Peak-Shaving of the Oxy-Fuel Power Plant Coupled with Liquid O_(2)Storage

Integrating a high proportion of intermittent renewable energy provides a solution for the higher peak-shaving capacity of coal-fired power plants.Oxy-fuel combustion is one of the most promising carbon reduction technologies for coal-fired power plants.This study has proposed a novel oxy-fuel power plant that is coupled with both liquid O_(2)storage and cold energy recovery systems in order to adapt to the peak-shaving requirements.The liquid O_(2)storage system uses cheap valley electricity to produce liquid O_(2)for a later use in the peak period to enhance the peak-shaving capacity.Meanwhile,the cold energy recovery system has been introduced to recover the physical latent energy during the phase change of liquid O_(2)to increase the power generation in the peak period.Technical economies of three power plants,i.e.a 330 MW(e)oxy-fuel power plant as reference(Case 1),the same power plant coupled with only liquid O_(2)storage system(Case 2),and the same power plant coupled with both liquid O_(2)storage and cold energy recovery systems(Case 3),have been analyzed and compared.Thermodynamic performance analysis indicates that the peaking capacity of Case 3 can reach the range of 106.03 to 294.22 MW(e),and the maximum peak-shaving coefficient can be as high as 2.77.Exergy analysis demonstrates that the gross exergy efficiency of Cases 2 and 3 reaches 32.18%and 33.57%,respectively,in the peak period,which are significantly higher than that of 26.70%in Case 1.Economic analysis shows that through selling the liquid O_(2)and liquid CO_(2),combined with carbon trading,the levelized cost of electricity(LCOE)of the three cases have been greatly reduced,with the lowest one of 30.90 USD/MWh shown in Case 3.For a comprehensive consideration,Case 3 can be considered a future reference of oxy-fuel power plant with the best thermodynamic and economic performance.

Terahertz biotechnology has been increasingly applied in various biomedical fields and has especially shown great potential for application in brain sciences.In this article,we review the development of terahertz biotechnology and its applications in the field of neuropsychiatry.Available evidence indicates promising prospects for the use of terahertz spectroscopy and terahertz imaging techniques in the diagnosis of amyloid disease,cerebrovascular disease,glioma,psychiatric disease,traumatic brain injury,and myelin deficit.In vitro and animal experiments have also demonstrated the potential therapeutic value of terahertz technology in some neuropsychiatric diseases.Although the precise underlying mechanism of the interactions between terahertz electromagnetic waves and the biosystem is not yet fully understood,the research progress in this field shows great potential for biomedical noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic applications.However,the biosafety of terahertz radiation requires further exploration regarding its two-sided efficacy in practical applications.This review demonstrates that terahertz biotechnology has the potential to be a promising method in the field of neuropsychiatry based on its unique advantages.

Pd-catalyzed oxidative homocoupling of 2-arylquinazolinones was successfully developed for the direct construction of biaryls via C—H bond activation.New well-defined structure that possessed two quinazolinone units was obtained with high efficiency and atomic economy.The protocols offer an efficient approach to the synthetically useful and functionalized biaryls in good yields using quinazolinone as a directing group.

HASM quantum machine learning

The miniaturization of transistors led to advances in computers mainly to speed up their computation.Such miniaturization has approached its fundamental limits.However,many practices require better computational resources than the capabilities of existing computers.Fortunately,the development of quantum computing brings light to solve this problem.We briefly review the history of quantum computing and highlight some of its advanced achievements.Based on current studies,the Quantum Computing Advantage(QCA)seems indisputable.The challenge is how to actualize the practical quantum advantage(PQA).It is clear that machine learning can help with this task.The method used for high accuracy surface modelling(HASM)incorporates reinforced machine learning.It can be transformed into a large sparse linear system and combined with the Harrow-Hassidim-Lloyd(HHL)quantum algorithm to support quantum machine learning.HASM has been successfully used with classical computers to conduct spatial interpolation,upscaling,downscaling,data fusion and model-data assimilation of ecoenvironmental surfaces.Furthermore,a training experiment on a supercomputer indicates that our HASM-HHL quantum computing approach has a similar accuracy to classical HASM and can realize exponential acceleration over the classical algorithms.A universal platform for hybrid classical-quantum computing would be an obvious next step along with further work to improve the approach because of the many known limitations of the HHL algorithm.In addition,HASM quantum machine learning might be improved by:(1)considerably reducing the number of gates required for operating HASM-HHL;(2)evaluating cost and benchmark problems of quantum machine learning;(3)comparing the performance of the quantum and classical algorithms to clarify their advantages and disadvantages in terms of accuracy and computational speed;and(4)the algorithms would be added to a cloud platform to support applications and gather active feedback from users of the algorithms.

