained via ImageNet,and a new fully connected layer was trained on the underwater image da.aset using the transfer learning *** learning ensures the initial performance of the network and helps in the development of a high-precision classification ***,a TRVFL was proposed to improve the classification property of the *** construction of the two hidden layers exhibited a high accuracy when the same hidden layer nodes were *** parameters of the second hidden layer were obtained using a novel calculation method,which reduced the outcome error to improve the performance instability caused by the random generation of parameters of ***,the TRVFL classifier was used to classify features and obtain classification *** proposed EfficientnetB0-TRVFL classification model achieved 87.28%,74.06%,and 99.59%accuracy on the MLC2008,MLC2009,and Fish-gres da.asets,*** best convolutional neural networks and existing methods were stacked up through box plots and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests,*** increases imply improved systematization properties in underwater image classification *** image classification model offers important performance advantages and better stability compared with existing methods.

Physiological repair of large-sized bone defects requires instructive scaffolds with appropriate mechanical properties,biocompatibility,biodegrada.ility,vasculogenic ability and *** objective of this study was to fabricate in situ injectable hydrogels using platelet-rich plasma(PRP)-loaded gelatin methacrylate(GM)and employ them for the regeneration of large-sized bone *** performed various biological assays as well as assessed the mechanical properties of GM@PRP hydrogels alongside evaluating the release kinetics of growth factors(GFs)from *** GM@PRP hydrogels manifested sufficient mechanical properties to support the filling of the tissue *** biofunction assay,the GM@PRP hydrogels significantly improved cell migration and ***,transcriptome RNA sequencing of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and bone marrow-derived stem cells were performed to delineate vascularization and biomineralization abilities of GM@PRP *** GM@PRP hydrogels were subcutaneously implanted in rats for up to 4 weeks for preliminary biocompatibility followed by their transplantation into a tibial defect model for up to 8 weeks in *** defects treated with GM@PRP hydrogels manifested significant bone regeneration as well as angiogenesis,biomineralization,and collagen *** on the biocompatibility and biological function of GM@PRP hydrogels,a new strategy is provided for the regenerative repair of large-size bone defects.
