The mid-passage gap is an inevitable structure in a vane passage due to turbine vanes being manufactured *** coolant from this gap is able to prevent hot mainstream ingression and provide cooling protection for the endwall.A novel idea of enlarging the endwall’s coverage area and reducing the endwall’s thermal load by applying the mid-passage gap with variable surface angles is carried out in this *** endwall’s aerothermal and film cooling performances under four mid-passage gap modes at three typical mass flow ratio conditions are numerically *** indicate that under the traditional mid-passage mode,the coolant flows into the mainstream with a perpendicular incidence angle and can’t stick to the ***,cooling failure occurs,and the endwall’s thermal load is badly *** film cooling level at the suction-side endwall is improved when applying the mid-passage gap of a 45surface angle due to the secondary vortex being *** addition,when applying the mid-passage gap of a 135surface angle,the horseshoe vortex is pushed away,and the coverage area at the pressure-side endwall is enlarged *** best film cooling performance is achieved when the upstream surface angle is 135and the downstream surface angle is 45due to the adiabatic film cooling effectiveness being increased at both the pressure-and suction-side *** the mass flow ratio is 1.5%,the coverage area is enlarged by 43%,and the area-averaged adiabatic film cooling effectiveness is increased by 37%,when compared with those under the traditional mid-passage mode.

line-commutated converter (LCC)-based high-voltage DC (HVDC) systems have been integrated with bulk AC power grids for interregional transmission of renewable power. The nonlinear LCC model brings additional nonconvexity to optimal power flow (OPF) of hybrid AC-DC power grids. A convexification method for the LCC station model could address such nonconvexity but has rarely been discussed. We devise an equivalent reformulation for classical LCC station models that facilitates second-order cone convex relaxation for the OPF of LCC-based AC-DC power grids. We also propose sufficient conditions for exactness of convex relaxation with its proof. Equivalence of the proposed LCC station models and properties, exactness, and effectiveness of convex relaxation are verified using four numerical simulations. Simulation results demonstrate a globally optimal solution of the original OPF can be efficiently obtained from relaxed model.

Observability analysis(OA)is vital to obtaining the available input measurements of state estimation(SE)in an integrated electricity and heating system(IEHS).Considering the thermal quasi-dynamics in pipelines,the measurement equations in heating systems are dependent on the estimated results,leading to an interdependency between OA and *** OA methods require measurement equations be known exactly before SE is performed,and they are not applicable to *** bridge this gap,a scenario-based OA scheme for IEHSs is devised that yields reliable analysis results for a predefined set of time-delay scenarios to cope with this *** its core procedure,the observable state identification and observability restoration are formulated in terms of integer linear *** tests are conducted to demonstrate the validity and superiority of the proposed formulation.

The nanoscale zinc oxide(n-ZnO)was used in food packages due to its superior antibac terial activity,resulting in potential intake of n-ZnO through the digestive system,wherein n-ZnO interacted with *** recent,facet engineering,a technique for controlling the exposed facets,was applied to n-ZnO,whereas risk of n-ZnO with specific exposed facets in saliva was *** nanoflakes(ZnO-0001)and nanoneedles(ZnO-1010)with the pri mary exposed facets of{0001}and{1010}respectively were prepared in this study,investigat ing stability and toxicity of ZnO-0001 and ZnO-1010 in synthetic *** ZnO-0001 and ZnO-1010 partially transformed into amorphous Zn_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)within 1 hr in the saliva even containing orgnaic components,forming a ZnO-Zn_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)core-shell *** less,ZnO-1010 relative to ZnO-0001 would likely transform into Zn_(3)(PO_(4))_(2),being attributed to superior dissolution of{1010}facet due to its lower vacancy formation energy(1.15 eV than{0001}facet(3.90 eV)).The toxicity of n-ZnO to Caco-2 cells was also dependent on the primary exposed facet;ZnO-0001 caused cell toxicity through oxidative stress,whereas ZnO-1010 resulted in lower cells viability than ZnO-0001 through oxidative stress and mem brane *** functional theory calculations illustrated that·O_(2)^(-)was formed and released on{1010}facet,yet O_(2)^(2-)instead of·O_(2)^(-)was generated on{0001}facet,leading to low oxidative stress from *** findings demonstrated that stability and toxicity of n-ZnO were dependent on the primary exposed facet,improving our understanding o health risk of nanomaterials.

A chemical co-precipitation strategy was employed to synthesize a series of(Gd_(0.95−x)Lu_(x)Eu_(0.05))_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)(x=0.1−0.95)powder phosphors,followed by vacuum sintering to achieve transparent garnet ceramic *** density functional theory indicated Lu_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) was formed in priority compared with Gd_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) during solid-phase *** high-temperature sintering,the Lu^(3+)substitution for Gd^(3+)suppressed point mass diffusion leading to a smaller grain *** in-line transmittances of bulk specimens with x=0.1,0.3,0.5,0.7,and 0.95 nm were~83.5%,80.1%,68.8%,73.7%,and 82.2%at 710 nm(Eu^(3+)emission center),respectively,among which the sample of x=0.1 exhibited the optical grade with near-zero optical loss in agreement with the defect-free single crystal(~100%of the theoretical transmittance).The resulting particle and ceramic materials both presented characteristic Eu^(3+)emission arising from 5D0→7Fj(j=1−4)transition,where the dominant far-red emission at~710 nm arising from ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(4) transition overlapped with the absorption of phytochrome(PFR).The photoluminescence excitation and photoluminescence intensities of(Gd_(0.95−x)Lu_(x)Eu_(0.05))_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) powders and ceramics generally increased at a higher Gd^(3+)/Lu^(3+)***^(3+)dopants delayed the fluorescence lifetime while the bulk samples had shorter lifetime compared to the particle *** transparent(Gd_(0.85)Lu_(0.1)Eu_(0.05))3Al_(5)O_(12) ceramic phosphor exhibited good thermal stability with a high thermal quenching temperature above 533 *** designed ceramic phosphor-converted light-emitting diode had a saturation injection current of 435 mA and a current-dependent color rendering *** importantly,our report marked the developmental stage of transparent ceramic materials towards zero optical loss.

