TRIM21-dependent ultrasmall chiral gold nanoparticles for preventing microglia senescence against Alzheimer's disease

Tripartite motif 21(TRIM21)is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that shows great promise for protein degradation through ***,ultrasmall chiral gold nanoparticles(D-or L-NPs)modified by D-or L-glutathione ligands were *** conjugated with an NLR family pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3)antibody(D-NP-a NLRP3 or L-NP-a NLRP3),DNP-a NLRP3 showed effective delivery efficiency of the antibody into microglia and prevented Aβ-mediated microglia senescence,and p16^(ink4a),a marker of senescence,in the microglia was reduced by 90.3%±7.8% while L-NP-a NLRP3 decreased by 48.01%±3.1%.Mechanistic investigations revealed that the D-NP-a NLRP3((1.5±0.3)×10^(7)M^(-1))exhibited sixteen-fold larger binding affinity to transmembrane glycoprotein SLC3A2 than L-type((9.5±2.7)×10^(5)M^(-1)),which led to a high efficiency of antibody delivery and TRIM21-dependent NLRP3 ***,the blood-brain barrier(BBB)-crossing ability of chiral NP-a NLRP3 as well as NLRP3 degradation was demonstrated in *** APP/PS1 Alzheimer's disease(AD)model mice experiments exhibited a reduction of 89.7%±6.8% for the NLRP3 protein and 84.2±7.5% for p16^(ink4a)following the intravenous administration of D-NP-a NLRP3 once a week for 60 ***,the levels of the AD markers Aβ and phosphorylatedTau in the brains were reduced by 86.2%±8.2% and 81.6%±9.1%;these were 2.1-fold and 1.9-fold higher than those treated with L-NP-a NLRP3,*** studies provide a method to rescue AD-like pathologies and prevent senescence.

Geomechanical model test for analysis of surrounding rock behaviours in composite strata

Due to the large differences in physico-mechanical pro perties of composite strata,jamming,head sinking and other serious consequences occur frequently during tunnel boring machine(TBM)*** analyse the stability of surrounding rocks in composite strata under the disturbance of TBM excavation,a geomechanical model test was carried out based on the Lanzhou water supply *** evolution patterns and distribution characteristics of the strain,stress,and tunnel deformation and fracturing were *** results showed that during TBM excavation in the horizontal composite formations(with upper soft and lower hard layers and with upper hard and lower soft layers),a significant difference in response to the surrounding rocks can be *** the strength ratio of the surrounding rocks decreases,the ratio of the maximum strain of the hard rock mass to that of the relatively soft rock mass gradually *** radial stress of the relatively soft rock mass is smaller than that of the hard rock mass in both types of composite strata,indicating that the weak rock mass in the composite formation results in the difference in the mechanical behaviours of the surrounding *** displacement field of the surrounding rocks obtained by the digital speckle correlation method(DSCM)and the macro-fracture morphology after tunnel excavation visually reflected the deformation difference of the composite rock ***,some suggestions and measures were provided for TBM excavation in composite strata,such as advance geological forecasting and effective monitoring of weak rock masses.

Erosion Behavior of NiCoCrFeNb_(0.45) Eutectic High-Entropy Alloy in Liquid-Solid Two-Phase Flow

The metal components exposed to the high-velocity liquid-solid flow can be rapidly eroded by the accelerated *** an excellent combination of strength and toughness,the NiCoCrFeNb_(0.45)eutectic high-entropy alloy(EHEA)has emerged as a promising material to resist erosion *** this study,the erosion behavior of NiCoCrFeNb_(0.45)EHEA in high-velocity multiphase flow is investigated through the coupling analysis of material properties,multiphase flow,and particle–surface impact *** inherent mathematical relationship is discovered between the erosion rates and the impact velocity,impact angle,and test *** results show that the NiCoCrFeNb_(0.45)EHEA has superior erosion resistance than the commonly used machinery *** principal material removal mechanism is the formation and brittle fracture of the platelets,accompanied by micro-cutting and ploughing at some oblique *** higher work-hardenability of NiCoCrFeNb_(0.45)EHEA could mitigate the erosion damage as time proceeds,and this effect becomes more apparent as the impact angle ***,the evolution of erosion damage with time varies significantly depending on the impact *** on the test data and computational fluid dynamics(CFD)modeling of the near-wall flow field,a power exponential function relationship between erosion depth and the corresponding impact velocity at various locations on the material surface is established.

Few-layered hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets stabilized Pt NPs for oxidation promoted adsorptive desulfurization of fuel oil

A few-layered hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets stabilized platinum nanoparticles(Pt/h-BNNS)is engineered for oxidation-promoted adsorptive desulfurization(OPADS)of fuel *** was found that the few-layered structure and the defective sites of h-BNNS not only are beneficial to the stabilization of Pt NPs but also favor the adsorption of aromatic *** employing Pt/h-BNNS with a Pt loading amount of 1.19 wt%as the active adsorbent and air as an oxidant,a 98.0%sulfur removal over dibenzothiophene(DBT)is achieved along with a total conversion of the DBT to the corresponding sulfones(DBTO_(2)).Detailed experiments show that the excellent desulfurization activity originates from the few-layered structure of h-BNNS and the high catalytic activity of Pt *** addition,the OPADS system with Pt/h-BNNS as the active adsorbent shows remarkable stability in desulfurization performance with the existence of different interferents such as olefin,and aromatic ***,the Pt/h-BNNS can be recycled 12 times without a significant decrease in desulfurization ***,a process flow diagram is proposed for deep desulfurization of fuel oil and recovery of high value-added products,which would promote the industrial application of such OPADS strategy.

Grafting of MIPs from PVDF Membranes via Reversible Addition-fragmentation Chain Transfer Polymerization for Selective Removal of p-Hydroxybenzoic Acid

Effective molecularly imprinted membranes（MIMs） were developed as an efficient adsorbent for the selective removal ofp-hydroxybenzoic acid（p-HB） from acetylsalicylic acid（ASA, aspirin）. The MIMs were grafted successfully from poly（vinylidene fluoride） microfiltration membranes via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer（RAFT） polymerization. The graft copolymerization of acrylic acid（AA） in the presence of template p-hydroxybenzoic acid led to molecularly imprinted polymer（MIP） film coated membranes. The obtained MIMs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer（FTIR） and Raman spectra, and batch mode adsorption studies were carried ont to investigate the specific adsorption equilibrium, kinetics and selective recognition properties of different MIMs. The kinetic properties of the MIMs could be well described by the pseudo-second-order rate equation. Selective permeation experiments were performed to evaluate the permeation selectivity of the p-HB imprinted membranes. The observed performances of the MIMs are applicable to the further purification of aspirin.
