Recently, with the emergence of ChatGPT, the field of artificial intelligence has garnered widespread attention from various sectors of society. Reservoir Computing (RC) is a neuromorphic computing algorithm used to analyze time-series data. Unlike traditional artificial neural networks that require the weight values of all nodes in the trained network, RC only needs to train the readout layer. This makes the training process faster and more efficient, and it has been used in various applications, including speech recognition, image classification, and control systems. Its flexibility and efficiency make it a popular choice for processing large amounts of complex data. A recent research trend is to develop physical RC, which utilizes the nonlinear dynamic and short-term memory properties of physical systems (photonic modules, spintronic devices, memristors, etc.) to construct a fixed random neural network structure for processing input data to reduce computing time and energy. In this paper, we introduced the recent development of memristors and demonstrated the remarkable data processing capability of RC systems based on memristors. Not only do they possess excellent data processing ability comparable to digital RC systems, but they also have lower energy consumption and greater robustness. Finally, we discussed the development prospects and challenges faced by memristors-based RC systems.

The phenomenology involved in severe accidents in nuclear reactors is highly complex.Currently,integrated analysis programs used for severe accident analysis heavily rely on custom empirical parameters,which introduce considerable uncertainty.Therefore,in recent years,the field of severe accidents has shifted its focus toward applying uncertainty analysis methods to quantify uncertainty in safety assessment programs,known as“best estimate plus uncertainty(BEPU).”This approach aids in enhancing our comprehension of these programs and their further development and improvement.This study concentrates on a third-generation pressurized water reactor equipped with advanced active and passive mitigation strategies.Through an Integrated Severe Accident Analysis Program(ISAA),numerical modeling and uncertainty analysis were conducted on severe accidents resulting from large break loss of coolant accidents.Seventeen uncertainty parameters of the ISAA program were meticulously screened.Using Wilks'formula,the developed uncertainty program code,SAUP,was employed to carry out Latin hypercube sampling,while ISAA was employed to execute batch calculations.Statistical analysis was then conducted on two figures of merit,namely hydrogen generation and the release of fission products within the pressure vessel.Uncertainty calculations revealed that hydrogen production and the fraction of fission product released exhibited a normal distribution,ranging from 182.784 to 330.664 kg and from 15.6 to 84.3%,respectively.The ratio of hydrogen production to reactor thermal power fell within the range of 0.0578–0.105.A sensitivity analysis was performed for uncertain input parameters,revealing significant correlations between the failure temperature of the cladding oxide layer,maximum melt flow rate,size of the particulate debris,and porosity of the debris with both hydrogen generation and the release of fission products.

There are complaints about current machine learning techniques such as the requirement of a huge amount of training data and proficient training skills,the difficulty of continual learning,the risk of catastrophic forgetting,and the leaking of data privacy/proprietary.Most research efforts have been focusing on one of those concerned issues separately,paying less attention to the fact that most issues are entangled in practice.The prevailing big model paradigm,which has achieved impressive results in natural language processing and computer vision applications,has not yet addressed those issues,whereas becoming a serious source of carbon emissions.This article offers an overview of the learnware paradigm,which attempts to enable users not to need to build machine learning models from scratch,with the hope of reusing small models to do things even beyond their original purposes,where the key ingredient is the specification which enables a trained model to be adequately identified to reuse according to the requirement of future users who know nothing about the model in advance.

In this paper,we prove that for each positive k≡1 mod m there exists a P-symmetric kmτ-periodic solution xk for asymptotically linear mτ-periodic Hamiltonian systems,which are nonautonomous and endowed with a P-symmetry.If the P-symmetric Hamiltonian function is semi-positive,one can prove,under a new iteration inequality of the Maslov-type P-index,that xk_(1) and xk_(2) are geometrically distinct for k_(1)/k_(2)≥(2n+1)m+1;and xk_(1),xk_(2) are geometrically distinct for k_(1)/k_(2)≥m+1 provided xk_(1) is non-degenerate.

