In this work, the mechanical properties and microstructures of vermicular graphite cast iron processed by selective laser surface alloying with ultra-fine ZrO2 ceramic particulates were investigated. A particulate-reinforced metal matrix composite coating with the thickness of -650 μm was fabricated by laser treatment on the sample surface. The particulates were uniformly distributed in the microstructure of the coating. The tensile strength and microhardness both increased with the particulate fraction, since more tensile load was transferred from the matrix to the reinforcement showing essential strengthening effect. The composite coating also sharply reduced the wear mass loss and thus improved the wear resistance.

Electrochemically reducing CO_(2)to ethanol is attractive but suffers from poor *** catalysis that integrates the activation of CO_(2)to an intermediate using one active site and the subsequent formation of hydrocarbons on the other site offers a promising approach,where the control of the intermediate transfer between different catalytic sites is *** propose an internally self-feeding mechanism that relies on the orientation of the mass transfer in a hierarchical structure and demonstrate it using a one-dimensional(1D)tandem core-shell ***,the carbon-coated Ni-core(Ni/C)catalyzes the transformation of CO_(2)-to-CO,after which the CO intermediates are guided to diffuse to the carbon-coated Cu-shell(Cu/C)and experience the selective reduction to ethanol,realizing the orientated key intermediate *** show that the Faradaic efficiency for ethanol was 18.2%at-1 V ***(V_(RHE))for up to 100 *** following mechanism study supports the hypothesis that the CO_(2)reduction on Ni/C generates CO,which is further reduced to ethanol on Cu/C *** functional theory calculations suggest a combined effect of the availability of CO intermediate in Ni/C core and the dimerization of key∗CO intermediates,as well as the subsequent proton-electron transfer process on the Cu/C shell.

The prevalence of cardiovascular diseases （CVDs） is associated with the socioeconomic prosperity, lifestyle changes, accelerated process of ageing and urbanization. The prevalence of CVDs is continuously increasing in China and will remain an upward trend in the next 10 years. CVDs are the leading cause of death for Chinese in both urban area and rural area. Nowadays, 41.09% of deaths in rural area and 42.52% of deaths in urban area are caused by CVDs in China. The burden of CVDs remains heavy and has become an important public health problem. Effective strategies should be enforced urgently for the prevention of CVDs under the supervision of the government. In 2012, the Ministry of Health of China and 14 governmental departments jointly issued the Work Plan for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control in China （2012-2015）, a guideline for the prevention of chronic diseases, especially CVDs in China.

Rational design and tailoring of the structural features of Co-N-C catalysts are urgently required to construct highly efficient bifunctional non-noble metal electrocatalysts for both oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Herein,we report a series of carbon-based catalysts with varied structural features,specifically the graphitic degree of carbon,porosity,and the configuration of active sites,and their effects on bifunctional oxygen electrocatalytic *** the synergistic tuning of these structural factors,the well-tailored Co-N-C catalyst exhibits a high bifunctional electrocatalytic activity,as revealed by a half-wave potential of 0.84 V for ORR and a low overpotential of 420 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2)for *** impressively,the Zn-air battery using the optimum catalyst delivers excellent performance including a peak power density of 125.2 mW·cm_(−2)and a specific capacity of 790.8 mAh·gZn^(−1),as well as stable cycling durability,outperforming the noble metalsbased *** first-principles calculations reveal that the interlayer interaction between the pyridinic N-doped graphene and the confined Co nanoparticles increases the electronic states of the active C atoms near the Fermi level,thus enhancing the adsorption of the HOO*intermediate and generating superior catalytic activity for bifunctional oxygen *** comprehensively studying the structural factors of catalysts,the bifunctional catalytic behaviors,the use in a practical Zn-air device,and theoretical simulations,this work may also give inspirations to the design,use,and understanding of other kinds of catalysts.

OBJECTIVES To assess the correlation between triglyceride glucose(TyG)index and in-hospital mortality in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI).METHODS A total of 2190 patients with STEMI who underwent primary angiography within 12 h from symptom onset were selected from the prospective,nationwide,multicenter CAMI *** index was calculated with the formula:Ln[fasting triglycerides(mmol/L)×fasting glucose(mmol/L)/2].Patients were divided into three groups according to the tertiles of TyG *** primary endpoint was in-hospital *** Overall,46 patients died during hospitalization,in-hospital mortality was 1.5%,2.2%,2.6%for tertile 1,tertile 2,and tertile 3,***,TyG index was not significantly correlated with in-hospital mortality in single-variable logistic regression ***,after adjusting for age and sex,TyG index was significantly associated with higher mortality when regarded as a continuous variable(adjusted OR=1.75,95%CI:1.16-2.63)or categorical variable(tertile 3 *** 1:adjus-ted OR=2.50,95%CI:1.14-5.49).Furthermore,TyG index,either as a continuous variable(adjusted OR=2.54,95%CI:1.42-4.54)or categorical variable(tertile 3 *** 1:adjusted OR=3.57,95%CI:1.24-10.29),was an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality after adjusting for multiple confounders in multivariable logistic regression *** subgroup analysis,the pro-gnostic effect of high TyG index was more significant in patients with body mass index<18.5 kg/m2(P interaction=0.006).CONCLUSIONS This study showed that TyG index was positively correlated with in-hospital mortality in STEMI patients who underwent primary angiography,especially in underweight patients.

