Mechanical properties and thermal deformation behavior of low-cost titanium matrix composites prepared by a structure-optimized Y_(2)O_(3) crucible

A porous yttrium oxide crucible with both thermal shock resistance and erosion resistance was developed by structural *** structure-optimized yttrium oxide crucible was proved to be suitable for melting highly reactive titanium ***-cost(TiB+Y2O_(3))-reinforced titanium matrix composites were prepared by vacuum induction melting using the prepared *** thermal deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of(TiB+Y2O_(3))-reinforced tita-nium matrix composites were investigated at deformation temperatures of 900-1100℃with strain rates of 0.001-1 *** results showed that the prepared yttrium oxide crucible had both thermal shock and erosion resistance,the low-cost titanium matrix composites could be prepared by the developed yttrium oxide crucibles which were homogeneous in composition and highly sensitive to strain rate and deformation temperature,and the peak and theological stresses decreased with increasing deformation temperature or decreasing strain *** addition,the average thermal deformation activation energy of the composites was calculated to be 574.6 kJ/mol by establishing the Arrhenius constitutive equation in consideration of the strain variables,and the fitting goodness between the predicted stress value and the measured value was 97.624%.The calculated analysis of the hot processing map showed that the best stable thermal deformation zone was located in the deformation temperature range of 1000-1100℃and strain rate range of 0.001-0.01 s^(-1),where the peak dissipation coefficient wasη=71%.In this zone,the deformation of the reinforcement and matrix was harmonious,the reinforcement was less likely to fracture,dynamic recrystallization occurred more fully and the alloy exhibited near steady rheological characteristics.

Evaluation of Nonbreaking Wave-Induced Mixing Parameterization Schemes Based on a One-Dimensional Ocean Model

Surface waves have a considerable effect on vertical mixing in the upper *** the past two decades,the vertical mixing induced through nonbreaking surface waves has been used in ocean and climate models to improve the simulation of the upper *** far,several nonbreaking wave-induced mixing parameterization schemes have been proposed;however,no quantitative comparison has been performed among *** this paper,a one-dimensional ocean model was used to compare the performances of five schemes,including those of Qiao et al.(Q),Hu and wang(HW),Huang and Qiao(HQ),Pleskachevsky et al.(P),and Ghantous and Babanin(GB).Similar to previous studies,all of these schemes can decrease the simulated sea surface temperature(SST),increase the subsurface temperature,and deepen the mixed layer,thereby alleviating the common thermal deviation problem of the ocean model for upper ocean *** these schemes,the HQ scheme exhibited the weakest wave-induced mixing effect,and the HW scheme exhibited the strongest effect;the other three schemes exhibited roughly the same *** particular,the Q and P schemes exhibited nearly the same *** the simulation based on observations from the Ocean Weather Station Papa,the HQ scheme exhibited the best performance,followed by the Q *** the experiment with the HQ scheme,the root-mean-square deviation of the simulated SST from the observations was 0.43℃,and the mixed layer depth(MLD)was 2.0 *** a contrast,the deviations of the SST and MLD reached 1.25℃ and 8.4 m,respectively,in the experiment without wave-induced mixing.

An interesting synergistic effect of heteronuclear dual-atom catalysts for hydrogen production:Offsetting or promoting

To elucidate the synergistic effect of dual-atom catalysts(DACs)at the microscopic level,we propose and construct a prototype heteronuclear system,CuNi/TiO_(2),in which the two elements of a pair have significantly different d electron-donating abilities,as a piece in the *** density functional theory calculations,we investigate charge-dependent configurations of Cu-Ni dimers anchored on TiO_(2)by the mixing of individual constituent *** d electron-donating ability determines deposition sequence and position of transition metal atoms on oxides,establishing dimer pattern and metal-support *** interaction between Cu and Ni,beyond the coordination environment,predominately contributes to the synergistic effect.A complex adsorption-reduction behavior of H species on CuNi/TiO_(2)is *** reaction mechanism and catalytic activity of CuNi/TiO_(2)for hydrogen production are *** room temperature and high H coverages,CuNi/TiO_(2)shows better performance and efficiency than Ni1/TiO_(2).Our findings provide a new understanding of the synergistic effect on structure-activity relationships of supported dimers,which would be beneficial in the future design of various DACs or even atomically dispersed metal catalysts.

Effect of Mo content on the thermal stability of Ti-Mo-bearing ferritic steel

The effects of tempering holding time at 700℃on the morphology,mechanical properties,and behavior of nanoparticles in Ti-Mo ferritic steel with different Mo contents were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** equilibrium solid solution amounts of Mo,Ti,and C in ferritic steel at various temperatures were calculated,and changes in the sizes of nanoparticles over time at different Mo contents were *** experimental results and theoretical calculations were in good agreement with each other and showed that the size of nanoparticles in middle Mo content nano-ferrite(MNF)steel changed the least during *** Mo contents inhibited the maturation and growth of nanoparticles,but no obvious inhibitory effect was observed when the Mo content exceeded 0.37wt%.The tensile strength and yield strength continuously decreased with the tempering *** of the strengthening and toughening mechanisms showed that the different mechanical properties among the three different Mo content experiment steels were mainly determined by grain refinement strengthening(the difference range was 30-40 MPa)and precipitation strengthening(the difference range was 78-127 MPa).MNF steel displayed an ideal chemical ratio and the highest thermodynamic stability,whereas low Mo content nano-ferrite(LNF)steel and high Mo content nano-ferrite(HNF)steel displayed relatively similar thermodynamic stabilities.

