Insights into microscopic oil occurrence characteristics in shales from the Paleogene Funing Formation in Subei Basin, China

The microscopic occurrence characteristics primarily constrain the enrichment and mobility of shale *** study collected the lacustrine shales from the Palaeogene Funing Formation in the Gaoyou Sag, Subei Basin. Conventional and multistage Rock-Eval, scanning electron microscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) T1-T2were performed to analyze the contents and occurrence characteristics of shale oil. Low-temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption(LTNA/D) experiments were conducted on the shales before and after extraction. The relationships between shale oil occurrence with organic matter and pore structures were then discussed. Predominantly, the shale oil in the Funing Formation is found within fractures, with secondary occurrences in interparticle pores linked to brittle minerals and sizeable intraparticle pores associated with clay minerals. The selected shales can be categorized into two types based on the nitrogen isotherms. Type A shales are characterized by high contents of felsic and calcareous minerals but low clay minerals, with larger TOC and shale oil values. Conversely, Type B shales are marked by abundant clay minerals but diminished TOC and shale oil contents. The lower BET specific surface area(SSA), larger average pore diameter, and simpler pore surfaces and pore structures lead to the Type A shales being more conducive to shale oil enrichment and mobility. Shale oil content is predominantly governed by the abundance of organic matter, while an overabundance of organic matter typically equates to a reduced ratio of free oil and diminished fluidity. The BET SSA, volumes of pores less than 25 and 100 nm at extracted state all correlate negatively with total and adsorbed oil contents but display no correlation with free oil, while they have positive relationships with capillary-bound ***, pore water is mainly saturated in micropores(<25 nm) and minipores(25-100 nm), as well as adsorbed oil, while free oil, i.e., bound and movable

抗生素具有高水溶性、高化学稳定性、潜在致癌性、明显的生态毒性和难以生物降解等特点,对水环境的可持续性和人类健康构成了严重威胁。因此,建立有效去除水中的抗生素污染物的方法至关重要。磁性生物炭复合材料因其优异的过硫酸盐活化催化能力和可回收性,在抗生素污染物的氧化降解方面受到广泛关注。本文综述了磁性生物炭复合材料活化过硫酸盐降解抗生素的研究进展。首先,总结了不同生物质来源的磁性生物炭复合材料及其常用制备方法。然后,探讨了磁性生物炭复合材料活化过硫酸盐降解抗生素类污染物的机制及其对不同类型抗生素的降解行为。最后,针对目前抗生素污染引起的其他问题,提出了未来研究的挑战和展望。

Activity and Stoichiometry of Soil Enzymes in Aggregates of Different Soil Types in Subtropical Forests

To reveal the differences in soil microbial nutrient limitation and nutrient availability at the aggregate scale of soil types in a subtropical forest in China,the O/A horizon(0-3 cm and 0-7 cm,respectively)and AB horizon(below O/A horizon to 20 cm depth)of typical acidic red soil and neutral limestone soil in Northern guangxi were studied. The activities of carbon-acquiring enzymes(sucrase,amylase,β-1,4-glucosidase(BG)),nitrogen-acquiring enzymes(urease,β-1,4-N-acetyl-glucosaminidase(NAG),leucine amino peptidase(LAP)),and phosphorus-acquiring enzymes(phytase and acid phosphatase(AP))in different aggregate sizes were determined to reveal the variation in soil enzyme stoichiometry characteristics. The results showed that the limestone soil had higher nitrogen-acquiring enzyme activity compared to that in the red soil,with urease,NAG,and LAP activities being 38.84%,123.89%,and 4.06% higher,respectively. The differences in carbon- and phosphorus-acquiring enzyme activities between the two soils were not significant. The overall soil enzyme activities in the O/A horizon were higher than in the AB horizon for both red soil and limestone soil. Soil total organic carbon and pH were identified as key factors influencing soil enzyme activities. Multi-omics analysis and experimental verification reveal testicular fatty acid metabolism disorder in non-obstructive azoospermia

Increasing evidence implicates disruptions in testicular fatty acid metabolism as a contributing factor in nonobstructive azoospermia(NOA), a severe form of male infertility. However, the precise mechanisms linking fatty acid metabolism to NOA pathogenesis have not yet been fully elucidated. Multi-omics analyses, including microarray analysis, single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq), and metabolomics, were utilized to investigate disruptions in fatty acid metabolism associated with NOA using data from public databases. Results identified ACSL6, ACSBG2, and OLAH as key genes linked to fatty acid metabolism dysregulation, suggesting their potential causative roles in NOA. A marked reduction in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially docosahexaenoic acid(DHA), was observed, potentially contributing to the pathological process of NOA. Sertoli cells in NOA patients exhibited apparent fatty acid metabolic dysfunction, with PPARG identified as a key transcription factor(TF) regulating this process. Functional analyses demonstrated that PPARG is crucial for maintaining blood-testis barrier(BTB) integrity and promoting spermatogenesis via regulation of fatty acid metabolism. These findings reveal the pivotal role of fatty acid metabolism in NOA and identify PPARG as a potential therapeutic target.
