Graphene derivatives,such as graphene oxide(GO)and reduced graphene oxide(RGO),have been widely used as promising two-dimensional nanoscale building blocks due to their fascinating properties,cost-effective production,and good *** the intrinsic self-assembling,colloidal,and rheological features of graphene derivatives is of critical importance to establish the formation-structure-property relationship of graphene-based *** article reviews recent progresses in our studies of these interesting properties of graphene derivatives for developing high performance *** content is organized to include characteristics of the dispersions of graphene derivatives,self-assembly of nanosheets from liquid medium,colloidal behavior,rheological properties of the dispersions,processing methods based on the properties,and performance of the fabricated *** and RGO nanosheets are proved to form different types of assembled structures with unique morphologies,such as ultrathin layer-by-layer films,porous aggregates,and *** unique rheological properties of GO dispersions and hydrogels,feasible for both the traditional wet-processing and newly-developed technology like three-dimensional printing,are highlighted for their potential in structural manipulation and scalable fabrication of graphene-based *** research devoted to up-grading the performance of supercapacitors is presented in some details,which could be applicable for fabricating other graphene-based energy storage *** challenges and perspectives in our point of view are given in the last part of this feature article.

The mechanical behavior of cemented gangue backfill materials(CGBMs)is closely related to particle size distribution(PSD)of aggregates and properties of cementitious ***,the true triaxial compression tests,CT scanning,SEM,and EDS tests were conducted on cemented gangue backfill samples(CGBSs)with various carbon nanotube concentrations(P_(CNT))that satisfied fractal theory for the PSD of *** mechanical properties,energy dissipations,and failure mechanisms of the CGBSs under true triaxial compression were systematically *** results indicate that appropriate carbon nanotubes(CNTs)effectively enhance the mechanical properties and energy dissipations of CGBSs through micropore filling and microcrack bridging,and the optimal effect appears at P_(CNT)of 0.08wt%.Taking PSD fractal dimension(D)of 2.500 as an example,compared to that of CGBS without CNT,the peak strength(σ_(p)),axial peak strain(ε_(1,p)),elastic strain energy(Ue),and dissipated energy(U_(d))increased by 12.76%,29.60%,19.05%,and90.39%,***,excessive CNTs can reduce the mechanical properties of CGBSs due to CNT agglomeration,manifesting a decrease inρ_(p),ε_(1,p),and the volumetric strain increment(Δε_(v))when P_(CNT)increases from 0.08wt%to 0.12wt%.Moreover,the addition of CNTs improved the integrity of CGBS after macroscopic failure,and crack extension in CGBSs appeared in two modes:detour and pass through the ***σ_(p)and U_(d)firstly increase and then decrease with increasing D,and porosity shows the opposite ***ε_(1,p)andΔε_(v)are negatively correlated with D,and CGBS with D=2.150 has the maximum deformation parameters(ε_(1,p)=0.05079,Δε_(v)=0.01990)due to the frictional slip effect caused by coarse *** increasing D,the failure modes of CGBSs are sequentially manifested as oblique shear failure,"Y-shaped"shear failure,and conjugate shear failure.

High-dense nanocrystalline W-based alloy prepared by hot isostatic pressing with uniform microstructure, ultrahigh hardness and good thermal stability

High-density uniform microstructure nanocrystalline W-10wt.% Cr-5wt.% Y（W-10Cr-5Y） alloy with an average grain size of 85 nm and a relative density of 99.8% was successfully prepared.W-Cr-Y alloys with different amounts of second-phase particles were prepared by high-energy ball milling and hot isostatic pressing *** effects of composition design,ball milling parameters,and sintering parameters on the microstructure of W-Cr-Y alloys were studied.A feasible technology for controlling the synthesis of high-density nanocrystalline W-based alloys has been *** microstructure analysis of nanocrystalline W-10Cr-5Y alloy shows that there are two types of doping in the second phase:intergranular doping and intragranular *** "uniform distribution YOx-rich particles" effectively suppresses the grain growth of W and leads to the formation of nanocrystalline W-10Cr-5Y alloy.W-10Cr-5Y has an ultra-high hardness,with a Vickers hardness of 1312±12 kgf·***-temperature annealing treatment shows that W-10Cr-5Y has good thermal stability at 1000 and1100℃,as demonstrated by the comparison of Vickers hardness and grain size between annealed and unannealed alloys.

Synthesis of cerium oxalate hydrate by precipitation technique under external magnetic field

Cerium oxalate hydrate particles were synthesized by precipitation technique under external magnetic field with respective intensities of 0,0.1,0.3,and 0.6 *** particle morphologies were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscope(TEM).Results show that external magnetic field has a great influence on the growth behavior of cerium oxalate hydrate ***-like and plate-like cerium oxalate hydrate particles with smaller size are formed without the applying of external magnetic ***,the extremely big rod-like particles with the average size of 12.47μm were prepared under external magnetic field of 0.6 *** increasing magnetic field intensity makes the grain grow *** analysis supports the presence of 8.5 H_(2)O molecules associated with cerium ***,the growth mechanism of cerium oxalate hydrate under external magnetic field was briefly discussed.