BACKGROUND: The incidence of hepatic portal cholangiocarcinoma is increasing and it is always associated with poor survival. This study analyzed an effective therapeutic method. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was made on 70 patients with hepatic portal cholangiocarcinoma admitted between January 2004 and February 2007 to the General Hospital of Air Force PLA. RESULTS: Forty-seven patients had hepatic ductjejunum anastomosis after resection of hepatic portal cholangiocarcinorna. Internal or external biliary drainage and canals for internal radiation were performed in those patients unfit for operation. Among the 70 patients, 5 died within 15 months, 27 survived more than 24 months, and the others survived 4-18 months. CONCLUSION: Surgery is the primary therapeutic method for hepatic portal cholangiocarcinoma. Internal or external biliary drainage can prolong the life-span.

Automatic segmentation of the liver and hepatic lesions from abdominal 3D comput-ed tomography(CT)images is fundamental tasks in computer-assisted liver surgery ***,due to complex backgrounds,ambiguous boundaries,heterogeneous appearances and highly varied shapes of the liver,accurate liver segmentation and tumor detection are stil-1 challenging *** address these difficulties,we propose an automatic segmentation framework based on 3D U-net with dense connections and globally optimized ***-ly,a deep U-net architecture with dense connections is trained to learn the probability map of the *** the probability map goes into the following refinement step as the initial surface and prior *** segmentation of liver tumor is based on the similar network architecture with the help of segmentation results of *** order to reduce the infuence of the surrounding tissues with the similar intensity and texture behavior with the tumor region,during the training procedure,I x liverlabel is the input of the network for the segmentation of liver *** do-ing this,the accuracy of segmentation can be *** proposed method is fully automatic without any user *** qualitative and quantitative results reveal that the pro-posed approach is efficient and accurate for liver volume estimation in clinical *** high correlation between the automatic and manual references shows that the proposed method can be good enough to replace the time-consuming and non-reproducible manual segmentation method.

Erythropoiesis-stimulating agents in the management of cancer patients with anemia: a meta-analysis

Background： Erythropoiesis-stimulating agents （ESAs） are widely used in the management of anemia in cancer patients. Despite their apparent effectiveness, recent studies have suggested that ESAs could result in serious adverse events and even higher mortality. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the benefits and risks of ESAs in the management of cancer patients with anemia using a recta-analysis. Methods： The initial literature search covered Medline, PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Center Register of Controlled Trials, and identified 1,569 articles. The final meta-analysis included eight randomized controlled trials （n=2,387） in cancer patients with 〈11 g/dL hemoglobin （Hb） at the baseline and target Hb （for stopping ESA treatment） at no more than 13 g/dL. The assessment measures included Hb response, blood transfusion rate and adverse events that included venous thromboemblism （VTE）, hypertension, and on-study mortality. The results are expressed as pooled odds ratio （OR）. Publication bias was assessed using funnel plot analysis. Results： ESAs significantly increased the Hb concentration [OR 7.85, 95% confidence interval （CI）： 5.85 to 10.53, P〈O.O01] and reduced the red blood cell （RBC） transfusion rate （OR 0.52, 95% CI： 0.42 to 0.65, P〈0.001）. ESAs did not increase the accumulated adverse events （OR 0.95, P=0.82）, or the on-study mortality （OR 1.09, P=0.47）. Conclusions： ESAs are not associated with increased frequency of severe adverse events in anemic cancer patients when the target Hb value is no more than 13 g/dL.

为明确泡沫混凝土厚度和强度对组合式防护结构抗爆性能的影响,充分发挥和合理利用泡沫混凝土良好的消波特性,首先通过试验及数值模拟探讨不同泡沫混凝土厚度和强度对组合式防护结构抗爆性能的影响,并分析分层梯度泡沫混凝土在爆炸波作用下的消波特性。然后将组合式防护结构与采用中粗砂为分配层的传统成层式结构进行对比分析验证其优越性,在此基础上,总结凝练出组合式防护结构的主体结构荷载可控的设计理念。结果表明,利用泡沫混凝土材料较长的屈服平台和较低的波阻抗,以泡沫混凝土作为能量调控层,通过设计泡沫混凝土强度等级(密度等级)和厚度以及采用多层梯度泡沫混凝土,可使得作用于主体结构上的爆炸荷载峰值恰为泡沫混凝土屈服强度,实现对主体结构上荷载的可控设计,有效解决了中粗砂为分配层的传统成层式结构不易控制作用于主体结构上荷载的问题。研究结果可为抗新型钻地弹的防护设计提供重要参考。
