A homogenized approach to classify advanced gastric cancer patients with limited and adequate number of pathologically examined lymph nodes

Background:The prognosis of gastric cancer patients with a limited number of pathologically examined lymph nodes(eLN,<16)is dismal compared to those with adequately eLN(≥16),yet they are still classified within the same subgroups using the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)staging *** aimed at formulating an easy-to-adopt and clinically reliable stratification approach to homogenize the classification for these two categories of ***:Patients staged according to the 8th AJCC pathological nodal(N)and tumor-node-metastasis(TNM)clas-sification were stratified into a Limited and Adequate eLN cohort based on their number of pathologically examined *** statistical differences between the 5-year overall survival(OS)rates of both cohorts were determined and based on which,patients from the Limited eLN cohort were re-classified to a proposed modified nodal(N′)and TNM(TN′M)classification,by matching their survival rates with those of the Adequate eLN *** prognostic perfor-mance of the N′and TN′M classification was then compared to a formulated lymph-node-ratio-based nodal classifica-tion,in addition to the 8th AJCC N and TNM ***:Significant heterogeneous differences in 5-year OS between patients from the Limited and Adequate eLN cohort of the same nodal subgroups were identified(all P<0.001).However,no significant differences in 5-year OS were observed between the subgroups N0,N1,N2,and N3a of the Limited eLN cohort when compared with N1,N2,N3a,and N3b from the Adequate eLN cohort,respectively(P=0.853,0.476,0.114,and 0.230,respectively).A novel approach was formulated in which only patients from the Limited eLN cohort were re-classified to one higher nodal subgroup,denoted as the N′*** re-classification demonstrated superior stratifying and prognostic ability as compared to the 8th AJCC N and lymph-node-ratio classification(Akaike information criterion values[AIC]:12,276 vs.12,358 vs.12,283,respectively).Th

Study on the physiological indices of Pinus sibirica and Pinus koraiensis seedlings under cold stress

Although Pinus sibirica and Pinus koraiensis are resistant to cold or low temperatures in the cold temperate regions of the northern hemisphere,the former has a stronger cold *** has been limited to the comparison of physiological responses of the two species to cold *** this study,5-year-old seedlings of *** and *** were subjected to six temperature treatments,[20℃(control),0℃,-20℃,-40℃,-60℃,and-80℃],under different stress periods(6,12,24,and 48 h).The results showed that differences in each physiological index were significant between *** and ***,except for the permeability of cell membranes,reactive oxygen species,proline and soluble *** ANOVA test indicated that there were extreme differences among the temperatures for each index,stress time and temperature 9 time for most *** indices showed a similar trend for *** and *** with decreasing temperature or the extension of stress *** sugars and proline increased at 0 to-20℃and then remained unchanged with temperature *** indices showed an increase from 20 to-20℃,stable from-20 to-40℃and a decrease from-40 to-80℃.All the indices increased and then declined along with the prolonged cold stress time,except for the *** 0 to-40℃,the permeability of cell membranes,relative conductivity,reactive oxygen species and malonaldehyde of *** seedlings were higher than in ***,but superoxide dismutase,peroxidase,catalase activity and soluble sugars,proline,and soluble proteins content emerged as *** study compared the physiological mechanism responses to cold stress between *** and *** to provide the basis for the introduction,distribution,and genetic improvement of these coniferous species.

为探讨截干强度对红松人工林结实的影响,2017年在通化县三棚林场19年生红松人工林内设置了4个截干强度(截干3轮枝、截干4轮枝、截干5轮枝,CK),2022年和2023年分别对所有处理下结实情况进行调查和分析。结果表明:截干后,红松结实株率、单株平均球果数量和产量与对照相比,均有显著增加(P<0.05),红松单个球果平均质量无明显变化。截干3轮枝时,红松结实株率最高,比CK提高了145.56%;截干5轮枝时,单株平均球果数量和产量最高,比CK分别提高了300.34%和468.04%。

应用ＩＲ和低温ＥＰＲ等方法研究了载体酸碱性对钒基催化剂丙烷氧化脱氢性能的影响。从ＶＳｎＯ、ＶＳｉＯ、ＶＴｉＯ、ＶＡｌＯ到ＶＭｇＯ，随着载体的碱性增强，丙烷转化率和丙烯选择性均提高，然而从ＶＭｇＯ、ＶＣａＯ、ＶＳ－ｒＯ到ＶＢａＯ，随着载体碱性的进一步增强，丙烯选择性仍提高，但丙烷转化率显著降低。这些结果表明，只有适度增强催化剂的碱性，才有利于生成Ｖ４＋离子，减少表面碳酸盐的生成，并缩短脱氢中间体在催化剂上的停留时间和促进丙烯的脱附，减少Ｃ－Ｃ键断裂和转化为ＣＯｘ的机会，从而有利于丙烷氧化脱氢生成丙烯。

On Solving a System of Volterra Integral Equations with Relaxed Monte Carlo Method

A random simulation method was used for treatment of systems of Volterra integral equations of the second kind. Firstly, a linear algebra system was obtained by discretization using quadrature formula. Secondly, this algebra system was solved by using relaxed Monte Carlo method with importance sampling and numerical approximation solutions of the integral equations system were achieved. It is theoretically proved that the validity of relaxed Monte Carlo method is based on importance sampling to solve the integral equations system. Finally, some numerical examples from literatures are given to show the efficiency of the method.

