To the Editor:Medicinal plants have the ability to synthesize a large number of pharmaceutical metabolites,the production and regulation of which are influenced by both intrinsic signals(e.g.,the spatial and temporal stage)and extrinsic environmental conditions(e.g.,temperature,light availability,and water availability)*** to the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements(ENCODE)project2,accessible chromatin regions(ACRs)served essential roles in maintaining the genome architecture and gene regulation in both mammals and ***,identifying ACRs within medicinal plant genomes remains a challenge,as genomic sequences have been determined for numerous species yet the characterization of such functional elements *** this study,we selected Andrographis paniculata(APA)3 as a model system to map ACRs genome-wide by the assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing(ATAC-seq)*** aimed to uncover the genomic features of ACRs as well as their association with the expression of genes involved in secondary metabolite biosynthesis(e.g.,andrographolide)within medicinal plants(Supporting Information Fig.S1).

The Li-Mg-B-H composite(2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2))has a high capacity of 11.4 wt%as a hydrogen storage ***,the slow kinetics and poor cycling stability severely restrict its practical *** this work,a layered Nb_(2)C MXene was first synthesized and then introduced to tailor the kinetics and cycling stability of the Li-Mg-B-H *** milled 2LiH+MgB_(2)composites were initially hydrogenated to obtain the 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2)*** 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5wt%Nb_(2)C can release 9.0 wt%H_(2)in 30 min at 400℃,while it is only 2.7 wt%for the undoped 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2).The dehydrogenation activation energies of MgH_(2)and LiBH_(4)are 123 and 154 kJ·mol^(-1)respectively for the 5 wt%Nb_(2)C-doped composite,lower than the undoped composite(164 and 165 kJ·mol^(-1)).The 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5 wt%Nb_(2)C possesses excellent cycling stability,with the reversible capacity only slightly reduced from 9.4 wt%for the 1st cycle to 9.3 wt%for the 20th ***_(2)C keeps stable in the composite and acts as an efficient catalyst for the Li-Mg-B-H *** is believed that both the layered structure and the active Nb element contribu te to the enhanced hydrogen storage performances of the Li-Mg-B-H *** work confirms that the Nb_(2)C MXene with layered stru cture has a significant enhancing impact on the Li-Mg-B-H hydrogen storage materials,which is different from the bulk NbC.

Nomogram predicting the prognosis of primary liver cancer after radiofrequency ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization

Placental site trophoblastic tumor(PSTT),a rare gestational trophoblastic neoplasm(GTN),exhibits slow growth,late-onset metastasis,and chemotherapy insensitivity[1,2].The invasive capacity of trophoblasts induces angiogenesis in PSTT,yet the specific mechanism remains unclear[3].PSTT is typically resistant to chemotherapy and hysterectomy stands as the primary therapeutic choice for patients with an overall cure rate of approximately 75%-80%[4,5].Therefore,investigating the precise emergence and progression of PSTT is crucial,aiming to identify novel targets for diagnosis and therapy.

Few-shot skin cancer detection based on many-objective optimization

Due to the long-tailed distribution characteristics of skin cancer data, quickly identifying rare skin disease samples with small amounts of data becomes a challenging few-shot problem. The detection method based on meta-learning can quickly learn meta-knowledge from the majority of common classes skin disease classes and use prior knowledge to improve the model’s ability to detect rare skin diseases. However, the bias in the quality and distribution of public skin cancer categories leads to the risk of overfitting in the pre-training phase of meta-learning, and meta-learning models based on traditional networks struggle to handle fine-grained skin disease problems. Affronting this issue, a many-objective meta-learning skin cancer detection model is proposed. The proposed model optimizes the distribution of common classes (base classes) by considering various classification performances of the skin cancer detection model, thus obtaining quality-enhanced training samples. And it adopts the ResNet12 network structure integrated with the CCNet attention model, which can significantly enhance the ability to identify fine-grained skin lesion images. Additionally,an improved many-objective optimization algorithm with discrete grouping strategy is designed to efficiently solve the proposed model. Some experiments are conducted on two public medical datasets, ⅠSCⅠ2018 and Derm7pt. The proposed many-objective skin detection model achieves detection accuracies of 67 %, 79 %, and 82 % respectively on binary classification tasks with 1-shot, 3-shot, and 5-shot learning,which validates the effectiveness of the model. © 2024 Northeast University. Background Pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis(AAV)is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis featured by liability to renal ***,there are few studies on the risk factors and predictive models for renal outcomes of AAV in *** Data from 179 AAV children in multiple centers between January 2012 and March 2020 were collected *** risk factors and predictive model of end-stage renal disease(ESRD)in AAV were *** Renal involvement was the most typical manifestation(95.5%),and the crescent was the predominant pathological lesion(84.9%).The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was evaluated in 114 patients,of whom 59.6%developed ESRD,and the median time to ESRD was 3.20 *** eGFR[P=0.006,odds ratio(OR)=0.955,95%confidence interval(CI)=0.924–0.987]and the percentages of global glomerulosclerosis(pGGS;P=0.018,OR=1.060,95%CI=1.010–1.112)were independent risk factors for ESRD of renal *** on the pGGS and eGFR at renal biopsy,we developed three risk grades of ESRD and one predictive *** Kaplan‒Meier curve indicated that renal outcomes were significantly different in different risk grades(Phe predictive model had higher accuracy(0.86 versus 0.58,Phe most common manifestation of pediatric AAV in China,of which more than half deteriorates into *** predictive model based on eGFR at renal biopsy and the pGGS may be stable and accurate in speculating the risk of ESRD in AAV children.

Fission fragments yields and average total kinetic energy are fundamental nuclear data for nuclear energy applications and the study of nuclear *** fission products,such as ^(95)Zr,^(99)Mo,^(140)Ba,^(144)Ce,and ^(147)Nd,serve as burnup monitors,assessing the number of fissions induced by neutrons on ^(235)***,current experimental data for these fission products worldwide are inconsistent,introducing significant uncertainty into related scientific *** this study,we employed the Potential-driving Model to calculate the independent yields of ^(235)U and evaluate its advantages in such ***,we investigated the energy dependence of independent yields to select important ***,we calculated the cumulative yields of ^(95)Zr,^(99)Mo,^(140)Ba,^(144)Ce,and ^(147)Nd,and compared them with existing literature data to explore the energy dependence of fission products for ^(235)*** the lack of fission product yield data above 14.8 MeV,we extended our calculated incident neutron energy to 20 MeV,aiming to support future scientific *** Geant4 physical model does not consider the influence of incident neutron energy on the average total kinetic energy of fission fragments;thus,we introduced the excitation function of the total kinetic energy of fission fragments recommended by Madland et al.,which effectively describes the experimental data of the average total kinetic energy of fragments formed in ^(235)U *** this paper,we comprehensively discuss the energy dependence of fission product yields and average total kinetic energy.
