The Middle Devonian ostracods from the Jiwozhai patch reef in Dushan, Guizhou Province, South China were described for the first time in this study. Twenty-nine species belonging to 2. genera were identified and figured, including a new species named Wangshangkia jiwozhaiensis sp. nov. The ostracod fauna in the Jiwozhai patch reef represents a Givetian age. The ostracod assemblage belongs to the smooth-podocopid association, which is also ecologically equivalent to the Eifelian Mega-Assemblage Ⅲ. This association is indicative of shallow open-marine environments. The Jiwozhai patch reef fauna is primarily comprised of suspension feeders, including filter-feeding ostracods, corals, brachiopods and bryozoans. Ostracods from the Jiwozhai patch reef were compared to the ostracod faunas from Laurentia-Baltica at generic level, which reveals limited faunal exchanges between South China and Laurentia-Baltica during the Middle Devonian.

Sulfate-reducing bacteria play an important role in the geochemistry of iron(oxyhydr)oxide and arsenic(As)in natural environments;however,the associated reaction processes are yet to be fully *** this study,batch experiments coupled with geochemical,spectroscopic,microscopic,and thermodynamic analyses were conducted to investigate the dynamic coupling of ferrihydrite transformation and the associated As desorption/redistribution mediated by Desulfovibrio vulgaris(***).The results indicated that *** could induce ferrihydrite transformation via S^(2.)-driven and direct reduction *** the absence of SO_(4)^(2.),*** directly reduced ferrihydrite,and As desorption and re-sorption occurred simultaneously during the partial transformation of ferrihydrite to *** increase in SO_(4)^(2.)loading promoted the S^(2.)-driven reduction of ferrihydrite and accelerated the subsequent mineralogical *** the low and medium SO_(4)^(2.)treatments,ferrihydrite was completely transformed to a mixture of magnetite and mackinawite,which increased the fraction of As in the residual phase and stabilized *** the high SO_(4)^(2.)treatment,although the replacement of ferrihydrite by only mackinawite also increased the fraction of As in the residual phase,2..1%of the total As was released into the solution due to the poor adsorption affinity of As to mackinawite and the conversion of As^(5+)to As^(3+).The mechanisms of ferrihydrite reduction,mineralogy transformation,and As mobilization and redistribution mediated by sulfate-reducing bacteria are closely related to the surrounding SO_(4)^(2.)*** results advance our understanding of the biogeochemical behavior of Fe,S,and As,and are helpful for the risk assessment and remediation of As contamination.

The present letter to the editor is related to the review with the title“Past,present,and future of long-term treatment for hepatitis B virus.”Chronic hepatitis B(CHB)represents an important and pressing public health *** identification and effective antiviral therapy hold the potential to reduce liver-related mortality attributable to chronic infection with hepatitis B virus(HBV)***,the current global treatment rates for CHB remain conspicuously low,with the excessively stringent treatment criteria advocated by national CHB guidelines being a contributing factor to these low ***,recent strides in comprehending this malady and the emergence of novel antiviral agents prompt the imperative re-evaluation of treatment standards to extend the sphere of potential *** impending need arises for a novel paradigm for the classification of patients with CHB,the expansion of antiviral treatment eligibility for HBV-infected individuals,and even the streamlining of the diagnostic process for CHB to amplify cost-effectiveness and augment survival prospects.

Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties of(TiC+TiB)/TA15 composites prepared by an in-situ synthesis method

Titanium matrix composites reinforced with ceramic particles are considered a promising engineering material due to their combination of high specific strength,low density,and high *** this study,the TA15-based composites reinforced with a volume fraction of 10% to 2.%(TiB+TiC)were prepared using powder metallurgy and casting *** characterization and phase constitution were examined using optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and X-ray diffraction(XRD).In addition,the microhardness,room temperature(RT)and high temperature(HT)tensile properties of the composites were *** revealed that the reinforcements are distributed uniformly even in the composites with a high volume of TiB and ***,as the volume fraction exceeds 15%,TiB and TiC particles become coarsening and exhibit rod-like and dendritic-like *** increases gradually from 32..2.HV for the base alloy to a maximum of 473.3 HV as the reinforcement increases to 2.vol.%.Tensile test results indicate that a reinforcement volume fraction above 2.% is beneficial for enhancing tensile strength and yield strength at high temperatures,but it has an adverse effect on room temperature ***,if the reinforcement volume fraction is below 2.%,it can improve high-temperature elongation when the temperature exceeds 600℃.