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of Mg alloys seriously limit their potential applications in various *** conventional epoxy coating easily forms many intrinsic defects during the solidification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a double-layer epoxy composite coating on Mg alloy with enhanced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assembly *** outer layer is functionalized graphene(FG)in waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner layer is Ce-based conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can be homogeneously dispersed within the epoxy matrix to fill the intrinsic defects and improve the barrier *** Ce film connects the outer layer with the substrate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower than that of bare Mg alloy,and the wear rate is decreased by~90%.The improved corrosion resistance is attributed to the labyrinth effect(hindering the penetration of corrosive medium)and the obstruction of galvanic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from the FG sheet and blocking layer exhibits great potential in realizing the improvement of multi-functional integration,which will open up a new avenue for the development of novel composite protection coatings of Mg alloys.

Objective:Glioblastomas are highly vascularized malignant *** determined the efficacy and safety of the anti-angiogenic multi-kinase inhibitor,anlotinib,for a newly diagnosed ***:This multicenter,single-arm trial(nCT04119674)enrolled 33 treatment-naïve patients with histologically proven glioblastomas between March 2019 and november *** underwent treatment with the standard STUPP regimen[fractionated focal irradiation in daily fractions of 1.8-2 Gy given 5 d/w×6 w(total=54-60 Gy)]or radiotherapy plus continuous daily temozolomide(TMZ)(75 mg/m^(2)of body surface area/d,7 d/w from the first to the last day of radiotherapy),followed by 6 cycles of adjuvant TMZ(150-200 mg/m^(2)×5 d during each 28-d cycle)plus anlotinib(8 mg/d on d 1-14 of each 3-w cycle for 2 cycles during concomitant chemoradiotherapy,8 maximal cycles as adjuvant therapy,followed by maintenance at 8 mg/*** primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).Secondary endpoints included overall survival(OS)and adverse events(AEs).Results:Thirty-three patients received the planned *** median PFS was 10.9 months(95%CI,9.9-18.7 months)and the 12-month PFS rate was 48.5%.The median OS was 17.4 months(95%CI,14.5-21.1 months)and the 12-month OS rate was 81.8%.The most common AEs included hypertriglyceridemia[58%(n=19)],hypoalbuminemia[46%(n=15)],and hypercholesterolemia[46%(n=15)]during concurrent chemoradiotherapy and leukopenia[73%(n=24)],hypertriglyceridemia[67%(n=22)],and neutropenia[52%(n=17)]during adjuvant *** patients discontinued treatment due to ***1(HR,5.6;95%CI,1.3-23.7;P=0.021)and RP1L1 alterations(HR,11.1;95%CI,2.2-57.2;P=0.004)were associated with a significantly shorter ***:Anlotinib plus the STUPP regimen has promising anti-tumor activity against glioblastoma and manageable ***1 and RP1L1 alterations might be novel predictive biomarkers of the response to anlotinib.

neural networks are powerful tools for approximating high dimensional data that have been used in many contexts,including solution of partial differential equations(PDEs).We describe a solver for multiscale fully nonlinear elliptic equations that makes use of domain decomposition,an accelerated Schwarz framework,and two-layer neural networks to approximate the boundary-to-boundarymap for the subdomains,which is the key step in the Schwarz ***,the boundary-to-boundary map requires solution of boundary-value elliptic problems on each *** leveraging the compressibility of multiscale problems,our approach trains the neural network offline to serve as a surrogate for the usual implementation of the boundary-to-boundary *** method is applied to a multiscale semilinear elliptic equation and a multiscale p-Laplace *** both cases we demonstrate significant improvement in efficiency as well as good accuracy and generalization performance.

Retroperitoneal liposarcoma(RLPS)is the main subtype of retroperitoneal soft sarcoma(RSTS)and has a poor prognosis and few treatment options,except for *** proteomic and metabolic profiles of RLPS have remained *** aim of our study was to reveal the metabolic profile of ***,we performed proteomic analysis(n=10),metabolomic analysis(n=51),and lipidomic analysis(n=50)of retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma(RDDLPS)and retroperitoneal well-differentiated liposarcoma(RWDLPS)tissue and paired adjacent adipose tissue obtained during *** analysis mainly revealed that glycolysis,purine metabolism,pyrimidine metabolism and phospholipid formation were upregulated in both RDDLPS and RWDLPS tissue compared with the adjacent adipose tissue,whereas the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle,lipid absorption and synthesis,fatty acid degradation and biosynthesis,as well as glycine,serine,and threonine metabolism were *** particular importance,the glycolytic inhibitor 2-deoxy-D-glucose and pentose phosphate pathway(PPP)inhibitor RRX-001 significantly promoted the antitumor effects of the MDM2 inhibitor RG7112 and CDK4 inhibitor *** study not only describes the metabolic profiles of RDDLPS and RWDLPS,but also offers potential therapeutic targets and strategies for RLPS.
