SiO_(2) Induces Iron Overload and Ferroptosis in Cardiomyocytes in a Silicosis Mouse Model

Objective The aim of this study was to explore the role and mechanism of ferroptosis in SiO_(2)-induced cardiac injury using a mouse model.Methods Male C57BL/6 mice were intratracheally instilled with SiO_(2) to create a silicosis model.Ferrostatin-1(Fer-1)and deferoxamine(DFO)were used to suppress ferroptosis.Serum biomarkers,oxidative stress markers,histopathology,iron content,and the expression of ferroptosis-related proteins were assessed.Results SiO_(2) altered serum cardiac injury biomarkers,oxidative stress,iron accumulation,and ferroptosis markers in myocardial tissue.Fer-1 and DFO reduced lipid peroxidation and iron overload,and alleviated SiO_(2)-induced mitochondrial damage and myocardial injury.SiO_(2) inhibited Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)and its downstream antioxidant genes,while Fer-1 more potently reactivated Nrf2 compared to DFO.Conclusion Iron overload-induced ferroptosis contributes to SiO_(2)-induced cardiac injury.Targeting ferroptosis by reducing iron accumulation or inhibiting lipid peroxidation protects against SiO_(2) cardiotoxicity,potentially via modulation of the Nrf2 pathway.

Perovskite Cathode Materials for Low‑Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells:Fundamentals to Optimization

Acceleration of the oxygen reduction reaction at the cathode is paramount in the development of low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells.At low operating temperatures between 450 and 600℃,the interactions between the surface and the bulk of the cathode materials greatly impact the electrode kinetics and consequently determine the overall efficacy and long-term stability of the fuel cells.This review will provide an overview of the recent progress in the understanding of surface-bulk interactions in perovskite oxides as well as their impact on cathode reactivity and stability.This review will also summarize current strategies in the development of cathode materials through bulk doping and surface functionalization.In addition,this review will highlight the roles of surface segregation in the mediation of surface and bulk interactions,which have profound impacts on the properties of cathode surfaces and the bulk and therefore overall cathode performance.Although trade-offs between reactivity and stability commonly exist in terms of catalyst design,opportunities also exist in attaining optimal cathode performance through the modulation of both cathode surfaces and bulk using combined strategies.This review will conclude with future research directions involving investigations into the role of oxygen vacancy and mobility in catalysis,the rational modulation of surface-bulk interactions and the use of advanced fabrication techniques,all of which can lead to optimized cathode performance.

冠心病(CHD)等为代表的心血管疾病是人类的最主要死亡原因。心脏康复(CR)是专门针对心血管疾病患者设计的一种康复治疗计划,旨在帮助患者在术后尽快提升身体机能水平,更快回归社会,其中运动疗法是CR的主要内容。积极进行CR不仅可以降低CHD的发病率和死亡率,提高心肺功能,还能减轻医疗经济负担。本文总结了身体活动水平对CHD患者的影响、目前运动疗法在CR中的具体应用模式和CR中不同运动处方的制定原则,以期为运动疗法更好地应用于CHD患者提供参考。

Brilliant iridescent plumage colors (in which the color changes depending on the reflectance spectra of sunlight at different viewing angles) greatly expand the range of plumage colors and create colors unachievable by plants or other animals [1].

Anthrones are key structural motifs in many natural products, bioactive compounds and pharmaceutical chemicals. Earth-abundant-metal-catalyzed asymmetric functionalization of anthrones has not proved to be viable. Herein, we disclosed a highly enantioselective propargylic substitution of anthrones with propargylic esters using copper salts with chiral N, N, P-ligand. This strategy is amenable to a broad range of substrates, uses readily available starting materials, provides excellent yields with remarkable enantioselectivity under mild conditions, and enables attractive products diversification routes.

