The phosphogypsum particles coated with organic emulsion were prepared by coating three kinds of organic emulsion of silicone-acrylic,styrene-acrylic and *** structure and mineralogical characteristics,acid and alkali resistance,water resistance and dissociation degree of coated phosphogypsum were studied by means of SEM-EDAX,optical microscope,gravimetric analysis and chemical *** results showed that the initial emulsion can be used directly for coating and granulation of *** spray re-coating was carried out by using diluted emulsion with the water-to-emulsion mass ratio of 1∶*** organic emulsion coated phosphogypsum crystal can be clearly observed,and the mixing zone at internal boundary between the organic emulsion and phosphogypsum crystal was distinguishable under the optical *** photos showed that the surface of coated phosphogypsum particles was *** the basic elements of C,O,S and Ca can be detected by *** emulsion can be solidified into film-network between the phosphogypsum crystals inside of the coated particles,and it can play a protective role in improving the acid resistance,alkali resistance and water resistance of phosphogypsum,and reduce the degree of dissociation of phosphogypsum in water.

Optical imaging is a promising method to identify and locate 2D materials efficiently and non-invasively. By putting a 2D material on a substrate, the nanolayer will add to an optical path and create a contrast to the case when the nanolayer is absent. This optical contrast imaging can be used to identify the 2D material and its number of layers. To make the optical imaging process in the laboratories an effective tool, Fresnel Law as a model was used to simulate the optical imaging results of 2D materials(graphene, Mo S2 and MoSe2) on top of different thickness of SiO2and Si wafer in the present investigation. The results provide the details of the optimal conditions(optimal light wavelength and optimal SiO2thickness) to identify and locate single to few 2D nanolayers, which can be used directly in laboratories. The optical contrasts of 1–5 layers of molybdenum disulfide(MoS2) and molybdenum diselenide(MoSe2) were simulated. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that the optical contrast results of MoSe2have been reported. In particular, this work highlights the sensitivity of the model on the accuracy of the refractive indices used. It is demonstrated that through computational modeling that optical contrast can allow effective determination of number of layers in few layer 2D materials.

The aim of this work was to determine the effect of formulation of alginate beads on their mechanical behavior and stiffness when compressed at high speed. The alginate beads were formulated using different types and concentrations of alginate and gelling cations and were produced using an extrusiondripping method, Single wet beads were compressed at a speed of 40 mm/min, and their elastic limits were investigated, and the corresponding force versus displacement data were obtained. The Young＇s moduli of the beads were determined from the force versus displacement data using the Hertz＇s contact mechanics theory. The alginate beads were found to exhibit plastic behavior when they were compressed beyond 50% with the exception of copper-alginate beads for which yield occured at lower deformation, Alginate beads made of higher guluronic acid contents and gelling cations of higher chemical affinity were found to have greater stiffness. Increasing the concentration of alginate and gelling ions also generated a similar effect. At such a compression speed, the values of Young＇s modulus of the beads were found to be in the range between 250 and 900 kPa depending on the bead formulation.

Archaea play an important role in global carbon and nitrogen cycles. Archaeal lipids, such as isoprenoid glycerol diakyl glycerol tetraethers(i GDGTs), are important biomarkers tracing change in archaeal community structure and biogeochemical processes in the natural environments. In this research, the spatial distributions of archaeal lipids in the surface sediments of the Jiulong River(JR) and the Jiulong River estuary(JRE) were examined. GDGT-0(containing zero cyclopentyl ring) and crenarchaeol were the most abundant i GDGTs in the JR and JRE. From the rivers to the estuary, the total i GDGTs, GDGT-0, crenarchaeol and archaeol concentrations showed significant spatial variation; in particular, GDGT-0 and archaeol in the river may be predominantly derived in situ from methanogens, whereas crenarchaeol in the estuary mainly derived in situ from Thaumarchaeota. We inferred that archaeal community was dominated by methanogens in the Jiulong River and by Thaumarchaeota in the Jiulong River estuary, which are consistent with change in archaeal community structure observed in other estuarine environments.

We demonstrate a facile and effective approach to significantly improve the photoluminescence of bulk MoS2 via laser thinning followed by gold particle decoration. Upon laser thinning of exfoliated bulk MoSz photoluminescence emerges from the laser-thinned region. After further treatment with an AuCl3 solution, gold particles self-assemble on the laser-thinned region and thick edges, further increasing the fluorescence of bulk MoS2 28 times and the Raman response 3 times. Such fluorescence enhancement can be attributed to both surface plasmon resonance and p-type doping induced by gold particles. The combination of laser thinning and AuCl3 treatment enables the functionalization of bulk MoS2 for optoelectronic applications. It can also provide a viable strategy for mask-free and area-selective p-type doping on single MoS2 flakes.

Realizing real-time monitoring of physiological signals is vital for preventing and treating chronic diseases in elderly individuals. However,wearable sensors with low power consumption and high sensitivity to both weak physiological signals and large mechanical stimuli remain ***, a flexible triboelectric patch(FTEP) based on porous-reinforcement microstructures for remote health monitoring has been reported. The porousreinforcement microstructure is constructed by the self-assembly of silicone rubber adhering to the porous framework of the PU sponge. The mechanical properties of the FTEP can be regulated by the concentrations of silicone rubber dilution. For pressure sensing, its sensitivity can be effectively improved fivefold compared to the device with a solid dielectric layer, reaching 5.93 kPa^(-1) under a pressure range of 0–5 kPa. In addition, the FTEP has a wide detection range up to 50 kPa with a sensitivity of 0.21 kPa^(-1). The porous microstructure makes the FTEP ultra-sensitive to external pressure, and the reinforcements endow the device with a greater deformation limit in a wide detection range. Finally, a novel concept of the wearable Internet of Healthcare(Io H) system for real-time physiological signal monitoring has been proposed, which could provide real-time physiological information for ambulatory personalized healthcare monitoring.

In wind tunnel tests of tall building models comprised of rounded or streamlined surfaces, Reynolds Number Effects (RNE) may be remarkable. In most researches and projects, owing to the presence of sharp edged corners at model, RNE was often treated as negligible, and data colleCted in subcritical flow regime were applied directly to designs which were sure to be supercritical without any modification. But it was proved necessary to take RNE into consideration when a model had predominant rounded smooth surface(s). Some research activities were devoted to the mentioned condition and two experimental techniques accompanied by two wind tunnel model tests were introduced in the article. The authors also presented some amusing phenomenon such as extremely low pressure coefficients caused by the separating bubbles when now past sharp edged corners, unsymmetrical pressure coefficient distributions commenced by biased gap f'low (seen Figs. 3, 4) while models were placed symmetrically in the approaching flow.
