Distinct roles of the IRE1αarm and PERK arm of unfolded protein response in arachidonic acid-induced ferroptosis in hepatocytes

Ferroptosis is a distinct form of cell death that is driven by iron-dependent phospholipid *** fatty acids(PUFAs),particularly arachidonic acid(AA)and adrenal acid(AdA),are most prone to lipid peroxidation,which induces ferroptosis and affects the function of cell *** this study,we discovered that AA induces ferritinophagy in hepatocytes,a selective form of autophagy that degrades ferritin,triggering unstable iron ***,AA enhances cellular uptake of bound iron by up-regulating transferrin receptor 1(TfR1).Additionally,AA induces endoplasmic reticulum stress(ER stress)and simultaneously activates two of its branches,pancreatic ER kinase(PERK)and inositol-requiring enzyme 1(IRE1).Notably,PERK and IRE1 appear to play distinct roles in inducing *** of PERK reduced the AA-induced increase of Fe^(2+)by alleviating ferritinophagy,while inhibition of IRE1 further exacerbated ferroptosis by activating ***,there seems to be an interaction between the signaling pathways of ER stress,and inhibition of IRE1 exacerbates AA-induced ferritinophagy by further activating the PERK signaling pathway,thereby exacerbating the extent of cell ***,our findings suggest that iron overload is involved in AA-induced hepatocyte ferroptosis and that this process is regulated by ER stress-mediated *** study suggests potential therapeutic strategies for treating liver diseases related to lipid metabolism disorders by intervening in the ferroptosis process.

RUL of Un-burnt High Purity Silica Bricks Used in Glass Industry

High purity silica bricks have stable physical properties,except for the RUL （0.2 MPa） exhibiting extreme two different levels of high-level RUL T0.6 of 1 683-1 686 ℃ and low-level RUL T0.6 of1 174-1 184 ℃.The low RUL phenomenon was researched,the formation reasons and solutions were analyzed in this *** low-level RUL T0.6 of 1 174-1 184 ℃ of the un-burnt high purity silica bricks is a pseudo RUL T0.6 phenomenon for the transformation of crystalline *** real RUL T0.6 of the specimen hot treated at 1 093 ℃ is ＞ 1 680 ℃.Therefore,the un-burnt high purity silica bricks shall be hot treated at about 1 100 ℃ firstly before testing *** the heating up of the lining of glass tank arch,baking curves with long holding time at 1 100 ℃ shall be strictly obeyed to avoid the obvious shrinkage negatively influencing the lining stability.

Behavior of phosphorus enrichment in dephosphorization slag at low temperature and low basicity

At low basicity and low temperature, the dephosphorization behavior and phosphorus distribution ratio(LP) between slag and molten steel in the double slag and remaining slag process were studied with a 180 t basic oxygen furnace industrial *** dephosphorization slags with different basicities were quantitatively *** the lower basicity range of 0.9–2.59, both LP and dephosphorization ratio were increased as the basicity of dephosphorization slag *** slag consisted of dark gray P-rich, light gray liquid slag,and white Fe-rich *** increasing basicity, not only did the morphologies of different phases in the dephosphorization slag change greatly, but the area fractions and P2O5 content of the P-rich phase also *** transfer route of P during dephosphorization can be deduced as hot metal → liquid slag phase + Fe-rich phase → P-rich phase.

Quantification of displacement and particle crushing around a penetrometer tip

Particle crushing occurs near the tip of a penetrometer and influences the development of the tip *** study particle crushing near a penetrometer tip,a cone penetrometer was monotonically jacked and then load-tested in medium dense and dense silica sand samples prepared in a halfcylindrical calibration chamber with viewing *** the tests,images of the advancing penetrometer and the surrounding soil were taken using digital cameras and analyzed to obtain the displacement and strain fields around the penetrometer using the Digital Image Correlation(DIC)***,soil samples were collected near the tip of the penetrometer using a novel agarimpregnation technique and digitized using an X-ray *** digitized samples were analyzed to reconstruct the three-dimensional models of individual particles,generating the gradation and relative breakage parameters of the sand around the cone penetrometer.

