A Topic Detection Method Based on Word-attention Networks

Purpose:We proposed a method to represent scientific papers by a complex network,which combines the approaches of neural and complex networks.Design/methodology/approach:Its novelty is representing a paper by a word branch,which carries the sequential structure of words in sentences.The branches are generated by the attention mechanism in deep learning models.We connected those branches at the positions of their common words to generate networks,called word-attention networks,and then detect their communities,defined as topics.Findings:Those detected topics can carry the sequential structure of words in sentences,represent the intra-and inter-sentential dependencies among words,and reveal the roles of words playing in them by network indexes.Research limitations:The parameter setting of our method may depend on practical data.Thus it needs human experience to find proper settings.Practical implications:Our method is applied to the papers of the PNAS,where the discipline designations provided by authors are used as the golden labels of papers’topics.Originality/value:This empirical study shows that the proposed method outperforms the Latent Dirichlet Allocation and is more stable.

Research purpose:This study implemented somatosensory music therapy on patients with depressive disorders,and explored the effects of somatosensory music therapy on the degree of depression,positive and negative emotions,intuitive stress and autonomic nervous function of patients.Research method:We collected 66 patients diagnosed with depression from the Department of Psychological Medicine of Henan Provincial People’s Hospital,and divided them into a control group and an intervention group according to the random number table,with 33 people in each group.The control group received routine psychiatric treatment and nursing.On the basis of the control group,the intervention group received somatosensory music therapy 3 times a week,30 min each time,for 4 consecutive weeks.The Hamilton Depression Scale,Positive and Negative Emotion Scale,Perceived Stress Scale,and Heart Rate Variability Index were collected and analyzed at baseline(T0),2 weeks after treatment(T1)and 4 weeks after treatment(T2).Research results:After 4 weeks of treatment,the HAMD scores of the two groups decreased to varying degrees,and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the scores of positive emotions in both groups increased to varying degrees,and the scores of negative emotions increased to varying degrees.The scores decreased to varying degrees,and there were statistically significant differences between the positive and negative emotion groups(p<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the CPSS scores of the two groups decreased to varying degrees,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).Analyzing the main effect of intervention factors alone,after 4 weeks of treatment,SDNN and RMSSD indexes all increased to varying degrees,and the degree of increase in the intervention group was greater than that in the control group,and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).Research conclusion:assisting somatosensory music therapy fo

Converting solar energy by to other forms of energy has attracted a lot of interest from academy to industry.However,the overall utilization efficiency of solar energy is inferior due to the limited effective solar spectrum range.Here,in order to utilize the broadband solar spectrum more efficiently,a novel hybrid absorber structure was proposed,which consists of a four-layer planar nanofilm with dual functions of heat absorption and photocatalysis.The average absorption in the visible range is larger than 0.95,and in the near-infrared spectral region,the average absorption is still larger than 0.85.The overall absorption of the absorber is over 0.86,while the thermal emittance is lower than 0.04,which can lead to remarkable thermal utilization efficiency.Moreover,the full range of the solar irradiance can be utilized by incorporating the photocatalytic TiO_(2) layer into the absorber,which is active in the ultraviolet spectral range.In addition to the broadband spectral usage,the virtues of inexpensiveness and environmental friendliness make it a facile alternative to be applied in solar energy transformation.

As a new type of carbon-based fluorescent nanomaterials, carbon dots(CDs) are provided with the advantages of small size, excellent photoluminescence(PL) property, easy surface modification, robust stability,good water solubility and biocompatibility, which endow them with great potential in sensing. In this review, we first describe the preparation of CDs from different starting materials via various techniques, and pre-/post-modification strategies to modulate their PL properties. Second, we outline the optical properties of CDs, including UV-vis absorption and PL, especially the PL mechanisms of CDs are presented in detail from the size effect, molecular state, surface state and defect state. Third, we summarize the research progress of CDs in sensing environmental pollutants, bioactive substances, biological microenvironments,bacteria and viruses via different mechanisms. In addition, we envision the future development trends and prospects for CDs-based nanosensors. We believe that this type of small nanoparticles will bring about big prospect in the near future.

