BACKGROUND Respiratory tract infections in the elderly are difficult to cure and can easily recur,thereby posing a great threat to patient prognosis and quality of *** To investigate the therapeutic effects of different antibiotics in elderly patients with respiratory tract *** Seventy-four elderly patients with respiratory tract infection were randomly allocated to a study(n=37;treated with cefoperazone sodium/sulbactam sodium)or control(n=37;treated with piperacillin sodium/tazobactam sodium on the basis of routine symptomatic support)*** groups were treated for 7 *** to symptom relief(leukocyte recovery;body temperature recovery;cough and sputum disappearance;and rale disappearance time),treatment effect,and laboratory indexes[procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),white blood cell count(WBC),and neutrophil percentage(NE)]before and 7 d after treatment and the incidence of adverse reactions were *** In the study group,the time to WBC normalization(6.79±2.09 d),time to body temperature normalization(4.15±1.08 d),time to disappearance of cough and sputum(6.19±1.56 d),and time to disappearance of rales(6.68±1.43 d)were shorter than those of the control group(8.89±2.32 d,5.81±1.33 d,8.77±2.11 d,and 8.69±2.12 d,respectively;P=0.000).Total effective rate was higher in the study group(94.59%vs 75.68%,P=0.022).Serum PCT(12.89±3.96μg/L),CRP(19.62±6.44 mg/L),WBC(20.61±6.38×10^(9)/L),and NE(86.14±7.21%)levels of the study group before treatment were similar to those of the control group(14.05±4.11μg/L,18.79±5.96 mg/L,21.21±5.59×10^(9)/L,and 84.39±6.95%,respectively)with no significant differences(P=0.220,0.567,0.668,and 0.291,respectively).After 7 d of treatment,serum PCT,CRP,WBC,and NE levels in the two groups were lower than those before *** PCT(2.01±0.56μg/L),CRP(3.11±1.02 mg/L),WBC(5.10±1.83×10^(9)/L),and NE(56.35±7.17%)levels were lower in the study group than in the control group(3.29±0.64μg/L,5.67±1.23 mg/L,8.

The solid phase reactions of Ni with GaAs substrates are *** experimental results reveal that the Ni-GaAs solid phase reaction forms a ternary phase of Ni2GaAs when annealing temperatures are in the range 250 300℃.As the annealing temperature increases to 400℃,the Ni2GaAs phase starts to decompose due to NiAs phase ***-GaAs alloys processed at 400℃ with a 3min annealing time demonstrate a sheet resistance of 30Ω/square after unreacted Ni removal in hot diluted-HCl ***,Ni-GaAs alloys formed by solid phase reaction could be promising metallic source/drain structures with significant low series resistance for high mobility Ⅲ-Ⅴ metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) applications.

The titanium alloys with highly chemical activity require stable crucible refractories that can withstand the erosion of alloy *** phase composition and microstructure are crucial factors that affect the stability of the refractory *** effect of Y_(2)O_(3) on the composition and microstructure of BaZrO_(3) crucible was systematically investigated,and the improved mechanism of the stability of BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible was clarified in comparison with the BaZrO_(3) *** results showed that the erosion layer thickness of the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible was only 63μm,which was far less than that in the BaZrO_(3) crucible(485μm),and the erosion layer in the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible also exhibited a higher density than that in the BaZrO_(3) *** the sintering,Y_(2)O_(3) could improve the densification of the BaZrO_(3) crucible due to the solid solution effect between Y_(2)O_(3) and ZrO_(2),which also caused the evaporation of BaO,resulting in the generation of a Y_(2)O_(3)(ZrO_(2))film on the surface of the ***,the Y_(2)O_(3)(ZrO_(2))had higher thermodynamic stability than Y_(2)O_(3),confirming that the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible with high density exhibited a superior erosion resistance to titanium *** dual-phase structure provides a strategy to design a long-life and stable refractory for melting titanium alloys.

