Mineralogical properties and co-sintering characteristics of fluxed iron ore with magnetite concentrates

To investigate the feasibility of co-sintering of fluxed iron ore with magnetite concentrates, the mineralogical properties of a novel fluxed iron ore were studied using particle size analysis, microscopic morphology characterization, and X-ray diffraction Rietveld analysis. Following that, the experiments for granulation performance and basic sintering characteristics were designed under seven different fluxed iron ore ratios, and the integrated ranking of different fluxed iron ore ratios was determined using gray relation analysis. Finally, the results of the industrial trails were combined with the feasibility analysis. Test and experimental results show that the fraction of the fluxed iron ore particles larger than 0.5 mm can account for more than 48%, and the particles have two morphologies: spherical-rough and flaky-smooth. Ca elements are found in the form of calcite (CaCO3) and dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2). The average particle size of granules and powder removal rate can be improved from 2.50 to 3.16 mm and 39.60% to 24.20%, respectively, with the increase in the fluxed iron ore ratio. Furthermore, the fluxed iron ore can improve assimilability and liquid fluidity of magnetite concentrates. In terms of overall granulation performance and sintering characteristics, the fluxed iron ore ratios are graded from best to worst as follows: 12%, 15%, 9%, 18%, 21%, 6% and 3%. The industrial trails show that when the fluxed iron ore ratio is increased, the beneficial effect of the superior sintering characteristics of the fluxed iron ore itself is ideally balanced with the negative effect of the lower amount of additional CaO at 12% ratio, and thus, it is feasible to bring the fluxed iron ore into production at a level of roughly 12%.

Learning layout generation for virtual worlds

The emergence of the metaverse has ledto the rapidly increasing demand for the generation ofextensive 3D worlds. We consider that an engagingworld is built upon a rational layout of multiple landuse areas (e.g., forest, meadow, and farmland). Tothis end, we propose a generative model of landuse distribution that learns from geographic *** model is based on a transformer architecturethat generates a 2D map of the land-use layout,which can be conditioned on spatial and semanticcontrols, depending on whether either one or bothare provided. This model enables diverse layoutgeneration with user control and layout expansion byextending borders with partial inputs. To generatehigh-quality and satisfactory layouts, we devise ageometric objective function that supervises the modelto perceive layout shapes and regularize generationsusing geometric priors. Additionally, we devise aplanning objective function that supervises the modelto perceive progressive composition demands andsuppress generations deviating from controls. Toevaluate the spatial distribution of the generations, wetrain an autoencoder to embed land-use layouts intovectors to enable comparison between the real andgenerated data using the Wasserstein metric, which isinspired by the Fr´echet inception distance.

Isotopic dependence of the yield ratios of light fragments from different projectiles and their unified neutron skin thicknesses

The yield ratios of neutron-proton(R(n/p))and^(3)H-^(3)He(R(^(3)H∕^(3)He))with reduced rapidity from 0 to 0.5 were simulated at 50 MeV/u even-even ^(36−56)Ca+^(40)Ca,even-even ^(48−78)Ni+^(58)Ni,and ^(100−139)Sn(every third isotopes)+112 Sn for full reduced impact parameters using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics(IQMD)*** neutron and proton density distributions and root-mean-square radii of the reaction systems were obtained using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model,which was used for the phase space initialization of the projectile and target in *** defined the unified neutron skin thickness asΔRnp=^(1∕2) n−^(1∕2)p,which was negative for neutron-deficient *** unifiedΔRnp values for nuclei with the same relative neutron excess from different isotopic chains were nearly equal,except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,which is a type of scaling *** yield ratios of the three isotopic chain-induced reactions,which depended on the reduced impact parameter and unified neutron skin thickness,were *** results showed that both R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)decreased with a reduced impact parameter for extreme neutron-deficient isotopes;however,they increased with reduced impact parameters for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,and increased with theΔRnp of the projectiles for all reduced impact *** addition,a scaling phenomenon was observed betweenΔR np and the yield ratios in peripheral colli-sions from different isotopic chain projectiles(except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes).Thus,R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)from peripheral collisions were suggested as experimental probes for extracting the neutron or proton skin thicknesses of non-extreme neutron-rich nuclei from different isotopic chains.