An Improved Car-Following Model for Multiphase Vehicular Traffic Flow and Numerical Tests

This paper attempts to introduce an improved difference model that modifies a car-following model, which takes the next-nearest-neighbor interaction into account. The hnprovement of this model over the previous one lies in that it performs more realistically in the dynamical motion for small delay time. The traffic behavior of the improved model is investigated with analytic and numerical methods with the finding that the new consideration could further stabilize traffic flow. And some simulation tests verify that the proposed model can demonstrate some complex physical features observed recently in real traffic such as the existence of three phases： free flow, coexisting flow, and jam flow; spontaneous formation of density waves; sudden flow drop in flow-density plane; traffic hysteresis in transition between the free and the coexisting flow. Furthermore, th.e improved model also predicts that the stable state to relative density in the coexisting flow is insusceptible to noise.

Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of inherited diseases that lead to retinal degeneration and photoreceptor cell ***,there is no effective treatment for retinitis pigmentosa caused by PDE6B ***-associated virus(AAV)-mediated gene therapy is a promising strategy for treating retinitis *** aim of this study was to explore the molecular mechanisms by which AAV2-PDE6B rescues retinal *** do this,we injected retinal degeneration 10(rd10)mice subretinally with AAV2-PDE6B and assessed the therapeutic effects on retinal function and structure using dark-and light-adapted electroretinogram,optical coherence tomography,and ***-independent acquisition-mass spectrometry-based proteomic analysis was conducted to investigate protein expression levels and pathway enrichment,and the results from this analysis were verified by real-time polymerase chain reaction and western ***2-PDE6B injection significantly upregulated PDE6βexpression,preserved electroretinogram responses,and preserved outer nuclear layer thickness in rd10 *** expressed proteins between wild-type and rd10 mice were closely related to visual perception,and treating rd10 mice with AAV2-PDE6B restored differentially expressed protein expression to levels similar to those seen in wild-type *** Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome analysis showed that the differentially expressed proteins whose expression was most significantly altered by AAV2-PDE6B injection were enriched in phototransduction ***,the phototransductionrelated proteins Pde6α,Rom1,Rho,Aldh1a1,and Rbp1 exhibited opposite expression patterns in rd10 mice with or without AAV2-PDE6B ***,Bax/Bcl-2,p-ERK/ERK,and p-c-Fos/c-Fos expression levels decreased in rd10 mice following AAV2-PDE6B *** data suggest that AAV2-PDE6B-mediated gene therapy promotes phototransduction and inhibits apoptosis by inhibiting the ERK signaling pathway and upr

Unusual photocarrier and coherent phonon dynamics behaviors of layered PdSe_(2)unveiled by ultrafast spectroscopy of the edge surface

Layered materials exhibit different electronic and phonon properties along in-plane and out-of-plane directions;existing studies focus on their in-plane behaviors,and the influence of such anisotropies on the dynamics of photocarriers and phonons is ***,we fabricate layered PdSe_(2)crystals with flat edge surfaces and compare the time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopies on their basal and edge *** differences in the transient reflection spectroscopies reveal the inconsistent photocarrier and phonon dynamics behaviors on the two surfaces:the slow hot carrier relaxation process is accelerated and the thermoelasticity-induced longitudinal coherent acoustic phonon oscillation completely vanishes on the edge surface,as compared with the basal *** analysis reveals that the inconsistent hot carrier dynamics originate from the anisotropic properties of low-energy phonons in PdSe_(2),and the absence of phonon oscillation on the edge surface results from the wavevector-limited sensitivity of acoustic B_(1u)***,polarization-dependent spectroscopies indicate the diverse optical anisotropies beyond the in-plane of PdSe_(2).This work provides a new method to explore unique physical properties and modulate the optical anisotropy of layered materials.

Synergistic effects of vegetation layers of maize and potato intercropping on soil erosion on sloping land in yunnan Province, China

Intercropping, as an overyielding system, can decrease soil erosion on sloping land through the presence of dense canopy covers. However, the structure mechanism in canopy is still unclear. We conducted a two-year field experiment on runoff plots, exploring whether the interaction between vegetation layers reduce soil erosion in maize and potato intercropping systems. The maize, potato, and weed layers in the intercropping system were removed by a single layer, two layers and three layers, respectively(total of 8 treatments including all layers removed as the control). Then, throughfall, runoff and sediment were measured at the plot and row scale on a weekly basis. Based on the difference between each treatment and the control, we calculated and found a relative reduction of runoff and sediment by any combination of the two vegetation layers greater than the sum of each single layer. In 2016 and 2017, the highest relative reduction of runoff reached 15.65% and 46.73%, respectively. Sediment loss decreased by 33.96% and 42.77%, respectively. Moreover, runoffand sediment reduced by the combination of all vegetation layers(no layers removed) was also larger than the sum of that by each single layer. In 2016 and 2017, the highest relative reduction of runoff reached 7.32% and 3.48%, respectively. So, there were synergistic effects among multi-level(two or three layers) vegetation layers in terms of decreasing soil erosion on sloping land. Maize redistributes more throughfall at the maize intra-specific row and the maize and potato inter-specific, which is favorable for the synergistic effect of reducing soil erosion. This finding shows an important mechanism of maize and potato intercropping for soil and water conservation, and may promote the application of diverse cropping systems for sustainable agriculture in mountainous areas.
