SINR Driven Joint Network Selection Policy in the Heterogeneous Internet of Things

In the heterogeneous Internet of things(Io T), the Signal to interference plus noise ratio(SINR)and delay constraint are two important factors that influence the throughput of Io T and the performance of *** recently, most network selection policy researches were based on either the Shannon theory or the signal strength, while the combined influence of the delay constraint and the SINR, which has a significant impact on resource utilization, is hardly considered. We therefore propose an SINR driven joint network selection policy, which incorporates the delay constraint and the signal strength into the SINR. This policy permits Io T users to access the network with the maximum of SINR from all the available networks under the delay and signal strength *** analysis and the simulation results show that the joint network selection policy can obtain the higher throughput of Io T and average SINR comparing with other polices.

Study of primordial deuterium abundance in Big Bang nucleosynthesis

Big Bang nucleosynthesis(BBN)theory predicts the primordial abundances of the light elements^(2) H(referred to as deuterium,or D for short),^(3)He,^(4)He,and^(7) Li produced in the early *** these,deuterium,the first nuclide produced by BBN,is a key primordial material for subsequent *** date,the uncertainty in predicted deuterium abundance(D/H)remains larger than the observational *** this study,the Monte Carlo simulation code PRIMAT was used to investigate the sensitivity of 11 important BBN reactions to deuterium *** found that the reaction rate uncertainties of the four reactions d(d,n)^(3)He,d(d,p)t,d(p,γ)^(3)He,and p(n,γ)d had the largest influence on the calculated D/H ***,the calculated D/H uncertainty cannot reach observational precision even with the recent LUNA precise d(p,γ)^(3) He *** the nuclear physics aspect,there is still room to largely reduce the reaction-rate uncertainties;hence,further measurements of the important reactions involved in BBN are still necessary.A photodisintegration experiment will be conducted at the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source Facility to precisely study the deuterium production reaction of p(n,γ)d.

High-throughput computational screening of oxide double perovskites for optoelectronic and photocatalysis applications

Oxide double perovskites A2 B’B"O6 are a class of emerging materials in the fields of optoelectronics and *** to the chemical flexibilities of perovskite structures,there are multiple elemental combinations of cations A,B’,and B",which leading to tremendous *** this study,we comprehensively screened stable oxide double perovskite A2 B’B"O6 from a pool of 2,018 perovskite candidates using a high-throughput computational *** considering a tolerance factor(t)-octahedral factor(μ) phase diagram,138 candidates with Fm 3 m, P21/c,and R3 c phases were selected and systematically studied via first-principles calculations based on density functional *** screening procedure finally predicted the existence of 21 stable perovskites,and 14 among them have never been *** with existing experimental results demonstrates that the prediction accuracy for perovskite formability is approximately 90%.The predicted oxide double perovskites exhibit quasi-direct bandgaps ranging from 0 to 4.4 eV with a significantly small direct-indirect bandgap difference,balanced electron and hole effective masses,and strong optical *** newly predicted oxide double perovskites may enlarge the pool of material candidates for applications in optoelectronics and *** study provides a route for computational screening of novel perovskites for functional applications.

Effects of cavitation on vortex-induced vibration of a flexible circular cylinder simulated by fluid-structure interaction method

To investigate the effects of the cavitation on the vortex-induced vibration,the flow and the vibration characteristics of a flexible circular cylinder in the non-cavitating and cavitating flows at Re=200 are simulated using a fluid-structure interaction(FSI)solver,developed in the OpenFOAM *** accuracy of the fluid-structure interaction solver is verified using the benchmark *** a freely vibrating circular cylinder,the characteristics of the vortex-induced vibration are determined at different frequency *** frequency lock-in is observed in both the cavitating flow and the non-cavitating flow,and the lock-in frequency range is larger in the cavitating flow with a smaller vibration *** the lock-in frequency range,due to the reduction of the fluid forces and the resonance effects at the dominant frequency,the vibration amplitude is decreased in the cavitating flow,as compared to the non-cavitating ***,the low-density vapor and the cavitation collapse weaken the constraints of the flow and the stability of the shedding vortices,respectively,making the flow around the circular cylinder more sensitive to the structural ***,the lock-in frequency range is larger in the cavitating flow.

An accelerated aging assisted by electric current in a Fe-Mn-Al-C low-density steel

An aging method assisted by electric current was applied to a Fe-18Mn-9Al-1C(wt.%)low-density *** improves the microstructure and therefore significantly increases both the yield strength and ductility of the *** current-assisted aging method can increase the yield strength by 178 MPa and elongation by 1.16 times in only 0.5 min at 450℃.However,the yield strength is increased only 90 MPa by the traditional aging method(heat conduction)at 450℃ for 180 min,and the elongation is even decreased from 42.0%to 31.6%.The obvious improvement in yield strength by the current-assisted aging for a short time is resulted from the fact that the current-assisted aging promotes a rapid precipitation of nano-scaleκ-carbides inγ-austenite by reducing the thermodynamic barrier and accelerating the atomic *** work demonstrates that this current-assisted aging method is significantly time saving and cost-effective for low-density steels,with potential for various industrial applications.

Assimilation of temporal-spatial leaf area index into the CERES-Wheat model with ensemble Kalman filter and uncertainty assessment for improving winter wheat yield estimation

To accurately estimate winter wheat yields and analyze the uncertainty in crop model data assimilations, winter wheat yield estimates were obtained by assimilating measured or remotely sensed leaf area index （LAI） values. The performances of the calibrated crop environment resource synthesis for wheat （CERES-Wheat） model for two different assimilation scenarios were compared by employing ensemble Kalman filter （EnKF）-based strategies. The uncertainty factors of the crop model data assimilation was analyzed by considering the observation errors, assimilation stages and temporal-spatial scales. Overalll the results indicated a better yield estimate performance when the EnKF-based strategy was used to comprehen- sively consider several factors in the initial conditions and observations. When using this strategy, an adjusted coefficients of determination （R2） of 0.84, a root mean square error （RMSE） of 323 kg ha-1, and a relative errors （RE） of 4.15% were obtained at the field plot scale and an R2 of 0.81, an RMSE of 362 kg ha-1, and an RE of 4.52% were obtained at the pixel scale of 30 mx30 m. With increasing observation errors, the accuracy of the yield estimates obviously decreased, but an acceptable estimate was observed when the observation errors were within 20%. Winter wheat yield estimates could be improved significantly by assimilating observations from the middle to the end of the crop growing seasons. With decreasing assimilation frequency and pixel resolution, the accuracy of the crop yield estimates decreased; however, the computation time decreased. It is important to consider reasonable temporal-spatial scales and assimilation stages to obtain tradeoffs between accuracy and computation time, especially in operational systems used for regional crop yield estimates.
