Sepsis is a lethal condition characterized by multiple organ dysfunction due to disrupted host responses to severe infections.[1]Aff ected patients often have a Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)score≥2.[2]Patients with a SOFA score<2 and at least one of the following were considered as“suspected sepsis”:(1)quick SOFA(qSOFA)score≥2;(2)SOFA score=1;or(3)National Early Warning Score(NEWS)4-6.[3]Compared with studies on fluid resuscitation in sepsis patients,there are few studies on fluid management in patients with suspected sepsis.Therefore,we conducted a retrospective cohort study to evaluate the relationship between fluid management and disease progression in suspected sepsis patients.

Spiking neural networks(SNNs) provide an efficient way to apply artificial intelligence systems on edge devices. Memristive devices with tunable conductance states can be used to emulate the functions of biological neurons and synapses and to build SNNs. In this work, fully-connected SNNs based on various memristive devices are constructed, and a hardware-compatible spike-timing-dependent plasticity(STDP)learning rule is applied to train the SNNs. Strategies are designed to suppress the overfitting problem and improve the performance of the SNNs in the case of a small training set. However, the properties of memristive devices are never perfect. The effects of imperfect device properties, e.g., asymmetric weight update, insufficient number of conductance states, and low on/off ratio, on the performance of the SNNs are elaborated.

A Robust Superhydrophobic Smart Coating with Reversible Thermochromic and Photochromic Property

Both thermochromic and photochromic coating have attracted many attentions due to their widely applications,but the low stability is a big obstacle.Inspired by the lotus leaf,to endow the chromic coating with superhydrophobicity is a possible solution.In this research,a dual response coating was prepared by adding photochromic and thermochromic particles simultaneously.The prepared sample demonstrated at least four-state color switching,which can be successfully used in tactile imaging,multi-color fabric,erasable record,and security labels.The superhydrophobicity was achieved by introducing vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane,which not only offers low surface energy but also can cross-link with the particles to increase the adhesion.Thus,the prepared sample maintained superhydrophobicity after various kinds of destruction(such as sandpaper abrasion,corrosive liquid attack,ultrasonic treatment,UV irradiation,and high-speed drops/turbulent jets impact).Even though the superhydrophobicity can be destroyed by plasma etching,it can be recovered after 12 h at room temperature.

The influence of pore structures and Lewis acid sites on selective hydrogenolysis of guaiacol to benzene over Ru/TS-1

Here,we report a Ru/TS-1 catalyst for selective hydrogenolysis of guaiacol to benzene in the aqueous phase at conditions of 240℃ and 0.2 MPa H2,achieving a benzene yield of 86% with a hydrogenolysis rate of 103.1 mmol g^(-1) h^(-1).It was found that Silicalite-1(MFI type) with suitable pore sizes supported Ru nanoparticles(NPs) favored for hydrogenolysis of guaiacol,whereas de-aluminated Ru/HBEA,Ru/HY and Ru/MWW(without acidic sites) accelerated the parallel reactions of hydrogenation of aromatics.In addition,Ru NPs located at the orifice of Silicalite-1 was proved to be more electron-deficient and active than Ru NPs on the outer surface,as evidenced by CO-IR characterization and activity tests on Ru/Silicalite-1(with and without templates).Moreover,Br?nsted acid sites(BAS) on Ru/MFI highly promoted the hydrogenation rates of aromatics,while Lewis acid sites(LAS) on Ru/TS-1 and Ru/MFI led to a linear increase of guaiacol hydrogenolysis rate to benzene,probably due to the enhanced absorbance capability of guaiacol and phenol on the LAS of MFI.Thus,pore structure properties of MFI coupled with abundant LAS(TS-1) as well as Ru NPs on the orifice of pores of TS-1 construct a promising catalyst for achieving efficient aromatic hydrocarbons from selective hydrogenolysis of lignin.

With the continuous promotion of the construction of child friendly cities,the school commuting space is an important component of the construction of child friendly roads.Based on the background of child friendly cities,the commuting space of 11 primary and secondary schools in Bajiao Street is analyzed through literature analysis and field research methods.Firstly,the relevant literature on school commuting space is sorted out,and the characteristics of school commuting space are summarized,including transportation,landscape,culture,leisure,and security.Secondly,the characteristics of commuting space of primary and secondary schools in Bajiao Street are analyzed from three aspects:in front of the school gate,path space,and node space.This paper aims to provide reference and guidance for the future construction of children’s walking school commuting and promote the construction of a child friendly city.

