Palladium single atoms from melting nanoparticles on WO_(3-x) for boosted hydrogen evolution reaction

Surface-supported isolated atoms in single-atom catalysts(SACs)grant maximum utilization of metals in heterogeneous catalysis.Herein,we report a feasible pyrolysis strategy to synthesize Pd single atoms by thermally melting Pd nanoparticles on an oxygen-vacancy-rich tungsten-oxide matrix at reduction atmosphere.Near ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy was used to monitor the formation of zero-valence Pd single atoms and the increased metallic feature of WO_(3-x)substrate.Accordingly,the as-obtained zero-valence Pd single-atom catalyst exhibits a markedly boosted HER activity with a low overpotential(η_(10)=70 mV)at the current density of 10 mA/cm2and a small Tafel slope(b=68 mV/dec),nearly 150 mV and a 3,0-fold enhancement than those of Pd nanoparticles(η_(10)=220 mV,b=133 mV/dec)under the same conditions.In addition,quasi in situ XPS results suggest the hydrogen spillover effect is more likely to occur on Pd single atoms during the electrochemical process.Our work may pave an interesting route for the rational design of highly-efficient single-atom catalysts,and the elucidation of corresponding enhanced reaction mechanisms by the utilization of advanced characterization techniques.

Nested Saturated Control of Uncertain Complex Cascade Systems Using Mixed Saturation Levels

This study addresses the problem of global asymptotic stability for uncertain complex cascade systems composed of multiple integrator systems and non-strict feedforward nonlinear systems. To tackle the complexity inherent in such structures, a novel nested saturated control design is proposed that incorporates both constant saturation levels and state-dependent saturation levels. Specifically, a modified differentiable saturation function is proposed to facilitate the saturation reduction analysis of the uncertain complex cascade systems under the presence of mixed saturation levels. In addition, the design of modified differentiable saturation function will help to construct a hierarchical global convergence strategy to improve the robustness of control design scheme. Through calculation of relevant inequalities, time derivative of boundary surface and simple Lyapunov function,saturation reduction analysis and convergence analysis are carried out, and then a set of explicit parameter conditions are provided to ensure global asymptotic stability in the closed-loop systems. Finally, a simplified system of the mechanical model is presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Intelligent feedforward gust alleviation based on neural network

This paper proposes a neural network-based intelligent feedforward gust alleviation framework,which includes a neural network identification model and a neural network controller.A neural network training dataset is formed by collecting flight data and the gust data encountered during the aircraft flight.A neural network identification model is first trained to accurately predict the aircraft’s output.Then,based on the output of the identification model and the collected flight data,the parameters of the time-delay neural network controller are obtained through a learning process.The simulation results show that the designed intelligent controller has good gust alleviation effects for both continuous turbulence excitation and discrete gust excitation.For example,when the aircraft is 40000 kg and the flight speed is 0.81Ma,the controller achieves a 67.82%reduction in wingtip acceleration and a 35.90%reduction in center of mass acceleration under continuous turbulence excitation.When considering the measurement uncertainties,such as noise existing in the collected data,the trained controller can still achieve an acceptable gust alleviation effect.Finally,considering a flight in which the aircraft mass is constantly changing,the intelligent controller,which continuously learns from new flight data,maintains a good gust alleviation effect throughout the flight.

Prescribed Performance Evolution Control for Quadrotor Autonomous Shipboard Landing

The shipboard landing problem for a quadrotor is addressed in this paper,where the ship trajectory tracking control issue is transformed into a stabilization control issue by building a relative position model.To guarantee both transient performance and steady-state landing error,a prescribed performance evolution control(PPEC)method is developed for the relative position control.In addition,a novel compensation system is proposed to expand the performance boundaries when the input saturation occurs and the error exceeds the predefined threshold.Considering the wind and wave on the relative position model,an adaptive sliding mode observer(ASMO)is designed for the disturbance with unknown upper bound.Based on the dynamic surface control framework,a shipboard landing controller integrating PPEC and ASMO is established for the quadrotor,and the relative position control error is guaranteed to be uniformly ultimately bounded.Simulation results have verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed shipboard landing control scheme.

Crosstalk among mitophagy,pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and necroptosis in central nervous system injuries

Central nervous system injuries have a high rate of resulting in disability and mortality;however,at present,effective treatments are lacking.Programmed cell death,which is a genetically determined fo rm of active and ordered cell death with many types,has recently attra cted increasing attention due to its functions in determining the fate of cell survival.A growing number of studies have suggested that programmed cell death is involved in central nervous system injuries and plays an important role in the progression of brain damage.In this review,we provide an ove rview of the role of programmed cell death in central nervous system injuries,including the pathways involved in mitophagy,pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and necroptosis,and the underlying mechanisms by which mitophagy regulates pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and necro ptosis.We also discuss the new direction of therapeutic strategies to rgeting mitophagy for the treatment of central nervous system injuries,with the aim to determine the connection between programmed cell death and central nervous system injuries and to identify new therapies to modulate programmed cell death following central nervous system injury.In conclusion,based on these properties and effects,interventions targeting programmed cell death could be developed as potential therapeutic agents for central nervous system injury patients.