Big Bang nucleosynthesis(BBN)theory predicts the primordial abundances of the light elements^(2) H(referred to as deuterium,or D for short),^(3)He,^(4)He,and^(7) Li produced in the early universe.Among these,deuterium,the first nuclide produced by BBN,is a key primordial material for subsequent reactions.To date,the uncertainty in predicted deuterium abundance(D/H)remains larger than the observational precision.In this study,the Monte Carlo simulation code PRIMAT was used to investigate the sensitivity of 11 important BBN reactions to deuterium abundance.We found that the reaction rate uncertainties of the four reactions d(d,n)^(3)He,d(d,p)t,d(p,γ)^(3)He,and p(n,γ)d had the largest influence on the calculated D/H uncertainty.Currently,the calculated D/H uncertainty cannot reach observational precision even with the recent LUNA precise d(p,γ)^(3) He rate.From the nuclear physics aspect,there is still room to largely reduce the reaction-rate uncertainties;hence,further measurements of the important reactions involved in BBN are still necessary.A photodisintegration experiment will be conducted at the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source Facility to precisely study the deuterium production reaction of p(n,γ)d.

Gastric cancer is among the most frequently occurring cancers and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. Because gastric cancer is highly heterogenous and comprised of different subtypes with distinct molecular and clinical characteristics, the management of gastric cancer calls for better-defined, biomarker-guided, molecular-based treatment strategies. MET is a receptor tyrosine kinase mediating important physiologic processes, such as embryogenesis, tissue regeneration, and wound healing. However, mounting evidence suggests that aberrant MET pathway activation contributes to tumour proliferation and metastasis in multiple cancer types, including gastric cancer, and is associated with poor patient outcomes. As such, MET-targeting therapies are being actively developed and promising progress has been demonstrated, especially with MET tyrosine kinase inhibitors. This review aims to briefly introduce the role of MET alterations in gastric cancer and summarize in detail the current progress of MET tyrosine kinase inhibitors in this disease area with a focus on savolitinib, tepotinib, capmatinib, and crizotinib. Building on current knowledge, this review further discusses existing challenges in MET alterations testing, possible resistance mechanisms to MET inhibitors, and future directions of MET-targeting therapies.

H_(∞)/Passive Synchronization of Semi-Markov Jump Neural Networks Subject to Hybrid Attacks via an Activation Function Division Approach

In this work,an H_(∞)/passive-based secure synchronization control problem is investigated for continuous-time semi-Markov neural networks subject to hybrid attacks,in which hybrid attacks are the combinations of denial-of-service attacks and deception attacks,and they are described by two groups of independent Bernoulli distributions.On this foundation,via the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality technology,the H_(∞)/passive-based performance criteria for semi-Markov jump neural networks are obtained.Additionally,an activation function division approach for neural networks is adopted to further reduce the conservatism of the criteria.Finally,a simulation example is provided to verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.

To better characterize the properties of surface-initiated polymers, simultaneous bulk-and surface-initiated polymerizations are usually carried out by assuming that the properties of the surface-initiated polymers resemble those of the bulk-initiated polymers. Through a Monte Carlo simulation using a heterogeneous stochastic reaction model, it was discovered that the bulk-initiated polymers exhibit a higher molecular weight and a lower dispersity than the corresponding surface-initiated polymers, which indicates that the equivalent assumption is invalid. Furthermore, the molecular weight distributions of the two types of polymers are also different, suggesting different polymerization mechanisms. The results can be simply explained by the heterogeneous distributions of reactants in the system. This study is helpful to better understand surface-initiated polymerization.

Colorectal cancer(CRC)stands among the top prevalent cancers worldwide and holds a prominent position as a major contributor to cancer-related mortality globally.Absent in melanoma 2(AIM2),a constituent of the interferoninducible hematopoietic interferon-inducible nuclear antigens with 200 amino acid repeats protein family,contributes to both cancer progression and inflammasome activation.Despite this understanding,the precise biological functions and molecular mechanisms governed by AIM2 in CRC remain elusive.Consequently,this study endeavors to assess AIM2’s expression levels,explore its potential antitumor effects,elucidate associated cancer-related processes,and decipher the underlying signaling pathways in CRC.Our findings showed a reduced AIM2 expression in most CRC cell lines.Elevation of AIM2 levels suppressed CRC cell proliferation and migration,altered cell cycle by inhibiting G1/S transition,and induced cell apoptosis.Further research uncovered the participation of P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(P38MAPK)in AIM2-mediated modulation of CRC cell apoptosis and proliferation.Altogether,our achievements distinctly underscored AIM2’s antitumor role in CRC.AIM2 overexpression inhibited proliferation and migration and induced apoptosis of CRC cells via activating P38MAPK signaling pathway,indicating AIM2 as a prospective and novel therapeutic target for CRC.
