Internal limiting membrane peeling combined with silicone oil or air tamponade for highly myopic foveoschisis

AIM:To compare the efficacy of pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)combined with internal limiting membrane(ILM)and silicone oil or sterile air tamponade for the treatment of myopic foveoschisis(MF)in highly myopic ***:This retrospective study included 48 myopic eyes of 40 patients with MF and axial lengths(ALs)ranging from 26-32 mm treated between January 2020 and January *** patients were underwent PPV combined with ILM peeling followed by sterile air or silicone oil tamponade and followed up at least *** on the features on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT),the eyes were divided into the MF-only group(Group A,n=15 eyes),MF with central foveal detachment group(Group B,n=20 eyes),and MF with lamellar macular hole group(Group C,n=13 eyes).According to AL,eyes were further divided into three groups:Group D(26.01-28.00 mm,n=12 eyes),Group E(28.01-30.00 mm,n=26 eyes),and Group F(30.01-32.00 mm,n=10 eyes).The best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),central foveal thickness(CFT),and complications were ***:The patients included 16 males and 24 females with the mean age of 56±*** BCVA and CFT improved in all groups after surgery(P0.05).The intergroup differences of BCVA and CFT postoperatively were statistically significant in Group D,E,and *** eyes were injected with sterile air,and 28 eyes were injected with silicone oil for tamponade based on the ***,there was no statistically significant difference among Groups D,E,and F in terms of the results of sterile air or silicone oil *** mean recovery time was 5.9mo for MF patients subjected to silicone oil tamponade and 7.7mo for patients subjected to sterile air tamponade,and the difference was not statistically ***:PPV and ILM peeling combined with silicone oil or sterile air tamponade can achieve good results for MF in highly myopic eyes with ALs

Ecological stability is a critical factor in global sustainable development,yet its significance has been *** we introduce a landscape-oriented framework to evaluate ecological stability in the Qingzang Plateau(QP).Our findings reveal a medium-high stability level in the QP,with minimal changes over recent *** driving factors vary across landscape types,with climate and anthropogenic factors emerging as crucial *** anthropogenic factors are strong but unstable due to policy changes and economic development,climatic factors exert a consistent *** on our results,we propose site-specific ecological conservation and restoration *** ecological stability assessment framework provides a practical tool to understand the link between environmental conditions and ecosystems.

Mitochondrial transplantation confers protection against the effects of ischemic stroke by repressing microglial pyroptosis and promoting neurogenesis

Transferring healthy and functional mitochondria to the lateral ventricles confers neuroprotection in a rat model of ischemia-reperfusion *** mitochondrial transplantation is also beneficial in pediatric patients with cardiac ischemia-reperfusion ***,transplantation of functional exogenous mitochondria may be a promising therapeutic approach for ischemic *** explore the neuroprotective effect of mitochondria transplantation and determine the underlying mechanism in ischemic stroke,in this study we established a photo-thrombosis-induced mouse model of focal ischemia and administered freshly isolated mitochondria via the tail vein or to the injury site(in situ).Animal behavior tests,immunofluorescence staining,2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC)staining,mRNA-seq,and western blotting were used to assess mouse anxiety and memory,cortical infarct area,pyroptosis,and neurogenesis,*** bioinformatics analysis,western blotting,co-immunoprecipitation,and mass spectroscopy,we identified S100 calcium binding protein A9(S100A9)as a potential regulator of mitochondrial function and determined its possible interacting *** between exogenous and endogenous mitochondria,as well as the effect of exogenous mitochondria on recipient microglia,were assessed in *** data showed that:(1)mitochondrial transplantation markedly reduced mortality and improved emotional and cognitive function,as well as reducing infarct area,inhibiting pyroptosis,and promoting cortical neurogenesis;(2)microglial expression of S100A9 was markedly increased by ischemic injury and regulated mitochondrial function;(3)in vitro,exogenous mitochondria enhanced mitochondrial function,reduced redox stress,and regulated microglial polarization and pyroptosis by fusing with endogenous mitochondria;and(4)S100A9 promoted internalization of exogenous mitochondria by the microglia,thereby amplifying their pro-proliferation and anti-inflammatory ***

Exploring new linkage chemistry is of fundamental significance for covalent organic frameworks(COFs)to expand their structure and functional ***,we report a strategy for converting azine linkage into urea-and thiourea-based fused-ring connections in COFs by criss-cross[3+2]dipolar cycloaddition of azine with HNCO or *** as-prepared COFs with cyclized linkages exhibited enhanced chemical and thermal stability by locking the dynamic C=N linkages in the ***,functions could be introduced into the skeleton of COFs by this postsynthetic cyclization method,which enabled significant improvements in functionality,demonstrated by the studies on CO_(2)/N_(2) selective sorption,proton conduction,and Hg^(2+)*** use of this[3+2]cycloaddition strategy not only enriched the chemistry of linkage conversion for COFs but also offered a new way to fabricate fused-ring-linked COFs,thereby representing a high level of controllability on connectivity and functionality of COFs.

Transcriptomic analysis of regenerated skins reveals key genes involved in skin immune response and air-breathing of loach(Paramisgurnus dabryanus)

Fish skin acts as the first immune barrier against pathogens from external ***,fish skin immunity research has gradually become a hot topic in aquaculture disease ***,the skin can do air-breathing in some bimodal respiration ***,there is no comprehensive understanding of these two *** this study,the skin regeneration of loach(Paramisgurnus dabryanus)was investigated through morphological and histological ***,original skins(OS)and the regenerated skins(RS)when their capillaries were the most abundant during healing,were collected for transcriptomic analysis.285,899,386 clean reads with a total length of 42.34 Gb were obtained.A total of 1282 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were detected,including 1030 DEGs up-regulated and 252 DEGs down-regulated in the comparison of RS *** gamma R-mediated phagocytosis(containing gelsolin(Gsn)),chemokine signaling pathway(containing C-C motif chemokine ligand 28(Ccl28)),and B cell receptor signaling pathway(containing CD80 molecule(Cd81))were closely related to skin immune response of the ***3K-Akt signaling pathway[containing fibronectin 1(Fn1)and lysyl oxidase-like 2b(Loxl2b)],TGF-beta signaling pathway[containing thrombospondin 1(Thbs1)],ECM-receptor interaction[containing integrin alpha 7(Itga7),Itgb8,Itgb10 and Itgb5],and dilated cardiomyopathy[containing laminin subunit alpha1(Lama1)]were closely associated with skin air-breathing of the *** study is conducive to explore the molecular mechanisms of skin immune response during its regeneration and air-breathing of bimodal respiration *** study will benefit for the aquaculture of *** and its related species.
