Effect of alumina occurrence form on metallurgical properties of hematite and magnetite pellets

The effect of alumina occurrence form on the metallurgical properties of both hematite and magnetite pellets was investigated at the same Al_(2)O level of 2 wt.%,including reduction index(RI),low-temperature reduction disintegration index(RDI),reduction swelling index(RSI),and high-temperature softening-dripping performance.The mineralogy of fired pellets was also studied to reveal the influence of alumina occurrence form on the phase composition and microstructure.From the results,the alumina occurrence form presents tremendous impacts on the metallurgical perfor-mance of both magnetite and hematite pellets.Addition of all alumina occurrence forms contributes to inferior reducibility of pellets,especially in the case of gibbsite for magnetite pellets with a RI of 58.4%and kaolinite for hematite pellets with a RI of 56.8%.However,addition of all alumina occurrence forms improves the RDI of magnetite pellets,while there is no significant difference among various alumina occurrence forms.In contrast,alumina occurrence forms have little influence on the RDI of hematite pellets.The presence of free alumina,gibbsite,and kaolinite tends to improve the RSI of hematite and magnetite pellets,whereas hercynite gives the opposite trend with a RSI of 25.6%.For softening-dripping performance of magnetite pellets,all alumina occurrence forms contribute to narrower softening-melting interval.Meanwhile,alumina,gibbsite,and kaolinite give narrower softening-dripping interval,at 229,217,and 88℃,respectively,whereas addition of hercynite results in the largest melting range at 276℃ due to its high melting point.Regarding hematite pellets,free alumina,gibbsite,and hercynite tend to enlarge melting range,whereas kaolinite contributes to lower dripping temperature of 1148℃ and narrow softening-dripping interval of 88℃ due to the formation of a greater amount of slag phase at high temperatures.

Most methods for classifying hyperspectral data only consider the local spatial relation-ship among samples,ignoring the important non-local topological relationship.However,the non-local topological relationship is better at representing the structure of hyperspectral data.This paper proposes a deep learning model called Topology and semantic information fusion classification network(TSFnet)that incorporates a topology structure and semantic information transmis-sion network to accurately classify traditional Chinese medicine in hyperspectral *** uses a convolutional neural network(CNN)to extract features and a graph convolution network(GCN)to capture potential topological relationships among different types of Chinese herbal medicines.The results show that TSFnet outperforms other state-of-the-art deep learning classification algorithms in two different scenarios of herbal medicine datasets.Additionally,the proposed TSFnet model is lightweight and can be easily deployed for mobile herbal medicine classification.

The iron and steel industry(ISI) involves high energy consumption and high pollution. ISI in China, a leading country in the ISI,consumed 15% of the country’s total energy and produced more than 50% of the global ISI’s carbon emissions. Therefore, in the context of global low-carbon economy and emission reduction requirements, low-carbon smelting technology in the ISI has attracted increasingly more attention in China. This review summarizes the current status of carbon emissions and energy consumption in China’s ISI and discusses the development status and prospects of low-carbon ironmaking technology. The main route to effectively reducing carbon emissions is to develop a gas-based direct reduction process and replace sintering with pelletizing, both of which focus on developing pelletizing technology. However,the challenge of pelletizing process development is to obtain high-quality iron concentrates. Consequently, the present paper also summarizes the development status of China’s mineral processing technology, including fine-grained mineral processing technology, magnetization roasting technology, and flotation collector application. This paper aims to provide a theoretical basis for the low-carbon development of China’s ISI in terms of a dressing–smelting combination.

Integration of preparation of K,Na-embedded activated carbon and reduction of Zn-bearing dusts

Large amounts of solid wastes and flue gases are generated in iron and steel production process,probably leading to serious environmental pollution without duly handle.An innovative and green process of simultaneous reduction of zinc-bearing dusts and activation of low-rank coal was developed and its mechanism was clarified in this paper.Under the optimal conditions,the reduced zinc-bearing dusts containing low harmful elements(0.02%Zn,0.015%K and 0.03%Na)could be made as high-quality burden for blast furnace while the low-rank coal was transferred into K,Na-embedded activated carbon,which can be used as effective adsorbent for purification of SO_(2) and NO-containing flue gases.The solid wastes were successfully utilized to treat the flue gases through the process.The synergetic activation and reduction mechanism in the process was revealed.The coupling effect between reduction reactions of metal oxides in the dusts and activation reaction of carbon in the coal promoted the simultaneous reduction and activation process.In the meanwhile,part of the potassium and sodium from the zinc-bearing dusts could be adsorbed by the activated carbon and played a catalytic role in the activation process.

In the era of the Internet of Things(IoT),the provision of sustainable power to distributed,mobile,and low-power-consumption electronic devices is a critical challenge.To overcome this challenge,the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG),a highly efficient high-entropy mechanical energy harvesting device,was developed in 2012.This device enables the direct conversion of irregular and low-frequency mechanical energy into pulsed alternating current(AC)signals.However,the incompatibility of most electronic devices with AC signals necessitates rectifier circuits or generators that deliver direct current(DC)signals.In recent years,DC-TENGs have undergone extensive development,achieving significant milestones in various application fields while also facing crucial challenges that require solutions.In this review,three categories of DC-TENG devices with distinct operating mechanisms are comprehensively explored:multiphase coupling,mechanical rectification,and air breakdown.Their typical structures and working mechanisms are thoroughly discussed,and specific output performance limitations,along with corresponding optimization strategies,are identified.Furthermore,the applications of DC-TENGs in various scenarios are summarized.Finally,the challenges faced by DC-TENGs and potential solutions are analyzed to guide further advancements in this technology.

Silver(9 wt.%)was loaded on Co_(3)O_(4)-nanofiber using reduction and impregnation methods,respectively.Due to the stronger electronegativity of silver,the ratios of surface Co^(3+)/Co^(2+) on Ag/Co_(3)O_(4) were higher than on Co_(3)O_(4),which further led to more adsorbed oxygen species as a result of the charge compensation.Moreover,the introducing of silver also obviously improved the reducibility of Co_(3)O_(4).Hence the Ag/Co_(3)O_(4) showed better catalytic performance than Co_(3)O_(4) in benzene oxidation.Compared with the Ag/Co_(3)O_(4) synthesized via impregnation method,the one prepared using reduction method(named as Ag Co-R)exhibited higher contents of surface Co^(3+) and adsorbed oxygen species,stronger reducibility,as well as more active surface lattice oxygen species.Consequently,Ag Co-R showed lowest T_(90) value of 183℃,admirable catalytic stability,largest normalized reaction rate of1.36×10^(-4)mol/(h·m^(2))(150℃),and lowest apparent activation energy(E_(a))of 63.2 kJ/mol.The analyzing of in-situ DRIFTS indicated benzene molecules were successively oxidized to phenol,o-benzoquinone,small molecular intermediates,and finally to CO_(2) and water on the surface of Ag Co-R.At last,potential reaction pathways including five detailed steps were proposed.
