BACKGROUND Synovial sarcoma(SS)is an uncommon and highly malignant soft tissue sarcoma in the clinic,with primary pulmonary SS(PPSS)being extremely ***,we describe the clinical characteristics,diagnosis,and treatment of a solitary PPSS case confirmed via surgical resection and fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH).CASE SUMMARY A 33-year-old man was admitted because of intermittent coughing and hemoptysis for one month,with lung shadows observed for two *** positron emission tomography-computed tomography(PET-CT)revealed a solitary mass in the upper lobe of the right lung,with uneven radioactivity uptake and a maximum standardized uptake value of *** greyish-yellow specimen obtained following thoracoscopic resection was covered with small multinodulated structures and consisted of soft *** and eosin staining revealed spindle-shaped malignant tumor *** indicated these tumor cells were CD99 and ***,the FISH test revealed synovial sarcoma translocation genetic reassortment,which confirmed the diagnosis of *** PPSS is extremely rare and tends to be misdiagnosed as many primary pulmonary ***-CT,histologic analysis,and FISH tests can be used to differentiate PPSS from other *** resection is regularly recommended for the treatment of solitary PPSS and is helpful for improving the prognosis.

Better understanding of genotype-by-environment interaction （GEI） is expected to provide a solid foundation for genetic improvement of crop productivity especially under drought-prone environments. To elucidate the genetic basis of the plant and ear height, 2 F2：3 populations were derived from the crosses of Qi 319 × Huangzaosi （Q/H） and Ye 478 × Huangzaosi （Y/H） with 230 and 235 families, respectively, and their parents were evaluated under 3 diverse environments in Henan, Beijing, and Xinjiang, China during the year of 2007 and 2008, and all the lines were also evaluated under water stress environment. The mapping results showed that a total of 21 and 12 QTLs were identified for plant height in the Q/H and Y/H population, respectively, and 24 and 13 QTLs for ear height, respectively. About 56 and 73% of the QTLs for 2 traits did not present significant QTL-by-environment interaction （QE1） in the normal joint analyses for Q/H and Y/H population, respectively, and about 73% of the QTLs detected did not show significant QEI according to joint analyses for stress condition in Q/H. Most of the detected major QTLs exhibited high stability across different environments. Besides, several major QTLs were detected with large and consistent effect under normal condition （Chr. 6 and 7 in Q/H; Chr. 1, 3 and 9 in Y/H）, or across 2 water regimes （Chr. 1, 8 and 10 for in Q/H）. There were several constitutive QTLs （3 for Q/H and 1 for Y/H） with no or minor QTL-by-environment for the 2 populations. Finally, we found several genomic regions （Chr. 1, 10, etc.） to be co-located across the populations, which could provide useful reference for genetic improvement of these traits in maize breeding programs. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that 3 genes/genetic segments associated with plant height in rice were orthologous to these 3 identified genomic regions carrying the major QTLs for plant and ear height on Chr. 1, 6, and 8, respectively.

Effects of process parameters and annealing on microstructure and properties of CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy coating prepared by plasma cladding

Plasma cladding was used to prepare a CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy(HEA)coating under different *** process parameters were optimized using an orthogonal experiment design based on surface morphology quality characteristics,dilution rate,and *** optimal process parameters were determined through range and variance analysis to be a cladding current of 70 A,a cladding speed of 7 cm·min^(-1),and a powder gas flow rate of 8 L·s^(-1).During the optimized experiments,both the cladded and annealed CoCrFeMnNi HEA coatings exhibit some pores,micro-voids,and a small amount of ***,the aggregation in the annealed coating is more dispersed than that in the cladded *** cladded CoCrFeMnNi HEA coating consists of simple FCC phases,while a new Cr-rich phase precipitates from the FCC matrix after annealing the coating at a temperature range of 550℃-950℃.After annealing at 850℃,the proportion of the FCC phase decreases compared to the cladded coating,and the number of large-angle grain boundaries is significantly ***,the proportion of grains with sizes below 50μm increases from 61.7%to 74.3%.The micro-hardness and wear resistance of the cladded coating initially increases but then decreases with an increase in annealing temperature,indicating that appropriate annealing can significantly improve the mechanical properties of the CoCrFeMnNi HEA coatings by plasma *** micro-hardness of the CoCrFeMnNi HEA coatings after annealing at 650℃ increases to 274.82 HV_(0.2),while the friction coefficient decreases to below 0.595.

