Effects of final rolling temperature and coiling temperature on precipitates and microstructure of high-strength low-alloy pipeline steel

The strength-to-weight ratio is an important property of high-strength low-alloy(HSLA)steel in pipeline,whose precipitation strengthening can be improved.The final rolling temperature(FRT)and coiling temperature(CT)are the key process parameters in the control of precipitates and microstructure.Continuous cooling rate was fixed at 10℃/s,and the effects of deformation and coiling temperatures on precipitates and microstructure of Ti-Nb microalloyed HSLA steel were investigated through thermo-mechanical controlled processing on Gleeble 3500.The microstructure is mainly acicular ferrite with high density dislocation and several microns scale.The size and volume fraction of the precipitates were studied under transmission electron microscopy.The results showed that the diameter of the precipitates was in the range between 4 and 240 nm.The optimized combination of parameters is FRT of 820℃and CT of 550℃,and the volume fraction of precipitates obtained under this process is 0.59%.

In this work,we study the domain wall motion in ferrimagnet driven by a circularly polarized magnetic field using the collective coordinate theory and atomistic micromagnetic simulations,and we pay particular attention to the effect of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction(DMI).Similar to the case of antiferromagnetic domain wall,ferrimagnetic wall moves at a speed which is linearly dependent on the DMI magnitude.In addition,it is revealed that the DMI plays a role in modulating the domain wall dynamics similar to that of the net spin density,which suggests another internal parameter for controlling domain wall in ferrimagnets.Moreover,the results show that the domain wall dynamics in ferrimagnets is much faster than that in ferromagnets,which confirms again the great potential of ferrimagnets in future spintronic applications.

Ultrasmall Au nanoclusters have been proven to effectively enhance the catalytic performance of NiFe layered double hydroxides(NiFe-LDHs)toward oxygen evolution reaction(OER),yet the surface ligand effect of the Au nanoclusters still remains elusive.Herein,a systematic study is reported to examine the OER performance of NiFe-LDHs supported atom-precise all alkynyl-protected[Au_(28)(~tBuC≡C)17]~-nanoclusters(Au_(28)-Alkynyl in short)and thiolate-protected Au_(28)(TBBT)_(20)(TBBT=4-tert-butylbenzene thiol)counterp arts(Au_(28)-Thiolate in short).The Au_(28)-Alkynyl cluster has characteristic absorbance feature,and its composition is verified by mass spectrometry.It possesses a drastically different structure from the reported mixed ligand protected Au_(28)nanoclusters.Interestingly,the NiFe-LDHs loaded with Au_(28)-Alkynyl exhibited a superior OER performance than the sample loaded with Au28-Thiolate under the same conditions,evidenced by a smaller overpotential of 205 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)and a lower Tafel slope value of 41.0 mV·dec^(-1)in 1 mol·L^(-1)KOH.Such excellent performance is attributed to the interfaces created between the NiFe-LDHs and the Au nanoclusters,as density functional theory calculations reveal that more significant charge transfer occurs in Au_(28)-Alkynyl/NiFeLDHs catalyst,and more importantly,the energy barrier of the potential-determining step in the OER process for Au28-Alkynyl/NiFe-LDHs is much lower than that of Au28-Thiolate/NiFe-LDHs hence favors the electrocatalytic reaction.

The effect of vanadium carbide（VC） on the grain size of commercial pure aluminum was experimentally investigated by varying the content of VC, the holding time, and casting temperature. The refining efficiencies of VC and Al5Ti1 B were also compared. The refined samples of commercial pure aluminum were examined using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy（SEM） and energy-dispersive spectroscopy（EDS）. The results suggest that VC is a good refiner of commercial pure aluminum. The addition of only 0.3wt% VC can decrease the grain size of aluminum to 102 μm, whereas the casting temperature and holding time have little effect on the grain size. The refining efficiency of VC is better than that of Al5Ti1 B. The VC particles in molten aluminum act as nuclei and the grain refinement of aluminum alloys by VC particles is achieved via heterogeneous nucleation.

