Application of buried auricular point combined with Wenjing Sanhan prescription in arteriosclerosis obliterans patients with resting pain

BACKGROUND Research on the combined use of ear acupoint embedding beans and warming meridians with cold-dispersing formulas for alleviating resting pain in patients with arteriosclerosis obliterans(ASO)remains *** To explore the therapeutic efficacy of auricular point embedding beans combined with Wenjing Sanhan prescription in alleviating resting pain in patients with lower-limb *** A total of 100 patients with ASO experiencing resting pain who were treated at our hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were *** were randomly allocated into two groups using a double-blind *** control group was treated using a warming meridian with a cold-dispersing formula,while the study group received additional treatment with ear acupoint embedding *** clinical efficacy,ankle-brachial artery pressure ratio,hemorheological indicators,and traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores were compared between the two *** The clinical efficacy rate in the study group was significantly higher(94.00%)than that in the control group(72.00%,Psure ratio was significantly higher in the study group after treatment(P<0.05).Hemorheological parameters,including whole blood viscosity,plasma viscosity(1.83±0.11)mPa/s,fibrinogen levels(3.30±0.21)g/L,platelet adhesion rate(49.87%±10.51%),and erythrocyte aggregation index(1.79±0)were improved in the study group compared to the control *** addition,the scores for decreased skin temperature(1.41±0.26),intermittent claudication(1.30±0.20),and resting pain(1.23±0.31)were significantly lower in the study group than those in the control group(all P<0.05).The level of oxidative stress in the study group also exhibited significant improvement(P<0.05),and the levels of inflammatory factors were considerably lower than those in the control *** The combination of ear point embedding beans and Wenjing Sanhan prescription demonstrates promising clin

RGS22 maintains the physiological function of ependymal cells to prevent hydrocephalus

Ependymal cells line the wall of cerebral ventricles and ensure the unidirectional cerebrospinal fluid （CSF） flow by beating their motile cilia coordinately. The ependymal denudation or ciliary dysfunction causes hydrocephalus. Here, we report that the deficiency of regulator of Gprotein signaling 22 （RGS22） results in severe congenital hydrocephalus in both mice and rats. Interestingly, RGS22 is specifically expressed in ependymal cells within the brain. Using conditional knock-out mice, we further demonstrate that the deletion of Rgs22 exclusively in nervous system is sufficient to induce hydrocephalus. Mechanistically, we show that Rgs22 deficiency leads to the ependymal denudation and impaired ciliogenesis. This phenomenon can be attributed to the excessive activation of lysophosphatidic acid receptor （LPAR） signaling under Rgs22–/–condition, as the LPAR blockade effectively alleviates hydrocephalus in Rgs22–/–rats. Therefore, our findings unveil a previously unrecognized role of RGS22 in the central nervous system, and present RGS22 as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for hydrocephalus.

submodular optimization is widely used in large *** order to speed up the problems solving,it is essential to design low-adaptive algorithms to achieve acceleration in *** general,the function values are given by a value oracle,but in practice,the oracle queries may consume a lot of ***,how to strike a balance between optimizing them is *** this paper,we focus on maximizing a normalized and strictly monotone set function with the diminishing-return ratio under a cardinality constraint,and propose two algorithms to deal with *** apply the adaptive sequencing technique to devise the first algorithm,whose approximation ratio is arbitrarily close to 1-e^(-γ)in O(logn·log(log k/γ)) adaptive rounds,and requires O(logn^(2)·log(log k/γ)) *** by adding preprocessing and parameter estimation steps to the first algorithm,we get the second *** second algorithm trades a small sacrifice in adaptive complexity for a significant improvement in query *** the same approximation and adaptive complexity,the query complexity is improved *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first paper of designing adaptive algorithms for maximizing a monotone function using the diminishing-return ratio.

Critical Role of Ethylene-Propylene Block Copolymer in Impact Polypropylene Copolymer