The morphology and kinetics evolution of the γ’(Ni3 Al)phase during re-dissolution are studied in Ni-15 at% Al alloy,the changes of volume fraction and average particle radius of theγ’phase were clarified with phasefield *** isothermal aging,the interdistance of the neighboringγ’phase affects the interface concentration gradient of Al,which dominates the growth or redissolution of the γ’phase *** isothermal aging at 700 K,the alloy is continuously heated to 900 K with different heating rates,the re-dissolution lag happens,meaning the coalescence coarsening of adjacent γ’phase particles still proceeds at the initial heating *** predissolution of γ’phase with cubic shape is re-dissolved firstly at the edges and corners,in continuous heating to 900 K or by second-order aging from 700 to 900 *** from continuous heating,in the second-order aging process,the connected particles with band shape are broken initially by *** different heating rates,the similar dynamic relationships are abstracted for the volume fraction and the heating rates,and the average particle radius and the heating rates.

Potassium-ion hybrid capacitors(PIHCs)are widely regarded as highly promising energy storage devices,due to their exceptional energy density,impressive power density,and abundant potassium ***,restricted by the inherent capacitive storage mechanism,the carbon cathodes possess a much lower specific capacity than battery-type ***,designing high-performance carbon cathodes is extremely urgent for the development of ***,N,O codoped porous carbon(NOPC)was fabricated through the NaCl hard template method and combined KOH/melamine chemical activation technique,displaying the characteristics of abundant N/O content(4.7 at%/16.9 at%),ultrahigh specific surface area(3092 m^(2)g^(-1))and hierarchical pore *** designed NOPC cathode delivers a high specific capacity(164.4 mAh.g^(-1)at 0.05 A.g^(-1))and superior cyclability(95.1%retention ratio at 2 A·g^(-1)over 2500 cycles).Notably,the adjustable ratio of micropores to mesopores facilitates the achievement of the optimal bal-ance between capacity and rate ***,the pseudocapacitance can be further augmented through the incorporation of N/O functional *** expected,the graphite//NOPC based PIHC possesses a high energy density of 113 Wh·kg-at 747 W·kg^(-1)and excellent capacity retention of 84.4% fter 400 cycles at 1.0 A·g^(-1).This work introduces a novel strategy for designing carbon cathodes that enhances the electrochemical performance of PIHCs.

Yield and quality of maize stover: Variation among cultivars and effects of N fertilization

Biomass yields and concentrations of crude protein（CP）, ether extract（EE）, neutral detergent fiber（NDF）, acid detergent fiber（ADF）, and crude fiber（CF） were analyzed for five cultivars of summer-sown maize（Zea mays L.） stover grown in field trials at three rates of N fertilization, and sampled immediately after grain *** results revealed differences in yields and concentrations of nutrients according to stalk height and hence harvest portion among the cultivars.N application greatly increased biomass yield and CP, especially in upper stalks and to a lesser extent, *** of NDF and ADF decreased as N rate *** results show that stovers from all local popular maize cultivars are suitable as animal fodder and that moderate N application improves feed quality of stover.

Nickel-based superalloy lattice sandwich structures present higher stiffness,higher strength and higher temperature resistance in comparison with other *** this study,the Kagome unit was adopted to design the lattice sandwich structure and ProCAST software was used to simulate the filling and solidification processes of the nickel-based *** morphology and sizes of the nickel-based superalloy lattice sandwich structures were simulated by using of cellular automaton coupled with finite element model(CAFE),and indirect additive manufacture combining with investment casting were carried out to fabricate the nickel-based superalloy lattice sandwich *** calculated grain morphology and sizes are in good agreement with the experimental *** grains are mainly equiaxed with an average size of about 500µ*** simulated results also show that the superheat of melting and the mold preheated temperature have significant influence on the grain size of the Kagome lattice sandwich structures,lower superheat of melting and mold preheated temperatures are encouraged to obtain the fine grains while assuring the integrity of the Kagome lattice sandwich structures for industrial application.

Effect of Sintering Temperature on the Texturing Behavior of NaCo_2O_(4-δ) Synthesized by Urea Auto-Combustion Method

Polycrystalline NaCo2O4-δ materials were prepared using the urea auto-combustion method. The reaction process and crystal growth were investigated through X-ray diffraction （XRD）, thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis （TG-DTA）, and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry （FTIR）. The results indicate that the formation temperature of NaCo2O4-δ is about 620℃, which is lower than that for solid-state reaction. XRD results show that the texturing along c-axis occurred as the powders calcined at 700℃ were pressed into pellets with subsequently sintering, and the degree of such texturing increases with increasing sintering temperature. Surface morphologies by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） also indicate that the texturing show dependence on sintering temperature. The grains on the surfaces of the pellets sintered at 750 and 850℃ have some growth trend along a-b planes, while the grains on the surface of the pellet sintered at 950℃ show an obvious growth trend toward c-axis.
