The timing of flowering is an important driver of species distribution and community assembly ***,we still have much to learn about the factors that shape flowering diversity(i.e.,number of species flowering per period) in plant *** potential explanation of flowering diversity is the mid-domain effect,which states that geometric constraints on species ranges within a bounded domain(space or time) will yield a mid-domain peak in diversity regardless of ecological ***,we determine whether the mid-domain effect explains peak flowering time(i.e.,when most species of communities are flowering) across *** used phenological data of 16,267 herbaceous and woody species from the provincial Flora in China and species distribution data from the Chinese Vascular Plant Distribution Database to determine relationships between the observed number of species flowering and the number of species flowering as predicted by the mid-domain effect model,as well as between three climatic variables(mean minimum monthly temperature,mean monthly precipitation,and mean monthly sunshine duration).We found that the mid-domain effect explained a significant proportion of the temporal variation in flowering diversity across all species in ***,the mid-domain effect explained a greater proportion of variance in flowering diversity at higher latitudes than at lower *** patterns of flowering diversity for both herbaceous and woody species were related to both the mid-domain effect and environmental *** findings indicate that including geometric constraints in conjunction with abiotic and biotic predictors will improve predictions of flowering diversity patterns.

Ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide repeat on chromosome X(UTX),also known as lysine(K)-specific demethylase 6A(KDM6A),functions as a tumor suppressor gene or oncogene depending on the tumor type and ***,its tumor-suppressive mechanisms remain largely ***,we investigated the clinical significance and biological effects of UTX expression in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDA)and determined the potential mechanisms of its *** expression and its association with clinicopathologic characteristics of PDA patients were analyzed using *** mRNA and protein expression and their regulation in PDA cell lines were measured using quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot *** biological functions of UTX in PDA cell growth,migration,and invasion were determined using gain-and loss-of-function assays with both in vitro and in vivo animal *** expression was reduced in human PDA cell lines and *** UTX expression was associated with poor differentiation and prognosis in *** UTX expression inhibited PDA proliferation,migration,and invasion in vitro and PDA growth and metastasis in vivo,whereas knockdown of UTX expression did the ***,UTX expression was trans-activated by GATA6 ***6-mediated PDA progression could be blocked,at least partially,by silencing UTX *** conclusion,loss of GATA6-mediated UTX expression was evident in human PDA and restored UTX expression suppressed PDA growth and ***,UTX is a tumor suppressor in PDA and may serve as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target.

Species’ geographical range, environmental range and traits lead to specimen collection preference of dominant plant species of grasslands in Northern China

many different factors,such as species traits,socio-economic factors,geographical and environmental factors,can lead to specimen collection *** study aims to determine whether grassland specimen collection in China is preferred by species traits(i.e.,plant height,flowering and fruiting period),environmental range(i.e.,the temperature and precipitation range)and geographical range(i.e.,distribution range and altitudinal range).Ordinary least squares models and phylogenetic generalized linear mixed models were used to analyze the relationships between specimen number and the explanatory *** Forest models were then used to find the most parsimonious multivariate *** results showed that interannual variation in specimen number between 1900 and 2020 was *** number of these species in southeast China was notably lower than that in northwest *** range and geographical range of species had significant positive correlations with specimen *** addition,there were relatively weak but significant associations between specimen number and species trait(i.e.,plant height and flowering and fruiting period).Random Forest models indicated that distribution range was the most important variable,followed by flowering and fruiting period,and altitudinal *** findings suggest that future floristic surveys should pay more attention to species with small geographical range,narrow environmental range,short plant height,and short flowering and fruiting *** correction of specimen collection preference will also make the results of species distribution model,species evolution and other works based on specimen data more accurate.

The reduction of phosphogypsum(PG)to lime slag and SO_(2)using coke can effectively alleviate the environmental problems caused by ***,the PG decomposition temperature remains high and the product yield remains *** adding additives,the decomposition temperature can be further reduced and PG decomposition rate and product yield can be ***,the use of current additives such as Fe_(2)O_(3)and SiO_(2)brings the problem of increasing economic ***,it is proposed to use solid waste copper slag(CS)as a new additive to reduce PG to prepare SO2,which can reduce the cost and meet the environmental benefits at the same *** effects of proportion,temperature and thermostatic time on PG decomposition are investigated by experimental and kinetic analysis combined with FactSage thermodynamic calculations to optimize the roasting ***,the reaction mechanism is *** is found that adding CS to the coke and PG system can increase the rate of PG decomposition and SO_(2)yield while lowering the PG decomposition *** example,when the CS/PG mass ratio increases from 0 to 1,PG decomposition rate increases from 83.38%to 99.35%,SO_(2)yield increases from 78.62%to 96.81%,and PG decomposition temperature decreases from 992.4℃to 949.6℃.The optimal reaction parameters are CS/PG mass ratio of 1,Coke/PG mass ratio of 0.06 at 1100℃for 20 min with 99.35%PG decomposition rate and 96.81%SO_(2) *** process proceeds according to the following reactions:2CaSO_(4)+ 0.7C + 0.8Fe_(2)SiO_(4)→0.8Ca_(2)SiO_(4)+ 0.2Ca_(2)Fe_(2)O_(5)+ 0.4Fe_(3)O_(4)+2SO_(2)+ 0.7CO_(2)Finally,a process for decomposing PG with coke and CS is proposed.

