The energetic bremsstrahlung photons up to 100 MeV produced in heavy ion collisions can be used as a sensitive probe for short-range correlation in atomic nuclei. The energy of the γ-rays can be measured by collecting the Čerenkov light in the medium induced by the fast electrons generated in the Compton scattering or electromagnetic shower of the incident γray. Two types of detectors based on pure water and lead glass as sensitive materials were designed for this purpose. The γresponse and optical photon propagation in the detectors were simulated based on electromagnetic and optical processes in Geant4. The inherent energy resolutions of 0.022(4) + 0.51(2)∕E^(1/2)_(γ) for water and 0.0026(3) + 0.446(3)∕E^(1/2)_(γ) for lead glass were obtained. The geometry sizes of the lead glass and water were optimized to 30 cm × 30 cm × 30 cm and 60 cm × 60 cm ×120 cm, respectively, to detect high-energy γ-rays at 160 MeV. The Hough transform method was applied to reconstruct the direction of the incident γ-rays, providing the ability to experimentally distinguish the high-energy γ-rays produced in the reactions on the target from random background cosmic-ray muons.

In seismology and earthquake engineering,it is fundamental to identify and characterize the pulse-like features in pulse-type ground *** capture the pulses that dominate structural responses,this study establishes congruence and shift relationships between response spectrum surfaces.A similarity search between spectrum surfaces,supplemented with a similarity search in time series,has been applied to characterize the pulse-like features in pulse-type ground *** identified pulses are tested in predicting the rocking consequences of slender rectangular blocks under the original ground ***,the prediction is promising for the majority of the ground motions where the dominant pulse is correctly identified.

Objective:Both ligament-advanced reinforcement system(LARS)and hamstring tendon autograft can serve as grafts for posterior cruciate ligament(PCL)***,few studies have compared the effectiveness of these two *** study therefore aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of arthroscopic reconstruction of the PCL using either the LARS or hamstring tendon ***:A total of 36 patients who underwent PCL reconstruction were retrospectively *** this cohort,15 patients received a reconstruction using the LARS(LARS group)and 21 using the hamstring tendon autograft(HT group).Results:The pre-and post-operative subjective scores and knee stability were evaluated and the patients were followed up for a period of 2 to 10.5 years(4.11±2.0 years on average).The last follow-up showed that functional scores and knee stability were significantly improved in both groups(P0.05).In the LARS and HT groups,12 and 9 patients,respectively exhibited KT1000 values<3 mm,with the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).In the HT group,the diameter of the four-strand hamstring tendon was positively correlated with height(P<0.05),which was 7.37±0.52 mm in males and 6.50±0.77 mm in females(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both LARS and hamstring tendon approaches achieved good efficacy for PCL reconstruction,but patients in the LARS group exhibited faster functional recovery and better knee stability in the long *** is especially suitable for those who hope to resume activities as early as possible.

AIM: To analyze the upregulated CD133 expression in tumorigenesis of primary colon cancer cells. METHODS: Upregulated CD133 expression in tumorigenesis of colorectal cancer cell lines (Lovo, Colo205, Caco-2, HCT116 and SW620) was analyzed by flow cytometry. Human colon cancer tissue samples were stained with anti-human CD133. SW620 cells were sorted according to the CD133 expression level measured by fluorescence-activated cell sorting. Spheroids of colorectal cancer cells were cultured with the hanging drop. Expression of CD133 and Lgr5 in spheroids of colorectal cancer cells and monolayer culture was detected by RT-qPCR. Spheroids of colorectal cancer cells were analyzed using anti-human CD133 with immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS: CD133 antigen was expressed in colorectal cancer cell lines (Lovo, Colo205, Caco-2, HCT116 and SW620) as well as in primary and metastatic human colon cancer tissues. However, the CD133 was differently expressed in these cell lines and tissues. The expression levels of CD133 and Lgr5 were significantly higher in spheroids of parental, CD133hi and CD133-cells than in their monolayer culture at the mRNA level (P < 0.05). Immunohistochemical staining of spheroids of CD133-cells showed that CD133 was highly expressed in colorectal cancer cell lines. CONCLUSION: Upregulated CD133 expression plays a role in tumorigenesis colorectal cancer cells, which may promote the expression of other critical genes that can drive tumorigenesis.

