Fast bowtie effect elimination for MODIS L1B data

The bowtie effect refers to geometry distortions for the moderate resolution imaging spectrum-radiometer （MODIS） level 1B （L1 B） data. Till now, to eliminate the bowtie effect, numerous methods are proposed. However, most of them have limitations in computation efficiency. Through a comparative study of existing methods, this article puts forward a fast method to eliminate the bowtie effect using the ephemeris data. In this method, the rough positions of overlapping data are first detected. Because of the influence caused by the instrarnent characters and the earth＇s curvature, the positions of overlapping data need to be rectified to obtain more precise results. The optimal rectification method used in this article is selected by comparing three methods. By using the optimal method, the rectified MODIS data can be obtained. The experiments demonstrate that the bowtie effect can be eliminated in less than 1 s. In contrast, other traditional methods spend at least 3 s, thus the proposed method is faster and more effective.

Partial Differential Equation(PDE)is among the most fundamental tools employed to model dynamic *** PDE modeling methods are typically derived from established knowledge and known phenomena,which are time-consuming and ***,discovering governing PDEs from collected actual data via Physics Informed Neural Networks(PINNs)provides a more efficient way to analyze fresh dynamic systems and establish *** study proposes Sequentially Threshold Least Squares-Lasso(STLasso),a module constructed by incorporating Lasso regression into the Sequentially Threshold Least Squares(STLS)algorithm,which can complete sparse regression of PDE coefficients with the constraints of l0 *** further introduces PINN-STLasso,a physics informed neural network combined with Lasso sparse regression,able to find underlying PDEs from data with reduced data requirements and better *** addition,this research conducts experiments on canonical inverse PDE problems and compares the results to several recent *** results demonstrated that the proposed PINN-STLasso outperforms other methods,achieving lower error rates even with less data.

Most existing treatments for origami-folding simulations have focused on regular-shaped *** article aims to introduce a general strategy for simulating and analyzing the deformation process of irregular shapes by means of computational capabilities *** better simulate origami deformation with folding orders,the concept of plane follow-up is introduced to achieve automated computer simulation of complex folding patterns,thereby avoiding intersection and penetration between *** on the evaluation criteria such as the lowest storage energy with tightening and the fastest pace from tightening to unfolding,the optimal crease distribution patterns for four irregular(‘N’-,‘T’-,‘O’-,and‘P’-shaped)origami configurations are then presented under five *** the dimensions of the origami are fixed,it is discovered that simpler folding patterns lead to faster deformation of the origami *** the folding complexity is fixed,higher strain energy results in more rapid origami expansion.

The emerging biomass-based epoxy vitrimers hold great potential to fulfill the requirements for sustainable development of *** the existence of dynamic chemical bonds in vitrimers often reduces both the thermal and mechanical properties of epoxy resins, it is challenging to produce recyclable epoxy vitrimers with both excellent mechanical properties and good thermal stability. Herein, a monomer 4-(((5-(hydroxymethyl)furan-2-yl)methylene)amino)phenol(FCN) containing furan ring with potential to form high density of hydrogen bonding among repeating units is designed and copolymerized with glycerol triglycidyl ether to yield epoxy resin(FCN-GTE), which intrinsically has dual hydrogen bond networks, dynamic imine structure and resultant high performance. Importantly, as compared to the BPA-GTE, the FCN-GTE exhibits significantly improved mechanical properties owing to the increased density of hydrogen bond network and physical crosslinking interaction. Furthermore, density functional theory(DFT) calculation and in situ FTIR analysis is conducted to decipher the formation mechanism of hydrogen bond network. In addition, the FCN-GTE possesses superior UV shielding, chemical degradation, and recyclability because of the existence of abundant imine bonds. Notably, the FCN-GTE-based carbon fiber composites could be completely recycled in an amine *** study provides a facile strategy for synthesizing recyclable biomass-based high-performance epoxy vitrimers and carbon fiber composites.

Ag-In-Ga-S(AIGS)quantum dots(QDs)have recently attracted great interests due to the outstanding optical properties and eco-friendly components,which are considered as an alternative replacement for toxic Pb-and Cd-based ***,enormous attention has been paid to how to narrow their broadband spectra,ignoring the application advantages of the broadband *** this work,the AIGS QDs with controllable broad green-red dual-emission are first reported,which is achieved through adjusting the size distribution of QDs by controlling the nucleation and growth of AIGS ***,the AIGS QDs exhibit broad dual-emission at green-and red-band evidenced by photoluminescence(PL)spectra,and the PL relative intensity and peak position can be finely ***,the dual-emission is the intrinsic characteristics from the difference in confinement effect of large particles and tiny particles confirmed by temperature-dependent PL ***,the AIGS QDs(the size consists of 17 nm and 3.7 nm)with 530 nm and 630 nm emission could successfully be synthesized at 220°*** combining the blue light-emitting diode(LED)chips and dual-emission AIGS QDs,the constructed white light-emitting devices(WLEDs)exhibit a continuous and broad spectrum like natural sunlight with the Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage(CIE)chromaticity coordinates of(0.33,0.31),a correlated color temperature(CCT)of 5425 K,color rendering index(CRI)of 90,and luminous efficacy of radiation(LER)of 129 lm/W,which indicates that the AIGS QDs have huge potential for lighting applications.
