Deep learning projects future warming-induced vegetation growth changes under SSP scenarios

Climate warming has been projected to enhance vegetation growth more strongly in higher latitudes than in lower latitudes,but different projections show distinct regional *** employing big data analysis(deep learning),we established gridded,global-scale,climate-driven vegetation growth models to project future changes in vegetation growth under SSP *** projected no substantial trends of vegetation growth change under the sustainable development scenario(SSP1-1.9)by the end of the 21st ***,the increase of vegetation growth driven by climate warming shows distinct regional variability under the scenario representing high carbon emissions and severe warming(SSP5-8.5),especially in Northeast Asia where growth could increase by(6.00%±4.21%).This may be attributed to the high temperature sensitivities of the deciduous needleleaf forests and permanent wetlands in these *** the temperature sensitivity that is defined as permutation importance in deep learning is greater than 0.05,the increase in vegetation growth will be more *** addition,an extreme temperature increase across grasslands,as well as changing land-use management in northern China may also influence the vegetation growth in the *** results suggest that the sustainable development scenario can maintain stable vegetation growth,and it may be a reliable way to mitigate global warming due to potential climate feedbacks driven by vegetation changes in boreal *** needleleaf forests will be a centre of greening in the future,and it should become the focus of future vegetation dynamics modelling studies and projections.

An ultraviolet-infrared(UV-IR)dual-wavelength photodetector(PD)based on a monolayer(ML)graphene/GaN heterostructure has been successfully fabricated in this *** ML graphene was synthesized by chemical vapor deposition(CVD)and subsequently transferred onto GaN substrate using polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA).The morphological and optical properties of the as-prepared graphene and GaN were *** fabricated PD based on the graphene/GaN heterostructure exhibited excellent rectify behavior by measuring the current–voltage(I–V)characteristics under dark conditions,and the spectral response demonstrated that the device revealed an UV-IR dual-wavelength *** addition,the energy band structure and absorption properties of the ML graphene/GaN heterostructure were theoretically investigated based on density functional theory(DFT)to explore the underlying physical mechanism of the two-dimensional(2D)/three-dimensional(3D)hybrid heterostructure PD *** work paves the way for the development of innovative GaNbased dual-wavelength optoelectronic devices,offering a potential strategy for future applications in the field of advanced photodetection technology.

Dynamic Sulfur-Rich Polymers from Elemental Sulfur and Epoxides

Sulfur-containing dynamic polymers had attracted significant attention due to their unique chemical structures with high *** sulfur, an inexpensive industrial waste product, to synthesize dynamic polysulfide polymers through reverse vulcanization has been a notable approach. However, this method required high temperatures and resulted in the release of unpleasant oders. In this study, we presented a robust method for the preparation of sulfur-rich polymers with dynamic polysulfide bonds from elemental sulfur and inexpensive epoxide monomers via a one-pot strategy at the mild room temperature. Different types of polysulfide molecules and polymers were synthesized by reacting various epoxide compounds with sulfur, along with the investigation of their structures and dynamic behaviors. It was noteworthy that the obatined polymers prepared from m-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)aniline and elemental sulfur exhibit multiple dynamic behaviors, including polysulfide metathesis and polysulfide-thiol exchange, enabling their rapid stress relaxation, self-healing, reprocessing and degradable properties of the cross-linked polymer. More importantly, the hydroxyl groups at the side chains from epoxide ring opening exhibited potential transesterification. This work provided a facile strategy for designing dynamic sulfur-rich polymers via a mild synthesis route.

Highly transparent anti-reflection coating enhances the underwater efficiency and stability of perovskite solar modules

Perovskite solar cells have shown great potential in the field of underwater solar cells due to their excellent optoelectronic properties;however,their underwater performance and stability still hinder their practical *** this research,a 1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate(HFDA)anti-reflection coating(ARC)was introduced as a high-transparent material for encapsulating perovskite solar modules(PSMs).Optical characterization results revealed that HFDA can effectively reduce reflection of light below 800 nm,aiding in the absorption of light within this wavelength range by underwater solar ***,a remarkable efficiency of 14.65%was achieved even at a water depth of 50 ***,the concentration of Pb^(2+)for HFDA-encapsulated film is significantly reduced from 186 to 16.5 ppb after being immersed in water for 347 ***,the encapsulated PSMs still remained above 80%of their initial efficiency after continuous underwater illumination for 400 ***,being exposed to air,the encapsulated PSMs maintained 94%of their original efficiency after 1000 h light *** highly transparent ARC shows great potentials in enhancing the stability of perovskite devices,applicable not only to underwater cells but also extendable to land-based photovoltaic devices.

Discrete Approximation and Convergence Analysis for a Class of Decision-Dependent Two-Stage Stochastic Linear Programs

The δ^(15)N values of foxtail millet(Setaria italica)and common millet(Panicum miliaceum)are reliable indicators of manuring practices

Millet agriculture,which originated in northern China,alongside rice agriculture,have nurtured the Chinese *** manuring practices likely promoted and maintained sustainable millet agricultural production in the loess area of northern ***,ongoing controversy exists regarding the indicators of prehistoric manuring intensity of foxtail millet(Setaria italica)and common millet(Panicum miliaceum).Here,we present the results of pot and field fertilization experiments on two millet *** findings suggest that manuring can significantly increase the δ^(15)N values of foxtail millet,and its δ^(15)N values increase with increasing manuring *** δ^(15)N values of foxtail millet leaves are systematically greater than those of grains by approximately 1.6‰.Manuring could have a long-term residual impact on increasing the δ^(15)N values of soil and millet *** with previous crop fertilization experiment results,we propose that the impact of manuring on the δ^(15)N values of non-nitrogen-fixing crops is roughly *** δ^(15)N value and amount of manure are key factors determining the extent of change in plant δ^(15)N *** millet grain δ^(15)N values can serve as reliable indicators of manuring ***,we provide an interpretive framework for assessing the correlation between manuring levels and the δ^(15)N values of archaeological millet *** δ^(15)N values of ancient millet grains suggest widespread and intensive manuring practices in prehistoric millet agriculture in northern China,spanning from the early Yangshao period to the Longshan period.
