Effects of V Addition on Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties of AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2) High‑Entropy Alloys

The effects of vanadium addition on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2) high-entropy alloy(HEA)were investigated.The results showed that the AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)V_(0.2) HEA was composed of FCC phase,disordered BCC phase,and ordered BCC(B2)phase.With the increase in vanadium content,the formation of FCC phase was inhibited,and a transition from FCC phase to BCC phase occurred.The FCC phase disappeared completely when the value of x exceeds 0.4 in AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)V_(x) HEAs.Besides,the amplitude-modulated microstructure morphology transformed from a B2 phase matrix with dispersed BCC nano-phase into an alternating interconnected B2 and BCC phases.Vanadium element has the function of stabilizing BCC phase and B2 phase in AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)V_(x) alloys.The hardness of AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)V_(x) alloys increased from HV 332.4 to HV 590.7,while the yield strength increased from 765 to 1744.6 MPa with increasing vanadium content,which was mainly due to the decreasing content of FCC phase and the solid solution strengthening of vanadium element.At the same time,the compression ratio of the alloys decreased with the disappearance of the FCC phase.Among the alloys,the AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)V_(0.2) alloy possessed the most excellent comprehensive mechanical properties with yield strength,fracture strength,and compressive ratio 1231.1,2861.9 MPa,and 44.5%,respectively.

Building energy consumption and building carbon emissions both account for more than 20%of their total national values in China.Building employing phase change material(PCM)for passive temperature control shows a promising prospect in meeting the comfort demand and reducing energy consumption simultaneously.However,there is a lack of more detailed research on the interaction between the location and thickness of PCM and indoor natural convection,as well as indoor temperature distribution.In this study,the numerical model of a passive temperature-controlled building integrating the developed PCM module is established with the help of ANSYS.In which,the actual weather condition of Beijing city is set as the boundary conditions and the indoor natural convection is simulated with the consideration of radiation model.The effects of PCM’s thickness and location on the internal temperature field are analyzed and discussed.The results show that the room could maintain within the human comfort temperature range with the longest ratio of 94.10%and the shortest ratio of 51.04%as integrating PCM.In comparison,the value is only 26.70%without PCM.The room’s maximum temperature fluctuation can also be improved;it could be lowered by 64.4%compared to the normal condition.When the quantity of PCM is sufficient,further increasing the PCM amount results in a temperature fluctuation reduction of less than 0.1°C and does not increase the comfort time.Placing PCM on the wall induces an apparent variation in indoor temperature along the vertical direction.Conversely,placing PCM on the roof can lead to a heat transfer rate difference of up to seven times.The optimal placement of PCM depends on the difference between the environmental and phase change temperatures.If the difference is positive,placing PCM on the roof is more effective;conversely,the opposite holds.According to the results over the entire cycle,PCM application on vertical walls yields better performance.The significant difference in natural convection caused by the same t

Climate warming profoundly affects hydrological changes,agricultural production,and human society.Arid and semi-arid areas of China are currently displaying a marked trend of warming and wetting.The Chinese Tianshan Mountains(CTM)have a high climate sensitivity,rendering the region particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate warming.In this study,we used monthly average temperature and monthly precipitation data from the CN05.1 gridded dataset(1961-2014)and 24 global climate models(GCMs)of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)to assess the applicability of the CMIP6 GCMs in the CTM at the regional scale.Based on this,we conducted a systematic review of the interannual trends,dry-wet transitions(based on the standardized precipitation index(SPI)),and spatial distribution patterns of climate change in the CTM during 1961-2014.We further projected future temperature and precipitation changes over three terms(near-term(2021-2040),mid-term(2041-2060),and long-term(2081-2100))relative to the historical period(1961-2014)under four shared socio-economic pathway(SSP)scenarios(i.e.,SSP1-2.6,SSP2-4.5,SSP3-7.0,and SSP5-8.5).It was found that the CTM had experienced significant warming and wetting from 1961 to 2014,and will also experience warming in the future(2021-2100).Substantial warming in 1997 was captured by both the CN05.1 derived from interpolating meteorological station data and the multi-model ensemble(MME)from the CMIP6 GCMs.The MME simulation results indicated an apparent wetting in 2008,which occurred later than the wetting observed from the CN05.1 in 1989.The GCMs generally underestimated spring temperature and overestimated both winter temperature and spring precipitation in the CTM.Warming and wetting are more rapid in the northern part of the CTM.By the end of the 21st century,all the four SSP scenarios project warmer and wetter conditions in the CTM with multiple dry-wet transitions.However,the rise in precipitation fails to counterbalance the drought induced by escalating temperatu