Effects of Pretreatment by the Flavanol Ampelopsin on Porcine Kidney Epithelial Cell Injury Induced by Hydrogen Peroxide

This study investigated the protective effects of ampelopsin on H2O2-induced oxidative injury in porcine kidney epithelial cell line, PK-15; cells were pretreated with medium containing 0, 15, 30, and 60 ug mL-1 ampelopsin, respectively, for 1 h prior to the addition of 100 umol L-1 H2O2. After 2 h, the cell viability, intracellular superoxide dismutase （SOD） and glutathione peroxidase （GSH-Px） activity, cellular malondialdehyde （MDA） content, and DNA strand breakage were determined. Results showed that ampelopsin pretreatment did not modify the SOD and GSH-Px inactivation but significantly decreased MDA production; except for the medium dose （30 ug mL-1）, all the tested concentrations of ampelopsin did not significantly inhibit cell viability reduction and gave no influence on DNA damage. The results suggested that all the tested doses of ampelopsin pretreatment before H2O2 addition can protect PK-15 cell from H2O2-induced lipid peroxidation, which might not be mediated by the SOD and GSH-Px responsees. The appropriate dose of ampelopsin pretreatment prevents PK-15 cell from DNA damage and cell viability reduction.

Thoracoabdominal duplication with hematochezia as an onset symptom in a baby:A case report

BACKGROUND Alimentary tract duplication is a rare congenital disease that may occur in any part of the alimentary tract,whereas thoracoabdominal duplications only account for approximately 2%of all alimentary tract duplication *** symptoms,including abdominal pain,abdominal distension,vomiting,gastrointestinal bleeding,chest discomfort,chest pain,and shortness of breath,may be present in patients with abdominal or thoracic *** SUMMARY A 10-mo-old infant,with a free previous medical history,was admitted to our hospital with melena three times in 6 *** magnetic resonance imaging of the thoracic vertebrae revealed multiple cervicothoracic vertebral deformities,spina bifida,meningomyelocele towards the posterior mediastinum,and possible concurrent *** gastroenterography indicated intestinal malrotation.A laparoscopic abdominal examination was performed,and the operation was intraoperatively converted to *** case was diagnosed intraoperatively as thoracoabdominal intestinal *** intestinal duplications in the abdomen and large part of the thorax were *** results of postoperative pathological examination confirmed that this case was alimentary tract duplication and that part of the duplication contained gastric *** infant recovered well and was discharged 1 wk after the surgery.A follow-up computed tomography scan 3 mo after operation showed myelomeningocele while the posterior mediastinal cyst was significantly *** Thoracoabdominal duplication should be considered if a child has suspected abdominal intestinal duplication with hematochezia as an onset symptom.

Pregnancy and the disease recurrence of patients previously treated for differentiated thyroid cancer:A systematic review and meta analysis

Pretreatment of the carrier for supported catalysts can effectively improve the strong metal-support interaction(SMSI)and increase the dispersion of precious metals,which are critical to many important catalytic *** this work,we tuned SMSI on Pd/TiO_(2)catalysts through inducing surface defects of TiO_(2)by pretreated with different atmospheres(H_(2)/N_(2),N_(2),O_(2)/N_(2))at the high temperature(800℃).Multiple characterization results illustrated that surface defects anchored Pd species and thus enhanced their *** reduction,Ti^(3+)species formed and transferred onto the metallic Pd species and then induced SMSI,which effectively stabilize Pd species in the metallic *** stronger MSI,the more stability of Pd *** a case,Pd/TiO_(2)–800H_(2),with strongest MSI,displayed the best HCHO oxidation performance at low temperature(10℃).

Hydrogen sulfide attenuates gastric mucosal injury induced by restraint water-immersion stress via activation of KATPchannel and NF-κB dependent pathway

AIM To explore the effect of hydrogen sulfide(H2S)on restraint water-immersion stress(RWIS)-induced gastric lesions in rats and the influence of adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-sensitive potassium(KATP)channels and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells(NF-κB)pathway on such an *** Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into a control group,a physiological saline(PS)group,a sodium hydrosulfide(Na HS)group,a glibenclamide(Gl)group,Gl plus Na HS group,a pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(PDTC)group,and a PDTC plus Na HS *** mucosal injury was induced by RWIS for 3 h in rats,and gastric mucosal damage was analyzed after *** PS,Na HS(100μmol/kg body weight),Gl(100μmol/kg body weight),Gl(100μmol/kg or 150μmol/kg body weight)plus Na HS(100μmol/kg body weight),PDTC(100μmol/kg body weight),and PDTC(100μmol/kg body weight)plus Na HS(100μmol/kg bodyweight)were respectively injected intravenously before *** RWIS induced serious gastric lesions in the rats in the PS pretreatment *** pretreatment of Na HS(a H2S donor)significantly reduced the damage induced by *** gastric protective effect of the Na HS during RWIS was attenuated by PDTC,an NF-κB inhibitor,and also by glibenclamide,an ATP-sensitive potassium channel blocker,in a dose-dependent *** These results suggest that exogenous H2S plays a protective role against RWIS injury in rats,possibly through modulation of KATP channel opening and the NF-κB dependent pathway.