The landscape environment of urban blocks plays a significant role in improving the comfort of urban thermal environment and promoting green and high-quality development.The 342 papers related to the research on the impact of urban block landscape environment on thermal comfort in China,collected by CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure)from 2002 to 2022,are used as the research object.Through bibliometric statistical analysis,LLR algorithm,and cluster analysis,the current research status of the impact of urban block landscape environment on thermal comfort in China is analyzed and processed,and its external characteristics are identified.Using the information visualization software CiteSpace,the research topics in the field of the impact of urban block landscape environment on thermal comfort are presented in the form of knowledge graphs.Through co-occurrence analysis of keywords and trend of word frequency changes,the development trends of research hotspots and cutting-edge fields of the impact of urban block landscape environment on thermal comfort are determined,hoping to provide reference for future research in this field.

Experimental study of the settling of twin spherical particles released side by side: The impact of particle size, fluid viscosity, initial spacing,and particle density

The settling of solid particles in a fluid is an important process that needs to be considered in many fields of research. For example, the interactions among particles and between particles and the surrounding fluid are important topics in studying suspended sediment transport and water clarification. In this paper, the settling processes and interactions of twin spherical particles released side by side were experimentally studied. The Reynolds number varied in the range of 1-300, which is within the transition zone. Particle Tracking Velocimetry(PTV) and Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) were utilized to capture the settlement trajectory, and provide insight into the flow fields around the particles. The influences of particle size, fluid viscosity, initial spacing, and particle density on the settling process were systematically investigated. The experimental results reveal that the initial spacing between the twin particles(l0*) and the Reynolds number(Re) are the two most important factors affecting particle settling. The interaction between particles comprises only repulsion when the initial spacing is small, while the density of particles has little effect on the final settling state when the initial spacing is not very small. The flow fields around different particles are similar for the same Re, leading to similar final settlement behaviors, except for the case of l0* = 0, when the influence of particle rotation cannot be ignored. Except for the case of l0* = 0, although the particle density has little effect on the final settling behavior, it affects the repulsive process during settling. The final repulsive distance between the twin particles is highly dependent on Re and l0*. Two critical Re values exist(～10 and ～100), where the repulsive distance is negatively correlated with Re when Re 100. However, the repulsive distance is always negatively correlated with l0*. Background:Given that seizures may be triggered by vaccination,this study aimed to evaluate the risk and correlative factors of seizures in patients with epilepsy(PWE)after being vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Methods:This study retrospectively enrolled PWE who were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the epilepsy centers of 11 hospitals in China.We divided the PWE into two groups as follows:(1)patients who developed seizures within 14 days of vaccination were assigned to the SAV(with seizures after vaccination)group;(2)patients who were seizure-free within 14 days of vaccination were assigned to the SFAV(seizure-free after vaccination)group.To identify potential risk factors for seizure reccurence,the binary logistic regression analysis was performed.Besides,67 PWE who had not been vaccinated were also included for elucidating the effects of vaccination on seizures recurrence,and binary logistic regression analysis was performed to determine whether vaccination would affect the recurrence rate of PWE who had drug reduction or withdrawal.Results:The study included a total of 407 patients;of which,48(11.8%)developed seizures within 14 days after vaccination(SAV group),whereas 359(88.2%)remained seizure-free(SFAV group).The binary logistic regression analysis revealed that duration of seizure freedom(P<0.001)and withdrawal from anti-seizure medications(ASMs)or reduction in their dosage during the peri-vaccination period were significantly associated with the recurrence of seizures(odds ratio=7.384,95%confidence interval=1.732–31.488,P=0.007).In addition,32 of 33 patients(97.0%)who were seizure-free for more than three months before vaccination and had a normal electroencephalogram before vaccination did not have any seizures within 14 days of vaccination.A total of 92(22.6%)patients experienced non-epileptic adverse reactions after vaccination.Binary logistic regression analysis results showed that vaccine did not significantly affect the recurrence rate of PWE who had the behavior of ASMs dose re