In this paper,the multi-body coupled dynamic characteristics of a semisubmersible platform and an HYSY 229 barge were investigated.First,coupled hydrodynamic analysis of the HYSY 229 barge and the semisubmersible platform was performed.Relevant hydrodynamic parameters were obtained using the retardation function method of three-dimensional frequency-domain potential flow theory.The results of the hydrodynamic analysis were highly consistent with the test findings,verifying the accuracy of the multifloating hydrodynamic coupling analysis,and key hydrodynamic parameters were solved for different water depths and the coupling effect.According to the obtained results,the hydrodynamic influence was the largest in shallow waters when the coupling effect was considered.Furthermore,the coupled motion equation combined with viscous damping,fender system,and mooring system was established,and the hydrodynamics,floating body motion,and dynamic response of the fender system were analyzed.Motion analysis revealed good agreement among the surge,sway,and yaw motions of the two floating bodies.However,when the wave period reached 10 s,the motion of the two floating bodies showed severe shock,and a relative motion was also observed.Therefore,excessive constraints should be added between the two floating bodies during construction to ensure construction safety.The numerical analysis and model test results of the semisubmersible platform and HYSY 229 barge at a water depth of 42 m and sea conditions of 0°,45°,and 90° were in good agreement,and the error was less than 5%.The maximum movement of the HYSY 229 barge reached 2.61 m in the sway direction,whereas that of the semisubmersible platform was 2.11 m.During construction,excessive constraints should be added between the two floating bodies to limit their relative movement and ensure construction safety.

Through interface engineering and content control strategy,a PdBi bimetallic interface structure was constructed for the first time to selectively convert CO_(2)to formate with a remarkably high Faraday efficiency(FEformate)of 94%and a partial current density(jformate)of 34 mA·cm^(−2)at−0.8 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)in an H-cell.Moreover,the PdBi interface electrocatalyst even exhibited a high current density of 180 mA·cm^(−2)with formate selectivity up to 92%in a flow cell and could steadily operate for at least 20 h.Electrochemical in-situ attenuated total reflection surface enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy(ATR-SEIRAS)confirmed that the PdBi interface could greatly weaken the adsorption of*CO intermediates due to electronic and geometric effects.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations also established that the PdBi interface regulated the CO_(2)-to-formate pathway by reducing the energy barrier toward HCOOH and largely weakening the adsorption of*CO intermediates on the catalyst surface.This study reveals that the unique PdBi bimetallic interface can provide a novel platform to study the reaction mechanism through combining in-situ ATR-SEIRAS and DFT calculations.

Preferential transport activity of Dk DTX5/MATE5 affects the formation of different astringency in persimmon

Proanthocyanidins(PAs) are specialized metabolites that infuence persimmon fruit quality.Normal astringent(A)-type and non-astringent(NA)-type mutants show significant variation in PA accumulation, but the infuencing mechanism remains unclear. In this study, among the six identified DTXs/MATEs proteins associated with PA accumulation, we observed that allelic variation and preferential transport by Dk DTX5/MATE5 induced variation in PA accumulation for A-type and NA-type fruit. The expression pattern of Dk DTX5/MATE5 was correlated with PA accumulation in NA-type fruit. Upregulation and downregulation of Dk DTX5/MATE5 promoted and inhibited PA accumulation, respectively, in the NA-type fruit. Interestingly, transporter assays of Xenopus laevis oocytes indicated that Dk DTX5/MATE5 preferentially transported the PA precursors catechin, epicatechin, and epicatechin gallate, resulting in their increased ratios relative to the total PAs, which was the main source of variation in PA accumulation between the A-type and NA-type. The allele lacking Ser-84 in Dk DTX5/MATE5 was identified as a dominantly expressed gene in the A-type and lost its transport function. Site-directed mutagenesis revealed that Dk DTX5/MATE5 binds to PA precursors via Ser-84. These findings clarify the association between the transporter function of Dk DTX5/MATE5 and PA variation, and can contribute to the breeding of new cultivars with improved fruit quality.

