Six main mitochondrial DNA （mtDNA） lineages have been described in minnow （Zacco platypus） samples obtained from northern, western and southern China Perdices et al. （2004） predicted that further sampling of other tributaries might discover more lineages of this species. In this study, we collected 26 Zacco platypus individuals in the Huangshan area of eastern China and determined the cytochrome b （cytb） sequence variations. Combined with reported data in GenBank, we identified ten matrilines （Zacco A-J） in a total of 169 samples, with relatively high molecular divergence found among them. The Huangshan population had the greatest genetic variation among all sampled regions and hosted six of the ten matrilines. Our results highlight the significance of the Huangshan area for the conservation of Zacco platypus.

One juvenile and one adult female wolf snake（Colubridae： Lycodon） were sampled at Yixian and Fuxi, Huangshan, Anhui, China in the summer of 2011 and 2012, respectively. The two specimens were identified as Lycodon liuchengchaoi based on external morphology and molecular data. This is a new reptile record in Anhui Province. In our laboratory, four eggs were laid and three neonates were hatched successfully. This is the first record of the laying and incubation of L. liuchengchaoi eggs. The five specimens were deposited at the Museum of Huangshan University（HUM20140001） and Guangdong Entomological Institute（HB-lcfsp12613, HB-lcfsp-ch1~3）.

High-efficiency single crystal cascaded third-harmonic generation(THG)was realized inβ-BaB_(2)O_(4)(BBO)material with special *** analyzing effective nonlinear optical coefficient(d_(eff))of the cascaded THG process,which was composed by type-II frequency doubling and type-I sum-frequency,the optimum phase matching(PM)direction in BBO crystal was determined to be(θ=32.1°,φ=11°).With an optimized 9-mm long sample which was processed along this direction,the highest cascaded THG conversion efficiency reached 42.3%,which is much superior to the similar components reported previously,including ADP,KDP,and Gd_(x)Y_(1-x)COB crystals.

BACKGROUND:Neurological injury is a common complication in the early period after liver transplantation,posing an enormous obstacle to treatment efficiency and patient *** is a mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium channel(mitoK ATP) *** has been reported to be effective in reducing brain injury in recent ***,it is still unclear whether nicorandil has cerebral protective effect in patients undergoing liver ***:Fifty patients scheduled for liver transplantation were randomly divided into a nicorandil group(group N)(n=25),in which patients received 10 mg nicorandil through a nasogastric tube 30 minutes before induction of anesthesia,and a control group(group C)(n=25) who received 10 mL normal *** Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) was performed before anesthesia(day 0),and on days 3 and 7 after *** samples were obtained before induction of anesthesia(T1),and at 12(T2) and 36 hours(T3) after surgery for determination of serum neuron-specific enolase(NSE) and S100β protein(S100β) ***:During surgery,5 patients in each group were eliminated due to severe reperfusion or renal ***,20 patients remained in each *** MMSE scores after operation were significantly lower than those before operation in group ***,there was no difference at days 3 and 7 compared with day 0 in group *** NSE concentrations after surgery were significantly higher than baseline(at T1) in both groups,except at T3 in group *** S100β concentration after surgery was significantly higher than baseline(at T1) in both *** MMSE scores at days 3 and 7 in group N were significantly higher than those in group *** concentrations of serum NSE and S100β at T2 and T3 in group N were significantly lower than those in group ***:Oral nicorandil,as a premedication before liver transplantation,improves postoperative MMSE *** also attenuates the increase of NSE and S100β

Objective： The aim of the study was to compare the difference of dose distribution in clinical target volume and organ at risk （OAR） between five-field intensity-modulated radiotherapy （IMRT） and conventional three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy （3DCRT） in the radiotherapy of rectal cancer. Methods： Fifteen patients with rectal cancer treated with radio- therapy （RT） were retrospectively analyzed. Among the patients, seven received RT preoperatively and 8 postoperatively. The target volume and the OARs such as the small bowel, bladder and femoral heads were contoured for each patient. 3DCRT-plan and IMRT-plan were performed for each patient respectively, with the prescribed dose covering at least 95% of the planning target volume （PTV）. The conformity index （CI） and homogeneity index （HI） were used for evaluation of the dose distribution in the target volume, and the Dx% （the lowest dose to the x% volume of the OARs that received the highest dose of irradiation） and the mean dose were used for evaluation of the dose to OARs. Paired-T test was used for companson of the difference between the two plans. Results： In the IMRT-plan and 3DCRT-plan, the CI were 0.94 and 0.87 （P = 0.000） and the HI were 1.13 and 1.17, respectively （P = 0.001）. For small bowel, the D30%, D50% and the mean dose were 19.67 Gy, 15.13 Gy and 18.81 Gy in the IMRT-plan and 25.20 Gy, 22.20 Gy and 22.89 Gy in the 3DCRT-plan, respectively （P 〈 0.001 for all pairs of parameters）. For bladder, the D30%, D50%, and the mean dose were 24.80 Gy, 34.20 Gy and 28.70 Gy in the IMRT- plan, and 35.07 Gy, 44.67 Gy and 35.68 Gy in the 3DCRT-plan, respectively （P 〈 0.001 for all pairs of parameters）. For femoral heads, the D5% in the IMRT-plan and 3DCRT-plan were 40.6 Gy and 40.47 Gy, respectively （P = 0.936）, and the mean dose were 30.14 Gy and 25.57 Gy, respectively （P = 0.001）. INTRODUCTIONCarcinoembryonic antigen ( CEA) , originally described by Gold and Freedman [1] in 1965, is now an acknowledged member of immunoglobulin superfamily[2],with a role as an intracellular adhesion molecule[3].Carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9), obtained with a monoclonal antibody produced by immunizing a monoclonal antibody produced by immunizing a mouse with a colonic cancer cell line in 1979[4],is a ligand for E-selectin that plays an important role in the addhesion of cancer cells to endothelial cells [5,6].
