Pressure control in deep shale gas horizontal wells can reduce the stress sensitivity of hydraulic fractures and improve the estimated ultimate recovery(EUR).In this study,a hydraulic fracture stress sensitivity model is proposed to characterize the effect of pressure drop rate on fracture ***,a production prediction model is introduced accounting for a non-uniform hydraulic fracture conductivity *** results reveal that increasing the fracture conductivity leads to a rapid daily production increase in the early ***,above 0.50 D·cm,a further increase in the fracture conductivity has a limited effect on shale gas production *** initial production is lower under pressure-controlled conditions than that under *** extended pressure control durations,the cumulative production initially increases and then *** a fracture conductivity of 0.10 D·cm,the increase in production output under controlled-pressure conditions is~35%.For representative deep shale gas wells(Southern Sichuan,China),if the pressure drop rate under controlled-pressure conditions is reduced from 0.19 to 0.04 MPa/d,the EUR increase for 5 years of pressure-controlled production is 41.0 million,with an increase percentage of~29%.

Ultrastrong room-temperature phosphorescence in cucurbit[8]uril-mediated crystalline supramolecules for ratiometric detection of phenethylamine

It is a great challenge to modulate purely organic fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission in aqueous solution because the excited singlet and triplet states are in competition with each other. Herein, we report a crystalline 1:2 host-guest formed by selfassembly of 4-(4-bromophenyl)-pyridinium derivatives and cucurbit[8]uril, in which a rigid environment rich in weak interactions is directly demonstrated. Due to the inhibition of non-radiative transition and stabilization of triplet exciton in the crystalline environment, the crystalline inclusion complex exhibits ultralong room-temperature phosphorescence lifetime of 3.21 ms with an room-temperature phosphorescence(RTP) quantum yield up to 16.29%. Interestingly, the crystalline 1:2 hostguest complex demonstrates the ability of rapid identification and sensitive fluorescence-phosphorescence ratiometric detection behavior toward phenethylamine, a drug analogue, with a limit of detection as low as 27.5 nM. We believe that this study will undoubtedly broaden the utilizing scopes of RTP and offer a novel avenue for psychoactive substances monitoring.

Enhanced Boiling Heat Transfer in Water Pools with Perforated Copper Beads and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Surfactant

In modern engineering,enhancing boiling heat transfer efficiency is crucial for optimizing energy use and several industrial processes involving different types of *** study explores the enhancement of pool boiling heat transfer potentially induced by combining perforated copper particles on a heated surface with a sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)surfactant in saturated deionized *** were conducted at standard atmospheric pressure,with heat flux ranging from 20 to 100 kW/*** heating surface,positioned below the layer of freely moving copper beads,allowed the particle layer to shift due to liquid convection and steam *** study reports on the influence of copper bead diameter(2,3,4,and 5 mm),particle quantity,arrangement,and SDS concentration(20,200,and 500 ppm).It is shown that the combination of 5 mm particles and a 500 ppm SDS concentration can yield a remarkable 139%improvement in heat transfer *** demonstrated by direct flow visualization,bubble formation occurs primarily in the gaps between the particles and the heated surface,with the presence of SDS reducing bubble size and accelerating bubble detachment.

为减少滑坡灾害带来的损失,以湖南省常德市为例,基于野外调查和历史滑坡数据,将分形理论和信息量法应用于区域滑坡易发性评价。利用分形理论定量研究影响因子的敏感性,再进一步利用信息量法得到各二级影响因子的信息量值,通过综合分维值和信息量值得到综合信息量值,以此值对研究区进行易发性分区。结果表明:影响因子中的坡度、工程地质岩组、高程及植被等与滑坡呈二阶累计和分形分布,而其他影响因子与滑坡呈一阶累计和分形分布,通过其分维值,确定影响因子与滑坡之间的定量关系。极低、低、中、高、极高易发性区面积占比分别为5.24%、8.84%、35.06%、39.21%、11.65%,其中,年降雨量大于1600 mm、坡度20~30°和高程900~1100 m等影响因子为重要影响因子。

Investigation on removing recalcitrant toxic organic polluters in coking wastewater by forward osmosis

Investigation was made on the efficiency of two commercial membranes in removing via forward osmosis(FO)the low molecular weight organic compounds typical of coking wastewater. The membranes were supplied by Poten and HTI companies. The organics in the simulated coking water were indole and pyrridine. Under FO mode, the rejection to the organics by Poten membrane was around 50%, whereas that for HTI membrane was obviously higher, ranging from 65% to 74%. The response of the two membranes in terms of Water flux and reverse salt flux(RSF) towards changing feed/draw solution(DS) flow rates in FO mode showed similar tendency,but different degree. Generally, the flux in FO using HTI membranes was lower. For HTI membrane, FO operated with pressure retarded osmosis(PRO) mode was also performed and the overall rejection of the organics was slightly lower than that in FO mode. In the long term FO test within 15 days, both Poten and HTI membranes displayed flux reduction and rejection enhancement. But the variation with Poten membrane was much more obvious. Discussion was carried out about the reasons and the mechanisms behind the FO performance difference between two membranes and the variation in flux and rejection with operation conditions. Characterizations by SEM, FTIR, AFM, XRD and XPS were tried to support the proposed explanations.

Proceeding of Human Exoskeleton Technology and Discussions on Future Research

After more than half a century of intense efforts, the development of exoskeleton has seen major advances, and several remarkable achievements have been made. Reviews of developing history of exoskeleton are presented, both in active and passive categories. Major models are introduced, and typical technologies are commented on. Difficulties in control algorithm, driver system, power source, and man-machine interface are discussed. Current researching routes and major developing methods are mapped and critically analyzed, and in the process, some key problems are revealed. First, the exoskeleton is totally different from biped robot, and relative studies based on the robot technologies are considerably incorrect. Second, biomechanical studies are only used to track the motion of the human body, the interaction between human and machines are seldom studied. Third, the traditional developing ways which focused on servo-controlling have inborn deficiency from making portable systems. Research attention should be shifted to the human side of the coupling system, and the human ability to learn and adapt should play a more significant role in the control algorithms Having summarized the major difficulties, possible future works are discussed. It is argued that, since a distinct boundary cannot be drawn in such strong-coupling human-exoskeleton system, the more complex the control system gets, the more difficult it is for the user to learn to use. It is suggested that the exoskeleton should be treated as a simple wearable tool, and downgrading its automatic level may be a change toward a brighter research outlook. This effort at simplification is definitely not easy, as it necessitates theoretical supports from fields such as biomechanics, ergonomics, and bionics.