Effects of surface energy and substrate on modulus determination of biological films by conical indentation

Micro-/nano-indentation has become prevalent in evaluating the mechanical characteristics of biological samples,such as cells and ***,the existing contact models describing conical indentation ignore the joint effects of surface energy and substrate,and consequently cannot accurately extract the Young's modulus of biological samples deposited on *** finite element methods,we examine the conical indentation of biological films on substrates while taking surface energy into *** on the dimensional analysis,the explicit relationship between load and indentation depth is achieved for films with their moduli varying from 0.001 to 100 times that of the *** the classical Sneddon's model was employed to analyze the load-depth data,the measured modulus could reach 18 times the real modulus for films on harder substrates,but only 4%of the real modulus for films on softer ***,in micro-/nano-indentations,neglecting the contribution of surface energy would result in an overestimation of the Young's modulus of films depending on the contact *** analytical expression provided here can be utilized to precisely deduce the mechanical characteristics of biological films deposited on substrate from the load and indentation depth data of a conical indentation.

A universal multifunctional dual cation doping strategy towards stabilized ultra-high nickel cobalt-free lithium layered oxide cathode

Ultra-high nickel cobalt-free lithium layered oxides are promising cathode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)because of their relatively high capacity and low ***,the high nickel content would induce bulk structure degradation and interfacial environment deterioration,and the absence of Co element reduces the lithium diffusion kinetics,severely limiting the performance liberation of this kind of ***,a multifunctional Ti/Zr dual cation co-doping strategy has been employed to improve the lithium storage performance of LiNi_(0.9)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NM91)*** the one hand,the Ti/Zr co-doping weakens the Li^(+)/Ni^(2+)mixing through magnetic interactions due to the inexistence of unpaired electrons for Ti^(4+)and Zr^(4+),increasing the lithium diffusion rate and suppressing the harmful coexistence of H1 and H2 *** the other hand,they enhance the lattice oxygen stability because of the strong Ti-O and Zr-O bonds,inhibiting the undesired H3 phase transition and lattice oxygen loss,improving the bulk structure and cathode-electrolyte interface *** a result,the Ti/Zr co-doped NM91(NMTZ)exhibits a 91.2%capacity retention rate after 100 cycles,while that of NM91 is only82.9%.Also,the NMTZ displays better rate performance than NM91 with output capacities of 115 and93 mA h g^(-1)at a high current density of 5 C,***,the designed NMTZ could enable the full battery to deliver an energy density up to 263 W h kg^(-1),making the ultra-high nickel cobaltfree lithium layered oxide cathode closer to practical applications.

Spatial covariant gravity with two degrees of freedom in the presence of an auxiliary scalar field:Perturbation analysis

We investigate a class of gravity theories respecting only spatial covariance,termed spatially covariant gravity,in the presence of an auxiliary scalar *** examine the conditions on the Lagrangian required to eliminate scalar degrees of freedom,allowing only two tensorial degrees of freedom to *** of strict constraint analysis,in this paper,we employ the perturbation method and focus on the necessary conditions to evade the scalar mode at the linear order in perturbations around a cosmological *** with a general action and solving the auxiliary perturbation variables in terms of a would-be dynamical scalar mode,we derive the condition to remove its kinetic term,thus ensuring that no scalar mode *** an application of the general condition,we study a polynomial-type Lagrangian as a concrete example,in which all monomials are spatially covariant scalars containing two *** find that the auxiliary scalar field is essential,and new terms in the Lagrangian are *** analysis provides insights into constructing gravity theories with two degrees of freedom in the extended framework of spatially covariant gravity.

Efficacy of scraping therapy on blood pressure and sleep quality in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ essential hypertension: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Heat distribution model under hydrogen-rich low-carbon conditions in blast furnace

Low carbon development of blast furnaces is one of the key technological directions in the current development of *** to the differences in the physical and chemical properties of hydrogen and carbon,hydrogen-rich media entering a blast furnace will change the heat distribution,thus affecting the stability of ***,a heat distribution model was proposed to study the temperature distribution in a blast furnace,simultaneously considering gas-solid heat exchange,slag and iron melting,and chemical *** model was used to analyze the temperature distribution of a 2300 m^(3) blast furnace and was verified via comparison with actual production ***,the effects of the injection rate of hydrogen-rich media,H2 concentration,and oxygen enrichment rate of the blast on the temperature distribution were *** indicated that the increase in the injection rate of the hydrogen-rich media decreased the amount of direct reduction and led to an increase in the furnace ***,an increase in the oxygen enrichment rate led to a decrease in the furnace temperature,but could reduce the solid fuel ratio,while the change in H2 concentration had less effect on the temperature *** combination of hydrogen-rich media injection and the increase in the oxygen enrichment rate would help to adjust the temperature distribution to the same level as the conventional blast furnace conditions.