Broadband NIR absorber based on square lattice arrangement in metallic and dielectric state VO2

In this paper, ecosystem service value（ESV） valuation models is presented to serve the need of a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis. Environmental cost is subdivided into environmental degradation cost, and environmental mitigating cost. To quantify environmental degradation cost, Equivalent Factor Method（EFM） is employed to generate monetized ecosystem value. As for environmental mitigation cost, Life Cycle Cost Analysis is adopted to quantify negative environmental influence. Two models are applied on Ankang Airport Project to evaluate the projects’ true value. The presented model contains more comprehensive factors, hence better decisions can be made.

In this Letter, we propose a broadband near-infrared(NIR) absorber based on the phase transition material *** designing different arrangements of the VO2 square lattice at high and low temperatures on fused silica substrates, the absorption rate reaches more than 90% in the entire 1.4–2.4 μm range. Using a finite-difference time-domain simulation method and thermal field analysis, the results prove that the absorber is polarizationindependent and has wide-angle absorption for incident angles of 0°–70°. The proposed absorber has a smoother absorption curve and is superior in performance, and it has many application prospects in remote sensing geology.

目的探讨天麻素对大鼠急性心肌梗死(AMI)诱导的炎性反应的影响,并分析其作用机制。方法50只SD大鼠随机分为假手术(Sham)组、模型(AMI)组、天麻素低剂量(L-GAD)组、天麻素高剂量(H-GAD)组、卡托普利(CAP)组,每组10只。采用超声心动图检测大鼠心功能,TTC染色评估大鼠心肌梗死面积比,HE染色观察大鼠心肌组织病理形态学变化,ELISA法和qRT-PCR法分别检测大鼠血清及心肌组织中肿瘤坏死因子α(TNF-α)、白细胞介素-6(IL-6)、单核细胞趋化蛋白-1(MCP-1)含量及mRNA表达,Western blot法检测大鼠心肌组织中肌醇依赖性激酶1α(IRE1α)/肿瘤坏死因子受体相关因子2(TRAF2)/核因子(NF)-κB通路蛋白表达。结果与Sham组比较,AMI组大鼠心肌组织受损,存在明显心肌梗死,LVEF降低,LVDs和LVDd升高,血清和心肌组织中TNF-α、IL-6、MCP-1水平及mRNA表达升高,心肌组织中TRAF2蛋白表达量、p-IRE1α/IRE1α和p-p65/p65比值升高,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。与AMI组比较,L-GAD、H-GAD组和CAP组大鼠心肌组织损伤减轻,心肌梗死面积比减小,LVEF升高,LVDs和LVDd降低,血清和心肌组织中TNF-α、IL-6、MCP-1水平及mRNA表达降低,心肌组织中TRAF2蛋白表达量、p-IRE1α/IRE1α和p-p65/p65比值下降,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论天麻素可通过调控IRE1α/TRAF2/NF-κB通路减轻AMI大鼠心肌组织损伤及心肌梗死面积,改善大鼠心功能,抑制炎性反应。

Community-acquired pneumonia(CAP) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children *** this study,we aimed to describe the aetiology of viral infection of pediatric CAP in Chinese *** November2014 to June 2016,the prospective study was conducted in 13 *** hospitalized children under 18 years old who met the criteria for CAP were *** throat swabs or nasopharyngeal aspirates(NPAs) were collected which were then screened 18 respiratory viruses using multiplex PCR *** pathogens were present in 56.6%(1539/2721) of the enrolled cases,with the detection rate of single virus in 39.8% of the cases and multiple viruses in 16.8% of the *** most frequently detected virus was respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)(15.2%,414/2721).The highest detection rate of virus was in <6-month-age group(70.7%,292/413).RSV,human metapneumovirus(HMPV),human parainfluenza viruses(HPIVs) and influenza B virus(Flu B) showed the similar prevalence patterns both in north and south China,but HPIVs,Flu A,human bocavirus(HBoV),human adenovirus(HAdV) and human coronaviruses(HCoVs) showed the distinct circulating patterns in north and south *** enterovirus/human rhinovirus(HEV/HRV)(27.6%,27/98),HBoV(18.4%,18/98),RSV(16.3%,16/98) and HMPV(14.3%,14/98) were the most commonly detected viruses in severe pneumonia cases with single virus *** conclusion,viral pathogens are frequently detected in pediatric CAP cases and may therefore play a vital role in the aetiology of *** was the most important virus in hospitalized children with CAP in Chinese mainland.