As a new type of nonvolatile memory,the resistive memristor has broad application prospects in in-formation storage and neural computing based on its excellent resistive switching(RS)*** present,it is still a great challenge to improve both ferroelectric polarization and leakage current to achieve a high RS on/offratio of ferroelectric ***,epitaxial Pb(Zr_(0.40)Ti_(0.60))O_(3)(PZT)thin films with low content Ca doping were deposited on the Nb:SrTiO_(3)substrate to prepare PCZT/NSTO het-erostructures and their RS behaviors were *** research findings show that compared with pure PZT film,the ferroelectric polarization of 1-mol%-Ca-doped PZT film is slightly improved,while the leak-age current is increased by three orders of ***,the RS on/offratio reaches 2.5×10^(5),about three orders of magnitude higher than pure PZT *** theoretical analysis reveals that the RS behavior of PCZT/NSTO heterostructures is controlled by the PCZT/NSTO interfacial barrier and the space charge-limited current *** results demonstrate that the ferroelectricity and electricity of ferroelectric thin films can be improved simultaneously by doping low-content Ca ions to increase the RS performance,which provides a good reference for the development of high-performance ferroelectric memristor devices.

Optimization calculations of 209 polychlorinated biphenyls （PCBs） were carried out at the B3LYP/6-31G^＊ level. It was found that there is significant correlation between the Cl substitution position and some structural parameters. Consequently, Cl substitution positions were taken as theoretical descriptors to establish a novel QSPR model for predicting –lgSw of all PCB congeners. The model achieved in this work contains four variables, of which r^2 = 0.9527, q^2 = 0.9490 and SD = 0.25 with large t values. In addition, the variation inflation factors （VIFs） of variables in this model are all less than 5.0, suggesting high accuracy of the –lgSw predicting model. And the results of cross-validation test and method validation also show that the model exhibits optimum stability and better predictive capability than that from the AM1 method.

Multivalent metal-ion batteries have attracted wide attention with the expectation of tackling the needs of large-scale electrochemical energy storage[1].Among them,rechargeable calcium(Ca)-ion batteries are known as a promising alternative to conventional lithium(Li)-ion batteries due to the high abundance of calcium(the fifth most abundant element in the earth’s crust)and its large theoretical capacity(2,073 m Ah cm^(-3))and potential(-2.87 V *** hydrogen electrode,SHE)comparable to that of Li(-3.04 V ***).Furthermore,unlike monovalent cations,the divalent calcium cations favor a two-electron transfer to increase the specific energies[2].

A novel tetraethylenepentamine(TEPA) functionalized magnetic mesoporous silica adsorbent(FNMs/TEPA) was prepared for the adsorption of Cr(Ⅲ)-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA)from wastewater. The characterization of the prepared adsorbent certified that TEPA was modified onto the magnetic mesoporous silicon(FNMs), while FNMs/TEPA maintained the ordered mesoporous and pristine magnetic properties. The batch adsorption experiments demonstrated that TEPA significantly enhanced the removal capacity of the adsorbent for Cr(Ⅲ)-EDTA. FNMs/TEPA exhibited an excellent adsorption property(13.84 mg·g-1) at p H 4.0. Even in the presence of high concentrations of coexisting ions and organic acids, the adsorption performance of FNMs/TEPA was stable. Experimental characterization and DFT demonstrated that the adsorption of Cr(Ⅲ)-EDTA was ascribed to the electrostatic interaction, hydrogen bonding, and complexation between Cr(Ⅲ)-EDTA and amino groups on the adsorbent surface. The analysis of the independent gradient model(IGM) shows that electrostatic interaction is the main mode of action in the adsorption process. Moreover, FNMs/TEPA demonstrated remarkable reusability in three regeneration cycles. These findings indicated that FNMs/TEPA possessed excellent application prospects in the disposal of wastewater containing Cr(Ⅲ)-EDTA.

Thrombolysis with intravenous tissue plasminogen activator （t-PA） is currently an approved therapy for patients with acute ischemic stroke. Acute myocardial infarction （AMI） immediately following t-PA treatment for stroke is a rare but serious complication. A case of acute myocardial infarction （MI） following IV t-PA infusion for acute stroke was observed. This is a 52-year-old male with a known history of hypertension and chest pain, who subsequently developed MI four hours after IV t-PA was administered for acute ischemic stroke. The disruption of intra-cardiac thrombus and subsequent embolization to the coronary arteries may be an important mechanism. In addition, spontaneous recanalization of infarct-related arteries may be associated with greater myocardial salvage and better prognosis.
