Activation of peroxymonosulfate by sustainable biomass-based carbon nanotubes for controlling the spread of plant viruses in water environments

With the increasing demand for water in hydroponic systems and agricultural irrigation,viral diseases have seriously affected the yield and quality of *** removing plant viruses in water environments,virus transmission can be prevented and agricultural production and ecosystems can be *** so far,there have been few reports on the removal of plant viruses in water ***,in this study,easily recyclable biomass-based carbon nanotubes catalysts were synthesized with varying metal activities to activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS).Among them,the magnetic 0.125Fe@NCNTs-1/PMS system showed the best overall removal performance against pepper mild mottle virus,with a 5.9 log_(10)removal within 1 ***,the key reactive species in the 0.125Fe@NCNTs-1/PMS system is^(1)O_(2),which can maintain good removal effect in real water matrices(river water and tap water).Through RNA fragment analyses and label free analysis,it was found that this system could effectively cleave virus particles,destroy viral proteins and expose their *** capsid protein of pepper mild mottle virus was effectively decomposed where serine may be the main attacking sites by^(1)O_(2).Long viral RNA fragments(3349 and 1642 nt)were cut into smaller fragments(∼160 nt)and caused their *** summary,this study contributes to controlling the spread of plant viruses in real water environment,which will potentially help protect agricultural production and food safety,and improve the health and sustainability of ecosystems.

Effects of ＂Phone Consultation＂ to Mental Status and Quality of Life of Patients with Cancer-related Pain and Physicians＇ Work and Life

We told all patients or their family my mobile phone number when they came to my clinic first time, and informed that they could call me to consult if necessary, and we wrote down their consulting times and duration of each call of every patient, the content of patient's complaint, mental status and quality of life of each patient, and recorded the effects of "phone consultation" to physicians' work and life. All patients and their family accepted my mobile phone number and agreed that they would call me in demand. 753 times of phone consultation from patients or their family had been shown on " incoming call " of my mobile phone during 2 years (730days), 1.03 times per day on an average. "Phone consultation" had given patients with cancerrelated pain the sense of safety, comfort for mental status, and improved their quality of life. And "phone consultation" had not affected physician's work and life too much.

Systematic experimental investigation on pressure build-up characteristics of water-jet injection into a molten LBE pool

In the scenario of a steam generator tube rupture accident in a lead-cooled fast reactor,secondary circuit subcooled water under high pressure is injected into an ordinary-pressure primary vessel,where a molten lead-based alloy(typically pure lead or lead-bismuth eutectic(LBE))is used as the *** clarify the pressure build-up characteristics under water-jet injection,this study conducted several experiments by injecting pressurized water into a molten LBE pool at Sun Yat-sen *** obtain a further understanding,several new experimental parameters were adopted,including the melt temperature,water subcooling,injection pressure,injection duration,and nozzle *** detailed analyses,it was found that the pressure and temperature during the water-melt interaction exhibited a consistent variation trend with our previous water-droplet injection mode LBE ***,the existence of a steam explosion was confirmed,which typically results in a much stronger pressure *** the non-explosion cases,increasing the injection pressure,melt-pool temperature,nozzle diameter,and water subcooling promoted pressure build-up in the melt ***,a limited enhancement effect was observed when increasing the injection duration,which may be owing to the continually rising pressure in the interaction vessel or the isolation effect of the generated steam *** of whether a steam explosion occurred,the calculated mechanical and kinetic energy conversion efficiencies of the melt were relatively small(not exceeding 4.1%and 0.7%,respectively).Moreover,the range of the conversion efficiency was similar to that of previous water-droplet experiments,although the upper limit of the jet mode was slightly lower.

The gas explosion in residential building has always been a highly concerned *** in homogeneous mixtures have been extensively ***,mixtures are often inhomogeneous in the practical scenarios due to the differences in the densities of methane and *** order to investigate the effects of gas explosions in inhomogeneous mixtures,experimental studies involving gas leakage and explosion are conducted in a full-scale residential building to reproduce the process of gas *** fitting the dimensionless buoyancy as a function of dimensionless height and dimensionless time,a distribution model of gas in large-scale spaces is established,and the mechanism of inhomogeneous distribution of methane is also be ***,the stratified reconstruction method(SRM)is introduced for efficiently setting up inhomogeneous concentration fields in *** simulation results highlight that for the internal overpressure,the distribution of methane has no effect on the first overpressure peak(ΔP1),while it significantly influences the subsequent overpressure peak(ΔP2),and the maximum difference between the overpressure of homogeneous and inhomogeneous distribution is174.3%.Moreover,the initial concentration distribution also has a certain impact on the external overpressure.

Adsorption and retention of fracturing fluid and its impact on gas transport in tight sandstone with different clay minerals

To elucidate the adsorption characteristics and retention mechanisms of fracturing fluids in diverse clay minerals, we conducted on-line nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) and atomic force microscopy(AFM)experiments. The depth and extent of solid phase damage are determined by the ratio between the size of fine fractions in fracturing fluid residue and the pore-throat size in experiments. Poor physical properties(K 0.5 m D) combined with a scattered distribution of retained fracturing fluid is associated with high gas phase recovery permeability, whereas a continuous sheet-like distribution results in low recovery permeability. The expansive surface area and presence of filamentous illite minerals facilitate the multiple winding and adsorption of fracturing fluids, demonstrating strong hydrogen-bonding, multi-layering and multiple adsorption properties. The geological characteristics of the main gas formations exhibit significant variation, and the severity of damage caused by fracturing fluids occurs in diverse sequences. To address this issue, a differentiated strategy for optimizing fracturing fluids has been proposed.