Nd-doped structurally disordered YSr_(3)(PO_(4))_(3) single crystal:Growth and laser performances

Disordered-structure crystals have drawn increasing attention as promising ultrashort laser material hosts owing to their broad linewidth.Herein,a novel disordered Nd:YSr_(3)(PO_(4))_(3)(Nd:YSP)crystal with good quality was successfully grown via the Czochralski pulling technique.The absorption and fluorescence spectra of the Nd:YSP single crystal were recorded at ambient temperature.The maximum absorption cross section for Nd:YSP single crystal is found to be approximately 3.89×10^(-20) cm^(2).The stimulated emission cross section for Nd:YSP crystal at~1060 nm was determined to be 7.64×10^(20) cm^(2) with the full width half maximum value of 22 nm.The fluorescence lifetime of the Nd3+ions in the Nd:YSP crystal is fitted to be 288μs.Diode-pumped continuous-wave laser operation is firstly realized at approximately 1060 nm.The maximum output power value from the Nd:YSP crystal is 714 mW,corresponding to a slope efficiency of-12.8%.The results indicate that the Nd:YSP crystal with a disordered structure may be a promising disordered laser host.

Platelet-specific antibodies and differences in their expression in childhood Immune thrombocytopenic purpura predicts clinical progression

Importance: Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is the most common bleeding disorder in children. Despite the highly spontaneously remission, still almost 20% of cases progress into chronic or refractory ITP, which seriously affects children's quality of life. Currently there is no method to predict the initial stage of childhood ITP. Objectives: To evaluate platelet-specific antibodies and compare differences in their expression in childhood ITP to predict clinical progression. Methods: This is a single-center prospective cohort study from April 2014 to October 2015. We enrolled children initially diagnosed as ITP. Anti-GPIIb/IIIa and GPIb/IX antibodies were assayed by enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA) and patients were followed up for 1 year. We also analyzed the relationship between the expression of the platelet-specific antibodies GPIIb/IIIa and GPIb/IX and their respective clinical prognoses. results: Overall, 134 cases were enrolled including 77 boys and 57 girls with a median age of 19 months (range: 1 to 159). Positive rates of anti-platelet antibodies were 79.8%. After a 1-year observation period, 84.3%were diagnosed as newly diagnosed ITP and 13.4% were diagnosed as chronic ITP. Patients with anti-GPIIb/IIIa antibody had a higher risk for newly diagnosed ITP compared with patients who were anti-GPIb/IX antibody positive only (93% vs 25%, P = 0.005;87% vs 25%, P = 0.014, respectively). There were more anti-GPIb/IX antibody positive only cases, diagnosed as chronic ITP, compared with anti-GPIIb/IIIa antibody positive only cases and double GPIIb/IIIa and GPIb/IX antibody positive cases (75% vs 7%, P = 0.005;75% vs 13%, P = 0.014, respectively). Interpretation: Patients with anti-GPIIb/IIIa antibody (either single or double) were predicted to have a good prognosis, whereas anti-GPIb/IX antibody only predicted a poor prognosis. These results should be confirmed via a larger cohort multicenter study.

It provided a basis for consistency checking and integration of different viewpoint requirements, at the same time, these checking and integration works can automatically realized in virtue of intelligent agent＇ s autonomy, proactivenes.s and social ability. Finally, we introduce the practical application of the model by the case study of data flow diagram.

Comparision of China's volatile organic compound pollution management:a computable general equilibrium approach

The public health and ecological impacts of volatile organic compound(VOCs) pollution have become a serious problem in China,arousing increasing attention to emissions control.In this context,this paper analyses the effectiveness of VOC reduction policies,namely pollution charges and environmental taxes at the national and industrial sector levels.It uses a computable general equilibrium model,which connects macroeconomic variables with VOC emissions inventory,to simulate the effects of policy scenarios(with 2007 as the reference year).This paper shows that VOC emissions are reduced by 2.2% when a pollution charge equal to the average cost of engineering reduction methods-the traditional approach to regulation in China-is applied.In order to achieve a similar reduction,an 8.9% indirect tax would have to be imposed.It concludes that an environmental tax should be the preferred method of VOC regulation due to its smaller footprint on the macroeconomy.Other policies,such as subsidies,should be used as supplements.

MoS_2 decorated lignin-derived hierarchical mesoporous carbon hybrid nanospheres with exceptional Li-ion battery cycle stability

Lignin is the most abundant and important macromolecule in organic matter and its yield is second only to cellulose. Lignin is abundant in source, low in price, and has a large number of active groups such as methoxy group and carboxyl group, so it has great utilization value. We used lignin as a carbon source to prepare porous carbon nanosphere(PCN) materials, and in-situ synthesized the MoS_ 2 on its surface. The high specific surface area(462.8 m^2/g), large pore volume and good electron conductivity of the porous carbon scaffold facilitated the reversible electro-chemical reaction of S towards metallic Li, and thus the nano-hybrid showed a high specific energy and excellent cycle stability which still remained 520m Ah/g after 50 cycles.