Active flutter suppression of nonlinear fin-actuator system via inverse system and immersion and invariance method

Structural nonlinearities such as freeplay will affect the stability and even flight safety of the fin-actuator system.There is a lack of a practical method for designing Active Flutter Suppression (AFS) control laws for nonlinear fin-actuator systems.A design method for the AFS controller of the nonlinear all-movable fin-electromechanical actuator system is established by combining the inverse system and the Immersion and Invariance (I&I) theory.First,the composite control law combining the inverse system principle and internal model control is used to offset the nonlinearity and dynamics of the actuator,so that its driving torque can follow the ideal signal.Then,the ideal torque of the actuator is designed employing the I&I theory.The unfavorable oscillation of the fin is suppressed by making the output torque of the actuator track the ideal signal.The simulation results reveal that the proposed AFS method can increase the flutter speed of the nonlinear finactuator system with freeplay,and a set of controller parameters is also applicable for wider freeplay within a certain range.The power required for the actuator does not exceed the power that can be provided by the commonly used aviation actuator.This method can also resist a certain level of noise and external disturbance.

Space-time estimates of the 3D bipolar compressible Navier-Stokes-Poisson system with unequal viscosities

The space-time behavior for the Cauchy problem of the 3D compressible bipolar Navier-Stokes-Poisson(BNSP)system with unequal viscosities is given.The space-time estimate of the electric field▽φ=▽(-△)^(-1)(n-Zρ)is the most important in deducing generalized Huygens’principle for the BNSP system and it requires proving that the space-time estimate of n-Zρonly contains the diffusion wave due to the singularity of the operator▽(-△)^(-1).A suitable linear combination of unknowns reformulating the original system into two small subsystems for the special case(with equal viscosities)in Wu and Wang(2017)is crucial for both linear analysis and nonlinear estimates,especially for the space-time estimate of▽φ.However,the benefits from this reformulation will no longer exist in general cases.Here,we study an 8×8 Green’s matrix directly.More importantly,each entry in Green’s matrix contains wave operators in the low-frequency part,which will generally produce Huygens’wave;as a result,one cannot achieve the space-time estimate of n-Zρthat only contains the diffusion wave as before.We overcome this difficulty by taking a more detailed spectral analysis and developing new estimates arising from subtle cancellations in Green’s function.

Two simple memristive maps with adaptive energy regulation ano digital signal process verification

Mathematical models can produce desired dynamics and statistical properties with the insertion of suitable nonlinear terms,while energy characteristics are crucial for practical application because any hardware realizations of nonlinear systems are relative to energy flow.The involvement of memristive terms relative to memristors enables multistability and initial-dependent property in memristive systems.In this study,two kinds of memristors are used to couple a capacitor or an inductor,along with a nonlinear resistor,to build different neural circuits.The corresponding circuit equations are derived to develop two different types of memristive oscillators,which are further converted into two kinds of memristive maps after linear transformation.The Hamilton energy function for memristive oscillators is obtained by applying the Helmholz theorem or by mapping from the field energy of the memristive circuits.The Hamilton energy functions for both memristive maps are obtained by replacing the gains and discrete variables for the memristive oscillator with the corresponding parameters and variables.The two memristive maps have rich dynamic behaviors including coherence resonance under noisy excitation,and an adaptive growth law for parameters is presented to express the self-adaptive property of the memristive maps.A digital signal process(DSP)platform is used to verify these results.Our scheme will provide a theoretical basis and experimental guidance for oscillator-to-map transformation and discrete map-energy calculation.

Influence of ground effect on flow field structure and aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains

The simulation of the ground effect has always been a technical difficulty in wind tunnel tests of high-speed trains.In this paper,large eddy simulation and the curl acoustic integral equation were used to simulate the flow-acoustic field results of high-speed trains under four ground simulation systems(GSSs):“moving ground+rotating wheel”,“stationary ground+rotating wheel”,“moving ground+stationary wheel”,and“stationary ground+stationary wheel”.By comparing the fluid-acoustic field results of the four GSSs,the influence laws of different GSSs on the flow field structure,aero-acoustic source,and far-field radiation noise characteristics were investigated,providing guidance for the acoustic wind tunnel testing of high-speed trains.The calculation results of the aerodynamic noise of a 350 km/h high-speed train show that the moving ground and rotating wheel affect mainly the aero-acoustic performance under the train bottom.The influence of the rotating wheel on the equivalent sound source power of the whole vehicle was not more than 5%,but that of the moving ground slip was more than 15%.The average influence of the rotating wheel on the sound pressure level radiated by the whole vehicle was 0.3 dBA,while that of the moving ground was 1.8 dBA.