A monolithic 3D IGZO-RRAM-SRAM-integrated architecture for robust and efficient compute-in-memory enabling equivalent-ideal device metrics

Compute-in-memory(CIM) based on various devices such as static random access memory(SRAM) and resistive random access memory(RRAM) and other emerging devices such as indium-gallium-zinc-oxide(IGZO) transistor, magnetoresistive RAM(MRAM), and ferroelectric RAM(FeRAM) has been explored for better performance and energy efficiency on neural networks applications. However, CIM based on a single-type device suffers a variety of non-ideal metrics to reach the simultaneous optimal accuracy, density, and energy efficiency. This work presents equivalent-ideal CIM(Eq-CIM), a monolithic 3D(M3D) IGZO-RRAM-SRAM integrated architecture for robust and efficient compute-in-memory enabling equivalent-ideal device metrics. To overcome the non-ideality(variation, endurance, temperature, etc.) of the single-type devices, system-technology co-optimization(STCO) is performed. This work highlights the non-ideality-aware functionality breakdown for robust high accuracy and simultaneous high density/efficiency, by utilizing 2T0C IGZO for temporal activation storage, RRAM for high-density weight storage, and SRAM for accurate CIM. Device-to-algorithm variation transfer is applied to analyze the system-level accuracy. We benchmark Eq-CIM architecture on CIFAR-10/ImageNet, with 5.06× storage density and 5.05×/2.45× area/energy efficiency compared with single-type-device-based CIM, and high robustness(<0.27% accuracy loss) from-40℃ to 120℃.

Mutual-structure weighted guided image filtering for depth map restoration

Although guided image filtering(GIF) is known for preserving edges and fast computation,it may produce inaccurate outputs in depth map *** this paper,a novel confidence-weighted GIF called mutual-structure weighted GIF(MSWGIF) is proposed,which replaces the mean filtering strategy in GIF during handling overlapping *** confidence value is composed of a depth term and a mutual-structure term,where the depth term is utilized to protect the edges of the output,and the mutual-structure term helps to select accurate windows during the structure characteristics of the guidance image are transferred to the *** results show that MSWGIF reduces the root mean square error(RMSE) by an average of 12.37%,and the average growth rate of correlation(CORR) is 0.07% on ***,the average growth rate of structure similarity index measure(SSIM) is 0.34%.

Heart rate variability(HRV)that can reflect the dynamic balance between the sympathetic nervous and parasympathetic nervous of human autonomic nervous system(ANS)has attracted considerable ***,traditional electrocardiogram(ECG)devices for HRV analysis are bulky,and hard wires are needed to attach measuring electrodes to the chest,resulting in the poor wearable experience during the long-term *** with that,wearable electronics enabling continuously cardiac signals monitoring and HRV assessment provide a desirable and promising approach for helping subjects determine sleeping issues,cardiovascular diseases,or other threats to physical and mental *** now,significant progress and advances have been achieved in wearable electronics for HRV monitoring and applications for predicting human physical and mental *** this review,the latest progress in the integration of wearable electronics and HRV analysis as well as practical applications in assessment of human physical and mental health are *** commonly used methods and physiological signals for HRV analysis are briefly ***,we highlighted the research on wearable electronics concerning HRV assessment and diverse applications such as stress estimation,drowsiness detection,***,the current limitations of the integrated wearable HRV system are concluded,and possible solutions in such a research direction are outlined.

To the Editor:We read with great interest the recent article by Balci et al.[1].In the study,the authors mentioned that their mixed reality(MR)technology has already successfully been applied in open and laparoscopic living donor hepatectomy and in complex laparoscopic liver *** such operations,the MR models of the liver are pulled out and superimposed onto the actual *** can verify the relationship between tumors and crucial areas in order to enhance margin clearance and R0 resection and reduce the risk of injuring major blood *** applying MR(including augmented reality)technology,blood vessels and tumor structures in the liver can be displayed during surgery,which permits precise navigation during complex surgical *** MR was used in surgical education,and most learners believed that 3D models were useful in planning safer surgical paths,reducing intraoperative complications and training of young surgeons[2].

Design and preparation of a sintered Nd-Y-Fe-B magnet with high magnetic properties via multi-main-phase process and subsequent grain boundary diffusion

A sintered Nd-Y-Fe-B magnet was designed and manufactured by the multi-main-phase *** distributed Y in the magnet decreases the adverse magnetic weakening effect of Y on the *** boundary diffusion process(GBDP)was conducted to further enhance the coercivity of the Nd-Y-Fe-B *** coercivity increases significantly from 884 to 1741 kA/m after GBDP with Pr_(60)Tb_(10)Cu_(30)*** mechanism of the coercivity enhancement is discussed based on the microstructure *** simulation reveals that when the diffused Tb-rich shell thickness is lower than 12 nm the c-plane shell(perpendicular to the c-axis)is much more effective in enhancing the coercivity than the side plane shell(parallel to the c-axis).But when the Tb-rich shell thickness is above12 nm the side plane shell contributes more to the coercivity *** results in this work can help to design and manufacture Nd-Fe-B magnets with low cost and high magnetic properties.