Ethylene-propylene block copolymer(EbP) is a vital component in impact polypropylene copolymer(IPC), yet its distribution in the multiphase composite material and how it influences the phase structure and the mechanical properties are not well understood. In this work,four IPCs were investigated by atomic force microscopy-infrared(AFM-IR) to assess the phase compositions in situ, based on which in conjunction with the chain microstructure information obtained ex situ the distributions of the copolymer components were derived for each alloy. For the IPCs whose EbP comprises long P and long E segments, the EbP fraction was found to phase separate from the rubber and the PP matrix to form the cores of the disperse particles with the E-P segmented copolymer(EsP). In contrast, in the IPC with EbP composed of long P and short E segments, the EbP fraction formed an outer shell for the rubber particles with the cores comprising the EsP alone, and this IPC, containing a lower E comonomer content than its counterpart, exhibited both better impact resistance and higher flexural modulus. These results clarify how the chain structure of EbP governs the phase morphology in IPC, which in turn impacts the properties of the composite material.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), a common respiratory disease, can be effectively treated by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). Qingfei Huatan, a TCM formula, has been reported to effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of COPD patients. However, there is a lack of multi-centre,randomised, double-blind, controlled clinical trials documenting the clinical efficacy and safety of this formula in the treatment of acute exacerbation of COPD(AECOPD).Objective: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of Qingfei Huatan formula in the treatment of AECOPD, thereby providing high-quality clinical ***, setting, participants and interventions: A total of 276 patients with AECOPD were included in this multi-centre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial and were randomised into treatment and control groups at a ratio of 1:1. Patients in the treatment and control groups took Qingfei Huatan granules or simulated Qingfei Huatan granules twice a day, for 14 days, in addition to Western medicine treatment. All patients were followed up for 3 *** outcome measures: The primary outcome was time taken to symptom stabilisation. The secondary outcomes included duration of antibiotic use, clinical symptom and sign score, TCM syndrome score, dyspnoea score, and quality of life(QOL) score. Meanwhile, the safety of the formula was assessed through routine urine and stool tests, electrocardiograms, liver and kidney function tests, and the observation of adverse events throughout the ***: The time taken for effective stabilisation(P < 0.05) and obvious stabilisation(P < 0.01), and the duration of antibiotic use(P < 0.05) were significantly shorter in the treatment group than in the control group. On days 6, 9, 12 and 14 of treatment, clinical symptom and sign score decreased in both groups,particularly in the treatment group(P < 0.01). The long-term safety and effectiveness of once-daily tadalafil is crucial,but limited data are available in Chinese patients witherectile dysfunction(ED).In this post-marketing,multicenter,randomized,open-label trial with 2-year follow-up,635 ED caseswere randomized to receive daily oral tadalafil 2.5 mg or 5 mg for 3 months,of whom 580 continued once-daily tadalafil 5 mg for21 ***-emergent adverse events in the 12-month and 24-month period were similar,with the most common beingviral upper respiratory tract infection,upper respiratory tract infection,and *** improvement from baseline inthe International Index of Erectile Function-Erectile Function(IIEF-EF)score was detected at month 12(least squares mean[LSM]change:7.9,95%confidence interval[CI]:7.5–8.4,Psults showed improved erection function in 97.5%ofpatients and improved ability to engage in sexual activity in 95.9%of patients at month 12;these values were 96.1%and 95.0%at month 24,*** quality of sexual life score based on the Sexual Life Quality Questionnaire(SLQQ)was increased by52.2%at month 12 and by 55.3%at month 24(both Psus 65.9±20.2 at month ***-year daily application of tadalafil 5mg in Chinese men with ED showed a favorable safety profile and durable improvement in sexual performance and satisfaction.

Numerical Simulation of Droplet Generation in Coaxial Microchannels

In this study,numerical simulations of the pinching-off phenomena displayed by the dispersed phase in a continuous phase have been conducted using COMSOL Multiphysics(level-set method).Four flow patterns,namely“drop flow”,“jet flow”,“squeeze flow”,and“co-flow”,have been obtained for different flow velocity ratios,channel diameter ratios,density ratios,viscosity ratios,and surface *** flow pattern map of two-phase flow in coaxial microchannels has been obtained accordingly,and the associated droplet generation process has been critically discussed considering the related frequency,diameter,and pinch-off *** particular,it is shown that the larger the flow velocity ratio,the smaller the diameter of generated droplets and the shorter the pinch-off *** pinch-off length of a droplet is influenced by the channel diameter ratio and density *** changes in viscosity ratio have a negligible influence on the droplet generation pinching *** an increase in surface tension,the frequency of generation and pinch-off length of droplets decrease,but for small surface tension the generation diameter of droplet increases.

Ligand-controlled electrochemiluminescence generation from CdSe/CdS/ZnS core/shell/shell quantum dots

The CdSe/CdS/ZnS core/shell/shell quantum dots(QDs)with strong exciton confinement have manifested themselves as competitive light-emitting materials in electrochemiluminescence(ECL).However,cathodic ECL generation by these QDs requires the injection of electron and hole from solid electrode and electrogenerated radicals(for example SO_(4)•^(−)),which is inevitably influenced by not only the inorganic structure of QDs but also the organic ligands on the *** this work we aimed at studying the impact of surface organic ligands on ECL performance of CdSe/CdS/ZnS *** changing the surface ligand from oleate to acetate,we phenomenologically observed the positive shift of ECL onset potential by ca.200 mV and the increase of ECL intensity by~100 times,suggesting that a short ligand is more favorable for ECL *** further comprehend the ligand effect,we measured the charge injection kinetics using potential-modulated,time-resolved photoluminescence,and thinlayer spectroelectrochemistry *** electron and hole injection into QDs were found to be accelerated by 2–20 times if shortening the ligand from oleate to acetate,confirming the significant impact of surface ligands on ECL performance of *** study is expected to provide guidance on how to design surface functionalized QDs for specific applications such as ECL immunodiagnosis,photocatalysis,and photovoltaics.

The perfluorosulfonic acid(PFSA) membrane doped with two-dimensional conductive filler Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) is a fuel cell proton exchange membrane with high application potential. Experimental studies showed that the proton conductivity of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane is improved significantly compared with that in pure Nafion. However, the microscopic mechanism of doping on the enhancement of membrane performance is remain unclear now. In this work, molecular dynamics simulation was used to investigate the microscopic morphology and proton transport behaviors of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane at the molecular level. The results shown that there were significant differences about the diffusion kinetics of water molecules and hydroxium ions in Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) at low and high hydration levels in the nanoscale *** the increase of water content, Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) in membrane was gradually surrounded by ambient water molecules to form a hydration layer, and forming a relatively continuous proton transport channel between Nafion polymer and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) monomer. The continuous proton transport channel could increase the number of binding sites of proton and thus achieving high proton conductivity and high mobility of water molecules at higher hydration level. The current work can provide a theoretical guidance for designing new type of Nafion composite membranes.