The rapid crystal growth of metal halide perovskite(MHP)nanocrystals inevitably leads to the generation of abundant crystal defects in the lattice.Here,defects-mediated long-lived charges and accompanying room-temperature persistent luminescence are demonstrated to be a general phenomenon in MHP nanocrystals.Density functional theory calculations suggest that the collaboration of Schottky and point defects enables upward cascading depletion for electron transfer in MHP nanocrystals,leading to the generation of long-lived photoexcited charges with lifetimes over 30 min.The excellent optical properties including the presence of long-lived charges,high charge separation efficiency,and broad absorption in the visible region make MHPs ideal candidates for both photocatalysis and photobiocatalysis.The MHPs were further integrated with enzymes to construct a light-driven biosynthetic system for the selective production of fine chemicals from CO_(2)with solar energy.The biosynthetic system can produce formate with a quantum yield of 3.24%,much higher than that of plants(∼0.2-1.6%).These findings will benefit the understanding of the optoelectronic properties of MHPs and further provide opportunities for the development of biosynthetic systems for solar-to-chemical synthesis.

Investigating the dynamic memory effect of human drivers via ON-LSTM

It is a widely accepted view that considering the memory effects of historical information(driving operations) is beneficial for vehicle trajectory prediction models to improve prediction accuracy. However,many commonly used models(e.g., long short-term memory, LSTM) can only implicitly simulate memory effects, but lack effective mechanisms to capture memory effects from sequence data and estimate their effective time range(ETR). This shortage makes it hard to dynamically configure the most suitable length of used historical information according to the current driving behavior, which harms the good understanding of vehicle motion. To address this problem, we propose a modified trajectory prediction model based on ordered neuron LSTM(ON-LSTM). We demonstrate the feasibility of ETR estimation based on ON-LSTM and propose an ETR estimation method. We estimate the ETR of driving fluctuations and lane change operations on the NGSIM I-80 dataset. The experiment results prove that the proposed method can well capture the memory effects during trajectory prediction. Moreover, the estimated ETR values are in agreement with our intuitions.

Evolution and distribution of medullary bone: evidence from a new Early Cretaceous enantiornithine bird

living birds are unique among vertebrates in the formation of a female-specific bone tissue called medullary bone(MB) that is strictly associated with reproductive activity. MB is a rapidly mobilized source of calcium and phosphorus for the production of eggshell. Among living taxa, its skeletal distribution can be highly extensive such that it even exists in the ribs of some species. Due to its ephemeral nature, MB is rarely fossilized and so little is understood with regard to the origin of MB and its skeletal distribution in early taxa.Here we describe a new Early Cretaceous enantiornithine bird, Mirusavis parvus, gen. et. sp. nov., indicating that skeleton-wide distribution of MB appeared early in avian evolution. We suggest that this represents the plesiomorphic condition for the Aves and that the distribution of MB observed among extant neornithines is a product of increased pneumatization in this lineage and natural selection for more efficient distribution of MB.

针对装载机智能铲装过程中缺少对物料细粒度方面的高精度检测算法问题,提出基于YOLOv5改进的物料细粒度目标检测算法。该方法主要利用注意力机制提高模型对细粒度特征的提取能力和对低质量数据的检测能力。为进一步利用注意力优化网络性能,提出双线性注意力机制,研究最佳嵌入方案并将软阈值思想与双线性注意力机制结合,以达到缓解低质量数据对模型检测精度影响的目的。实验结果表明,相较于原YOLOv5,双线性注意力机制改进后的网络在高质量样本上的mAP@0.5为93.2%,提高6.0%,每秒检测帧数(FPS)为52.6;嵌入软阈值后,网络在低质量样本上的mAP@0.5为90.2%,提高9.9%,FPS为50.0,满足装载机智能铲装过程对算法检测精度和实时性的要求。

在当代社会中,非物质文化遗产(下称“非遗”)与民俗事象的生存很难与现代商业划清界限。非遗的商业化过程往往伴随着大量现代社会特有的问题,其中,非遗知识产权问题最为突出。在“鲁锦案”和“合川桃片案”中,知识产权相关法律在很大程度上维护了非遗的商业化秩序,确保其商业化过程有序进行。从这两个案件可以明确看到,民俗事象的现代化适应过程存在着两个阶段:其一是单纯的商业化阶段,其二是知识产权的介入阶段。在知识产权介入之后,文化、商业与法律之间出现了明显的互动迹象,同时民俗事象与非遗的版权确认也在逐渐成为民俗现代化的规范操作。