Effects of hot compression deformation temperature on the microstructure and properties of Al–Zr–La alloys

The main goal of this study is to investigate the microstructure and electrical properties of Al–Zr–La alloys under different hot compression deformation temperatures. In particular, a Gleeble 3500 thermal simulator was used to carry out multi-pass hot compression tests. For five-pass hot compression deformation, the last-pass deformation temperatures were 240, 260, 300, 340, 380, and 420°C, respectively, where the first-pass deformation temperature was 460°C. The experimental results indicated that increasing the hot compression deformation temperature with each pass resulted in improved electrical conductivity of the alloy. Consequently, the flow stress was reduced after deformation of the samples subjected to the same number of passes. In addition, the dislocation density gradually decreased and the grain size increased after hot compression deformation. Furthermore, the dynamic recrystallization behavior was effectively suppressed during the hot compression process because spherical Al;Zr precipitates pinned the dislocation movement effectively and prevented grain boundary sliding.

High-throughput assays play an important role in the fields of drug discovery,genetic analysis,and clinical diagnostics.Although super-capacity coding strategies may facilitate labeling and detecting large numbers of targets in a single assay,practically,the constructed large-capacity codes have to be decoded with complicated procedures or are lack of survivability under the required reaction conditions.This challenge results in either inaccurate or insufficient decoding outputs.Here,we identified chemical-resistant Raman compounds to build a combinatorial coding system for the high-throughput screening of cell-targeting ligands from a focused 8-mer cyclic peptide library.The accurate in situ decoding results proved the signal,synthetic,and functional orthogonality for this Raman coding strategy.The orthogonal Raman codes allowed for a rapid identification of 63 positive hits at one time,evidencing a high-throughput-out capability in the screening process.We anticipate this orthogonal Raman coding strategy being generalized to enable efficient high-throughput-out screening of more useful ligands for cell targeting and drug discovery.

BACKGROUND A growing number of clinical examples suggest that coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)appears to have an impact on the treatment of patients with liver cancer compared to the normal population,and the prevalence of COVID-19 is significantly higher in patients with liver cancer.However,this mechanism of action has not been clarified.Gene sets for COVID-19(GSE180226)and liver cancer(GSE87630)were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.After identifying the common differentially expressed genes(DEGs)of COVID-19 and liver cancer,functional enrichment analysis,protein-protein interaction network construction and scree-ning and analysis of hub genes were performed.Subsequently,the validation of the differential expression of hub genes in the disease was performed and the regulatory network of transcription factors and hub genes was constructed.RESULTS Of 518 common DEGs were obtained by screening for functional analysis.Fifteen hub genes including aurora kinase B,cyclin B2,cell division cycle 20,cell division cycle associated 8,nucleolar and spindle associated protein 1,etc.,were further identified from DEGs using the“cytoHubba”plugin.Functional enrichment analysis of hub genes showed that these hub genes are associated with P53 signalling pathway regulation,cell cycle and other functions,and they may serve as potential molecular markers for COVID-19 and liver cancer.Finally,we selected 10 of the hub genes for in vitro expression validation in liver cancer cells.CONCLUSION Our study reveals a common pathogenesis of liver cancer and COVID-19.These common pathways and key genes may provide new ideas for further mechanistic studies.

The extended kernel ridge regression(EKRR)method with odd-even effects was adopted to improve the description of the nuclear charge radius using five commonly used nuclear models.These are:(i)the isospin-dependent A^(1∕3) formula,(ii)relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,(iii)Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov(HFB)model HFB25,(iv)the Weizsacker-Skyrme(WS)model WS*,and(v)HFB25*model.In the last two models,the charge radii were calculated using a five-parameter formula with the nuclear shell corrections and deformations obtained from the WS and HFB25 models,respectively.For each model,the resultant root-mean-square deviation for the 1014 nuclei with proton number Z≥8 can be significantly reduced to 0.009-0.013 fm after considering the modification with the EKRR method.The best among them was the RCHB model,with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.0092 fm.The extrapolation abilities of the KRR and EKRR methods for the neutron-rich region were examined,and it was found that after considering the odd-even effects,the extrapolation power was improved compared with that of the original KRR method.The strong odd-even staggering of nuclear charge radii of Ca and Cu isotopes and the abrupt kinks across the neutron N=126 and 82 shell closures were also calculated and could be reproduced quite well by calculations using the EKRR method.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC),a highly invasive and metastatic cancer,is widely prevalent in South China,Southeast Asia,and North Africa.NPC patients with stages I and II are often asymptomatic.Therefore,NPC patients are usually diagnosed with advanced-stage(stages III and IV)at their first visit.Detection of NPC at early stage is the key to improve the survival of patients.Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)plays an essential role in NPC occurrence in endemic areas.EBV-based biomarkers,including EBV antibody in serum and EBV DNA in plasma,have been specifically proposed for NPC early detection.Herein,we summarize recent advances in biomarkers for the early detection of NPC.