A temperature-insensitive sensor for glucose brix measurement based on compact spindle-shaped structure with two-mode fiber(TMF) is proposed. Due to the bending of optical fiber caused by flame baking, some of the light energy transmitted in the core leaks into the cladding area as an evanescent wave, which excites the higher-order cladding mode of the sensor. The experimental results show that when the length of TMF is 3 cm and the bending diameter is 4 mm, the maximum glucose brix sensitivity of the sensor is 0.368 nm/% from 0 to 21%. The sensor is insensitive to temperature from 10 °C to 50 °C, which can avoid the problem of temperature cross-sensitivity. A compact spindle-shaped sensor is a potential effective sensor with a simple structure, easy fabrication and low cost. The sensor can be used to detect glucose content in areas such as crops quality assessment and the research of pharmacy and bioengineering.

The typical quadrangular and triangular elements for thin plate bending based on Kirchhoff assumptions are the non- conforming elements with low computational accuracy and limitative application range in fmite element method（FEM）. Some compatible elements can be developed by the means of supplementing correction functions, increasing nodes in element or on the boundaries, expanding nodal degrees of freedom（DOF）, etc, but these elements are inconvenient to apply in practice for the high calculation complexity. In this paper, in order to overcome the defects of thin plate bending finite element, numerical manifold method（NMM） was introduced to solve thin plate bending deformation problem. Rectangular mesh was adopted as mathematical mesh to form f＇mite element cover system, and then 16-cover manifold element was proposed. Numerical manifold formulas were constructed on the basis of minimum potential energy principle, displacement boundary conditions are implemented by penalty function method, and all the element matrixes were derived in details. The 16-cover element has a simple calculation process for employing only the transverse displacement cover DOFs as the basic unknown variables, and has been proved to meet the requirements of completeness and full compatibility. As an application, the presented 16-cover element has been used to analyze bending deformation of square thin plate under different loads and boundary conditions, and the results show that numerical manifold method with compatible element, compared with finite element method, can improve computational accuracy and convergence greatly.

Seasonal change of circulating leptin associated with testicular activities of the wild ground squirrels(Citellus dauricus)

The purpose of this study was to explore the variations in the circulating leptin concentrations of the wild ground squirrels in relation to seasonal changes in testicular activities.Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed all types of elongated spermatids and spermatogenic cells existed in the testis in April,while the primary spermatocytes and spermatogonia were most advanced stages of germ cells in June.In addition,the primary spermatocytes,secondary spermatocytes,and spermatogonia were most advanced stages of germ cells in September.The highest circulating leptin concentration was consistent with the maximum body weight results from accumulation of adipose tissue in September.The mRNA expression level of leptin receptor(Ob-R)and STAT3 was lowest in June,raised in September,and remained increased in April.Ob-R and STAT3 were stronger staining in the Leydig cells in July.Moreover,the concentrations of testosterone(T)showed the maximum values in April,the minimum values in June,and signiﬁcant increases in September.Furthermore,it is worth noting that the levels of T increased with the mRNA levels of Ob-R,STAT3,StAR,and testicular steroidogenic enzymes(3β-HSD,P450c17,and P450scc).Moreover,RNA-seq analyses of testis during the different periods showed that a total of 4209 genes were differ-entially expressed genes(DEGs);further analysis revealed that DEGs related with the Jak/STAT pathways and reproduction were altered.Taken together,the results suggested that the leptin regulated testicular function through the Jak/STAT pathways and testicular steroidogenic factor expressions.