In traditional Nd-Fe-B-based sintered magnets,the composition,role of each element and microstruc-tures have been extensively investigated globally since they were invented in ***,the effects of boron(B)content and post-sinter annealing(PSA)on the microstructure and magnetic properties have been least studied so far and the relative mechanisms are not yet *** this paper,we investigated the influence of B on the magnetic performance and microstructure of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets origi-nally containing copper(Cu),gallium(Ga)and titanium(Ti).It is shown that the intrinsic coercivity has a substantial increment of 2.86 kOe and the remanence has a slight reduction of 0.16 kGs when B content is reduced from 0.980 wt.%to 0.900 wt.%.Moreover,there is a coercivity increment of 27.3%and 65.3%for samples with 0.980 wt.%and 0.900 wt.%B content after PSA,*** is shown that the im-pacts of B content and PSA are significant and their regulation mechanisms are worthwhile to be studied ***,it is revealed by microstructural analysis that high coercivity of the sample with 0.900 wt.%B after PSA results from the uniform distribution of Ga,Cu,Nd,and the formation of RE 6(Fe,M)14(RE=Pr,Nd,M=Cu,Ga)compound in triple junction *** dilution of Fe content in grain boundary phases(GB phases)also plays an important *** is found out that decrease of the re-manence is mainly due to reduction of the matrix phase and c-axis alignment *** this study,we explored a new path to develop Nd-Fe-B-based sintered magnets with high comprehensive properties by novel approaches through varying B content,PSA technique and co-adding trace elements.

Slip rate and interseismic coupling along the Moxi-Shimian segment of the Xianshuihe fault, Eastern Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

On September 5,2022,the Luding M6.8 earthquake occurred in the Moxi-Shimian segment of the Xianshuihe fault,coinciding with the historical ruptured zone of the 1786 Moxi *** seis-mogenic environment provides a foundation for comprehending the mechanism of the earthquake and its future *** the Moxi-Shimian segment,we establish a series of near-field Global Navigation Satellite Systems(GNsS)stations to enhance the spatial resolution of observational data for the inversion of the interseismic kinematic *** this study,with an elastic screw dislocation model con-strained by GNsS observations,the slip rate of the Moxi-Shimian segment is estimated to be 10.9±1.0 mm/yr,while the locking depth is 15.7±6.2 ***,we utilize a block-dislocation model to invert the interseismic fault coupling along the Kangding-Moxi-Shimian *** result indicates a gradual deepening of the locking depth along the section from Kangding to *** coseismic rupture of the 2022 event occurred within the high coupling regions in the Kangding-Moxi-Shimian segment,which indicates that the rupture kinematics in this event might be controlled by the interseismic *** seismic moment accumulated within the ruptured zone of the Luding earthquake since 1786 ranges in[1.42-3.40]×10^(19) N-m,which is significantly greater than the seismic moment released during the 2022 *** a result,we infer that the Luding earthquake released only a portion of the accumulated energy within the original rupture zone since 1786,indicating that the 2022 event has not caused a complete rupture in the Moxi-Shimian ***,there remains a substantial seismic hazard in this area.

A comparative study of the aromaticity in some typical conjugated six-membered rings by the method of localized molecular orbital

The localized molecular orbitals and energy levels for four typical conjugated six-membered ring systems C_6H_6, C_3N_3H_3, B_3N_3H_6, and (B_3O_6)^(3-) as well as a non-aromatic reference molecule N_3Cl_6 have been calculated by using Edmiston-Ruedenberg energy localization technique under the CNDO/2 approximation in order to investigate the nature of aromaticity or quasi-aromaticity of the six-membered ring systems studied. The contour maps for π-type localized MO's (LMO) have been plotted to illustrate the bonding characteristics of the five ring systems studied. These LMO calculations show that for all the conjugated six-membered ring systems considered there exists local delocalization of π-bonds or three-centered and occasionally four-centered two-electron π-bonds in our terminology, and the cooperative effect among these π-bonds leading to the formation of a closed continuous x-conjugation system around the ring, which is necessary for the creation of aromaticity in the systems studied. We have been able to discuss the properties of these three-centered π-bonds in terms of the constituent atoms and electrons and the relevant orbitals involved.