The correlation between the longitudinal crack occurrence and integrated heat transfer of the mold with data mining methods was ***,three kinds of support vector machine models based on principal component analysis with different input features were established to explore the effect of integrated heat transfer on the accuracy of the prediction model for the longitudinal *** results show that the accuracy was improved while features including mean and standard deviation of integrated heat transfer were ***,the difference in integrated heat transfer between defect and normal samples under the same process parameters was quantitatively *** with normal samples,the temperature difference of cooling water for defect samples decreased by 0.65%,and the temperature difference fluctuation increased by 31.1%.Finally,the literature data were used to provide support for the quantitative correlation according to defect formation mechanism.A new criterion for the prediction of longitudinal crack and a discovering method for correlation between product quality and process parameters in the manufacturing industry have been provided.

Aging is an inevitable physiological process,often accompanied by age-related bone loss and subsequent bone-related diseases that pose serious health *** on skeletal diseases caused by aging in humans is challenging due to lengthy study durations,difficulties in sampling,regional variability,and substantial ***,mice are preferred for such studies due to their similar motor system structure and function to humans,ease of handling and care,low cost,and short generation *** this review,we present a comprehensive overview of the characteristics,limitations,applicability,bone phenotypes,and treatment methods in naturally aging mice and prematurely aging mouse models(including SAMP6,POLG mutant,LMNA,SIRT6,ZMPSTE2.,TFAM,ERCC1,WERNER,and KL/KL-deficient mice).We also summarize the molecular mechanisms of these aging mouse models,including cellular DNA damage response,senescence-related secretory phenotype,telomere shortening,oxidative stress,bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSC)abnormalities,and mitochondrial ***,this review aims to enhance our understanding of the pathogenesis of aging-related bone diseases.

Here,we characterize the temporal and spatial dynamics of forest community structure and species diversity in a subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest in *** found that community structure in this forest changed over a 15-year ***,renewal and death of common species was large,with the renewal of individuals mainly concentrated within a few populations,especially those of Aidia canthioides and Cryptocarya *** numbers of individual deaths for common species were concentrated in the small and mid-diameter *** spatial distribution of community species diversity fluctuated in each monitoring period,showing a more dispersed diversity after the 15-year study period,and the coefficient of variation on quadrats *** 2.10,the death and renewal of the community and the spatial variation of species diversity were different compared to other survey *** weather may have affected species regeneration and community stability in our subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved *** findings suggest that strengthening the monitoring and management of the forest community will help better understand the long-and short-term causes of dynamic fluctuations of community structure and species diversity,and reveal the factors that drive changes in community structure.

Spin-crossover(SCO)materials that reversibly switch between high-and low-spin states have potential for the storage of spin state-relative information,and have gained much attention incorporating secondary physical properties,such as fluorescence and magneto-optical *** this study,we synthesized three octanuclear metal-organic cages(MOCs)using tetraphenylethylene-based luminophores,aldehydes,and Fe^(Ⅱ)salts,by subcomponent self-assembly approach,namely[Fe1]-[Fe3].By controlling the ligand-field strength and guest encapsulation,we finely tuned their SCO *** them,MOC[Fe2.displayed nearly complete SCO behavior in the solid state,which is rare for high-nuclearity *** also demonstrated the coupling of SCO with fluorescence emission in these MOCs by using isostructural Zn^(Ⅱ)complexes([Zn1]-[Zn3])as control experiments,for the first *** calculations revealed the energy-transfer mechanism between fluorophores and SCOactive centers,which emphasizes the significant contribution of d-d transitions in the interplay between the occurrence of SCO and fluorescence emission.

The change of fluorescence emission manipulated by spin state transition attracts considerable attention owing to its potential applications in magneto-optical switching ***,we report two two-dimensional(2.)Hofmann-type spin crossover(SCO)metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)[Fe^(Ⅱ)(PNI)_(2.{Ag^(Ⅰ)(CN)_(2.}_(2.]·CHCl_(3)(3Ag·CHCl_(3))and[FeⅡ(PNI)_(2.{AuⅠ(CN)_(2.}_(2.]·CHCl_(3)(3Au·CHCl_(3))based on the fluorescent ligand N-(4-pyridylmethyl)-1,8-naphthalimide(PNI).Both complexes exhibit interesting SCO behaviors switched by guest solvent molecules,namely three-step transitions for the solvated complexes and complete onestep hysteretic SCO for the desolvated ones,verified by temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements,Mossbauer spectra,structural analyses,and differential scanning calorimetry ***,temperature-dependent fluorescence spectra exhibit double peaks(monomer and excimer emission)with both emission peaks change consistent with the change in SCO properties during the solvent molecule *** this study,we integrated guest-responsive SCO behavior into MOFs to manipulate the multistability of spin state and fluorescence switching,providing a rational strategy for the development of stimuli-responsive multifunctional materials.