The remarkable contribution of oxygen vacancies has been revealed by the operando spectroscopies for methanol synthesis from CO2hydrogeneration on the reducible metal oxide-supported copper catalysts. However, a challenge remains in the intrinsic understanding of the evolution and advantage of oxygen vacancies for methanol synthesis. Here we prepare the TiO2–x/Cu with different oxygen vacancy densities by adjusting the ball-milling frequency. At the optimal condition, a TiO2–x/Cu with more oxygen vacancies delivers an excellent methanol yield of 26.5 mmol g-1h-1at 300 °C with a selectivity of more than 70%. The combined analysis of experimental characterizations and theoretical calculations reveals that the mutual dispersions of TiO2–xand Cu driven by mechanical energy induce the electron rearrangement in the d orbital of the Ti atom and relax the Ti–O binding at the interface, which facilitates the formation of oxygen vacancies that further reduce the barrier of CO2hydrogenation to*HCOO due to higher nucleophilicity of titanium ions.

Electrode materials with high desalination capacity and long-term cyclic stability are the focus of capacitive deionization(CDI) community. Understanding the causes of performance decay in traditional carbons is crucial to design a high-performance material. Based on this, here, nitrogen-doped activated carbon(NAC) was prepared by pyrolyzing the blend of activated carbon powder(ACP) and melamine for the positive electrode of asymmetric CDI. By comparing the indicators changes such as conductivity, salt adsorption capacity, pH, and charge efficiency of the symmetrical ACP-ACP device to the asymmetric ACP-NAC device under different CDI cycles, as well as the changes of the electrochemical properties of anode and cathode materials after long-term operation, the reasons for the decline of the stability of the CDI performance were revealed. It was found that the carboxyl functional groups generated by the electro-oxidation of anode carbon materials make the anode zero-charge potential(E_(pzc)) shift positively,which results in the uneven distribution of potential windows of CDI units and affects the adsorption capacity. Furthermore, by understanding the electron density on C atoms surrounding the N atoms, we attribute the increased cyclic stability to the enhanced negativity of the charge of carbon atoms adjacent to quaternary-N and pyridinic-oxide-N.

Numerous studies from different international groups have demonstrated that sensations can be propagated along acupuncture channel *** propagated sensation along the channel pathway(PSCP)can be elicited by electroacupuncture(EA),transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation(TENS),manual acupuncture(ma),and heat applied to distal acupuncture points(acupoints).Nitric oxide(NO)levels were reported to be elevated in the gracile nucleus and skin regions near to the EA sites,with higher levels at acupoints associated with an enhanced expression of NO synthase and transient receptor potential vanilloid type *** stimuli,EA,ma,TENS,and heat,have been used to elicit axonal reflexes,which increase local release of NO and neuropeptides such as calcitonin gene related ***,the sensation of PSCP along the body surface occurs only ipsilaterally to the stimulated acupoints in various human studies,which does not support the involvement of the spinal-thalamic pathway,which would involve cross over transmission of the *** gracile nucleus receives ascending input from the sciatic nerve and responds to somatosensory stimulation mainly on the ipsilateral side via the dorsal column *** at Zusanli(ST36)increases NO release and expression of NO synthase mainly in the ipsilateral side of the gracile nucleus,while the cardiovascular effects and analgesic responses to EA at ST36 are changed by influences of l-arginine-derived NO synthesis in the ipsilateral gracile nucleus in *** stimuli-induced release of NOergic molecules and neuropeptides exist high levels in the acupoints,which contain rich neuronal components and blood *** NOergic molecules at acupoints cause axon reflexes during the stimuli,which elevate cutaneous blood *** NOergic molecules and local blood flow may spread over acupoints one after another along the meridian lines differing from nerve pathways following the stimuli to induce *** same types of stimula