Multiple signaling pathways are involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation in odontogenesis and dental tissue renewal,but the details of these mechanisms remain unknown.Here,we investigated the expression patterns of a transcription factor,Krüppel-like factor 6(KLF6),during the development of murine tooth germ and its function in odontoblastic differentiation.KLF6 was almost ubiquitously expressed in odontoblasts at various stages,and it was co-expressed with P21(to varying degrees)in mouse dental germ.To determine the function of Klf6,overexpression and knockdown experiments were performed in a mouse dental papilla cell line(iMDP-3).Klf6 functioned as a promoter of odontoblastic differentiation and inhibited the proliferation and cell cycle progression of i MDP-3 through p21 upregulation.Dual-luciferase reporter assay and chromatin immunoprecipitation showed that Klf6 directly activates p21 transcription.Additionally,the in vivo study showed that KLF6 and P21were also co-expressed in odontoblasts around the reparative dentin.In conclusion,Klf6 regulates the transcriptional activity of p21,thus promoting the cell proliferation to odontoblastic differentiation transition in vitro.This study provides a theoretical basis for odontoblast differentiation and the formation of reparative dentine regeneration.

Alongside the rapid development of flexible and wearable electronics,the search for reliable,safe,and high-energy rechargeable flexible batteries(FBs)has become a research hotspot in recent years.Although there are some prototype FBs exhibited by the industry and a rapidly increasing number of publications reported by academia,most demonstrations are shown on a laboratory scale,and it is still difficult to find real implementation of the technology in the market.This perspective aims to discuss and analyze the key metrics,including energy density,flexibility,and safety,that are critical to pushing FBs to a commercially viable level,with a special focus on the lithium batteries and zinc batteries most reported in the literature.We first compare the figure of merit of FBs(fbFOM)of existing lithium-based and zinc-based FBs with the requirement for market applications.We then analyze the most desired cell configurations toward high flexibility,followed by systematic discussions on features and materials selection toward high energy density FBs.Third,we discuss strategies to enhance battery safety.An outlook of the future developments needed to address the gaps between the state-of-the-art demonstrations and real applications is provided at the end of this article.

Multi-axial perfectly matched layer(M-PML),known to have lost the perfect-matching property owing to multi-axial coordinate stretching,has been numerically validated to be long-time stable and it is thus used extensively in linear anisotropic wave simulation and in isotropic cases where the PML becomes unstable.We are concerned with the construction of the M-PML for anisotropic wave simulation based on a second order wave equation implemented with the displacement-based numerical method.We address the benefit of the incorrect chain rule,which is implicitly adopted in the previous derivation of the M-PML.We show that using the frequency-shifted stretching function improves the absorbing efficiency of the M-PML for near-grazing incident waves.Then,through multi-axial complex-coordinate stretching the second order anisotropic wave equation in a weak form,we derive a time-domain multi-axial unsplit frequency-shifted PML(M-UFSPML)using the frequency-shifted stretching function and the incorrect chain rule.A new approach is provided to reduce the number of memory variables needed for computing convolution terms in the M-UFSPML.The obtained M-UFSPML is well suited for implementation with a finite element or the spectral element method.By providing several typical examples,we numerically verify the accuracy and long-time stability of the implementation of our M-UFSPML by utilizing the Legendre spectral element method.

Characterization of size-resolved effective density of atmospheric particles in an urban atmosphere in Southern China

Effective density(ρ_(eff))is one of the most important physical properties of atmospheric particles,providing important references in exploring the emissions and aging processes of fresh particles.In this study,a combined system of differential mobility analyzer,centrifugal particle mass analyzer,and condensation particle counter was used to periodically measure theρ_(eff)of atmospheric particles in Shenzhen from Oct.2021 to Jan.2022.Results showed that theρ_(eff)of particles with various size presented a bimodal distribution,which could be divided into main density(ρ_(m),main peak,corresponding to relatively dense particles after aging)and sub density(ρ_(s),sub peak,corresponding to fresh particles).The occurrence frequencies ofρ_(s)of particles with diameters of 50 and 80 nm were less than 20%,but were as high as about 40%of that with diameters from 120 to 350 nm.Theρ_(m)showed increasing trend with the size of particles,whileρ_(s)decreased as the increasing of the size of particles.Theρ_(eff)on pollution day varied significantly with chemical compositions.The increasing of the proportion of sulfate could promote the increasing ofρ_(eff),while black carbon and organic matter caused opposite effects,which may be related to various factors,including the difference of the material density and morphology of various chemical components.Theρ_(eff)of 50,80 and 120 nm particles decreased considerably during the new particle formation event,indicating that organic condensation was an important contributor to new particle growth.