Genomic insights on the contribution of introgressions from Xian/Indica to the genetic improvement of Geng/Japonica rice cultivars

Hybridization between Xian/indica(XI)and Geng/japonica(GJ)rice combined with utilization of plant ideotypes has greatly contributed to yield improvements in modern GJ rice in China over the past 50 *** explore the genomic basis of improved yield and disease resistance in GJ rice,we conducted a large-scale genomic landscape analysis of 816 elite GJ cultivars representing multiple eras of germplasm from *** detected consistently increasing introgressions from three XI subpopulations into GJ cultivars since the 1980s and found that the XI genome introgressions significantly increased the grain number per panicle(GN)and decreased the panicle number per *** contributed to the improvement of plant type during modern breeding,changing multi-tiller plants tomoderate tiller plants with a large panicle size and increasing the blast ***,we found that key gene haplotypes controlling plant architecture,yield components,and pest and disease resistance,including IPA1,SMG1,DEP3,Pib,Pi-d2,and Bph3,were introduced from XI rice by *** GWAS analysis,we detected a GN-related gene Gnd5,which had been consistently introgressed from XI into GJ cultivars since the ***5 is a GRAS transcription factor gene,and Gnd5 knockout mutants showed a significant reduction in *** estimated genetic effects of genes varied among different breeding locations,which explained the distinct introgression levels of XI gene haplotypes,including Gnd5,DEP3,etc.,to these GJ breeding *** findings reveal the genomic contributions of introgressions from XI to the trait improvements of GJ rice cultivars and provide new insights for future rice genomic breeding.

Numerical and experimental study on the falling film flow characteristics with the effect of co-current gas flow in hydrogen liquefaction process

Liquid hydrogen storage and transportation is an effective method for large-scale transportation and utilization of hydrogen energy. Revealing the flow mechanism of cryogenic working fluid is the key to optimize heat exchanger structure and hydrogen liquefaction process(LH2). The methods of cryogenic visualization experiment, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are conducted to study the falling film flow characteristics with the effect of co-current gas flow in LH2spiral wound heat *** results show that the flow rate of mixed refrigerant has a great influence on liquid film spreading process, falling film flow pattern and heat transfer performance. The liquid film of LH2mixed refrigerant with column flow pattern can not uniformly and completely cover the tube wall surface. As liquid flow rate increases, the falling film flow pattern evolves into sheet-column flow and sheet flow, and liquid film completely covers the surface of tube wall. With the increase of shear effect of gas-phase mixed refrigerant in the same direction, the liquid film gradually becomes unstable, and the flow pattern eventually evolves into a mist flow.

Autism spectrum disorder can be differentiated into three subtypes （aloof, passive, and active-but-odd） based on social behaviors according to the Wing Subgroups Questionnaire （WSQ）. However, the correlations between the scores on some individual items and the total score are poor. In the present study, we translated the WSQ into Chinese, modified it, validated it in autistic and typically- developing Chinese children, and renamed it the Beijing Autism Subtyping Questionnaire （BASQ）. Our results demonstrated that the BASQ had improved validity and reliability, and differentiated autistic children into these three subtypes more precisely. We noted that the autistic symptoms tended to be severe in the aloof, moderate in the passive, and mild in the active-but-odd subtypes. The modified questionnaire may facilitate etiological studies and the selection of therapeutic regimes.

A high precision computing method for heat transfer in the process of oil-water displacement

The process of oil-water displacement is one of the key technologies in offshore underwater *** hot oil is contacting the normal-temperature water,the interfacial heat transfer should be investigated as the heat loss may result in wax precipitation and solidification which will reduce the flowing of oil and thus affect the *** for the numerical simulation of heat transfer,the calculation is costly as the underwater tank is usually large and the displacement period is long.A high precision computing method would greatly reduce the mesh ***,this research is performed to establish a high precision computing *** on volume of fluid(VOF),a new form of energy equation is *** equation is derived from temperature equation and the variable internal energy per volume is *** variable is additive and has a close relationship with volume *** algorithm implantation to OpenFOAM,two non-isothermal VOF solvers are established corresponding to temperature equation and the new equation *** an analytical solution is built,the two solvers are *** solver based on the new equation presents far more accurate results than the solver based on temperature *** energy weighted scheme is more reasonable than a linear temperature distribution for the mixture phase.

OVATE family proteins(OFPs)are plant-specific proteins with a conserved OVATE domain that regulate plant growth and *** OFPs have been studied in several species,their biological functions remain largely unknown in cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.).This study identified 19 Cs OFPs distributed on seven chromosomes in *** Cs OFP genes were expressed in reproductive organs,but with different expression *** expression of Cs OFP12-16c in Arabidopsis resulted in shorter and blunt *** overall results indicated that Cs OFP12-16c regulates silique development in Arabidopsis and may have a similar function in cucumber.
