The exploration of exotic shapes and properties of atomic nuclei,e.g.,αcluster and toroidal shape,is a fascinating field in nuclear *** study the decay of these nuclei,a novel detector aimed at detecting multipleα-particle events was designed and *** detector comprises two layers of double-sided silicon strip detectors(DSSD)and a cesium iodide scintillator array coupled with silicon photomultipliers array as light sensors,which has the advantages of their small size,fast response,and large dynamic *** coupled with cesium iodide crystal arrays are used to distinguish multipleα*** detector array has a compact and integrated design that can be adapted to different experimental *** detector array was simulated using Geant4,and the excitation energy spectra of someα-clustering nuclei were reconstructed to demonstrate the *** simulation results show that the detector array has excellent angular and energy resolutions,enabling effective reconstruction of the nuclear excited state by multipleαparticle *** detector offers a new and powerful tool for nuclear physics experiments and has the potential to discover interesting physical phenomena related to exotic nuclear structures and their decay mechanisms.

In recent years,the gap between the supply and demand of medical radioisotopes has increased,necessitating new methods for producing medical *** reactions based on gamma sources have unique advantages in terms of producing high specific activity and innovative medical ***,the lack of experimental data on reaction cross sections for photonuclear reactions of medical radioisotopes of interest has severely limited the development and production of photonuclear transmutation medical *** this study,the entire process of the generation,decay,and measurement of medical radioisotopes was simulated using online gamma activation and offline gamma measurements combined with a shielding gamma-ray *** on a quasi-monochromatic gamma beam from the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source(SLEGS),the feasibility of this measurement of production cross section for surveyed medi-cal radioisotopes was simulated,and specific solutions for measuring medical radioisotopes with ultra-low production cross sections were *** feasibility of this method for high-precision measurements of the reaction cross section of medical radioisotopes was demonstrated.

The tacticity of vinyl polymers is a key factor affecting the properties of ***,organic Brønsted acids have been demonstrated as effective catalysts for the development of highly stereoselective cationic reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)polymerizations of vinyl ethers,in which the use of RAFT agents could allow the control the molecular weight and tacticity of polymer products ***,the effect of RAFT agents on the tacticity-regulation remains elusive and lacks of *** this study,we synthesized four types of RAFT agents and evaluated their influence in the stereoselective cationic polymerization of isobutyl vinyl ether in the presence of PADI as a Brønsted acid catalyst,which unveils that the Z group of RAFT agents could not only affect the polydispersity of the products,but also exert a profound effect on the *** extensive screening of the RAFT agents,high stereoregularity(isotacticity,90%m)was obtained when using dithiocarbonate ester-type RAFT agents with a benzyloxy Z group.

Theoretical probe into universal tetrad effect for complexation discrepancy between lanthanide elements and organophosphoric extractant diethyl phosphoric acid

The deep understanding of 4f-correlated electron motion behavior is experimentally limited due to similar physicochemical properties of rare earth elements(REEs).While the solvent extraction behavior originating from the continuous occupation of 4f electrons along the lanthanide family provides a particular platform to probe the 4f electrons motion behavior and its correlations to their versatile ***,the complexation between REEs and the prototypical extractant of diethyl phosphoric acid(DEP)was substantially studied based on quantum mechanical *** results firstly show that the average bond lengths between Ln and six coordinated oxygen atoms are consistent with lanthanide contraction phenomenon,and gadolinium break effect is also obviously ***,the"tetrad effect"is figured out based on the subtle discrepancy of 4f electrons occupation,namely La-Nd,Sm-Eu,Gd-Dy and ***,the main composition is 4f5d6p for La-Nd,while the discrepancy is due to the increasing electrons in the 5d shell,while it is 4f5d for *** Gd-Dy,their 4f orbitals accept little electrons and the donating electrons flow into 6s5d subshells due to the half-filled stability and the enhancement of shielding *** electrons donate into 5d6p subshells due to multiply electrons occupation of 4f orbitals for *** detailed analyses obviously clarify the"tetrad effect"along the lanthanide family due to the different variation of 4f orbital *** is expected that these microscopic understandings provide important guidance for the separation of REEs and the design of new extractants.

Reductive soil disinfestation(RSD)is an important tool for sustainable agricultural ***,the differences in soil bacterial communities and their community assembly processes among RSD and other treatment strategies(e.g.,biochar and chemical fumigation)are still subject to open *** this study,soils subjected to various treatments–un-treated control(CK),chemical soil fumigation with CaCN2(CF),1%biochar(1%B),3%biochar(3%B),and reductive soil disinfestation(RSD)are *** samples were collected,incubated,and then used for growth of tomato *** Sloan neutral community model indicates that stochastic processes dominate in bacterial community assembly for both biochar and CF *** contrast,this work shows that RSD treatment can have a strong impact on soil bacterial community *** relative abundance of Firmicutes increased during unplanted soil incubation,whereas Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes dominated in the rhizosphere after planting of *** stochasticity ratio reveals that deterministic selection played an important role in the bacterial assembly under RSD *** found that RSD amendment yielded lower biomass than that for other treatments after 28 days of tomato *** results suggest that although RSD treatment has great potential to rebuild soil bacterial ecology by shaping bacterial communities and their assembly processes,it is important to monitor and manage soil conditions(e.g.,soil nutrients or physical properties)before planting to ensure plant productivity.

Mitochondria,with their intricate networks of functions and information processing,are pivotal in both health regulation and disease ***,mitochondrial dysfunctions are identified in many common pathologies,including cardiovascular diseases,neurodegeneration,metabolic syndrome,and ***,the multifaceted nature and elusive phenotypic threshold of mitochondrial dysfunction complicate our understanding of their contributions to ***,these complexities do not prevent mitochondria from being among the most important therapeutic *** recent years,strategies targeting mitochondrial dysfunction have continuously emerged and transitioned to clinical *** intervention such as using healthy mitochondria to replenish or replace damaged mitochondria,has shown promise in preclinical trials of various *** components,including mtDNA,mitochondria-located microRNA,and associated proteins can be potential therapeutic agents to augment mitochondrial function in immunometabolic diseases and tissue ***,we review current knowledge of mitochondrial pathophysiology in concrete examples of common *** also summarize current strategies to treat mitochondrial dysfunction from the perspective of dietary supplements and targeted therapies,as well as the clinical translational situation of related pharmacology ***,this review discusses the innovations and potential applications of mitochondrial transplantation as an advanced and promising treatment.

Heat shock transcription factors(Hsfs)have important roles during plant growth and development and responses to abiotic *** identification and func-tion of Hsf genes have been thoroughly studied in various herbaceous plant species,but not woody species,especially Phoebe bournei,an endangered,unique species in *** this study,17 members of the Hsf gene family were identi-fied from *** using bioinformatic ***-netic analysis indicated that PbHsf genes were grouped into three subfamilies:A,B,and *** motifs,three-dimensional structure,and physicochemical properties of the PbHsf proteins were also *** structure of the PbHsf genes varied in the number of exons and ***-diction of cis-acting elements in the promoter region indi-cated that PbHsf genes are likely involved in responses to plant hormones and stresses.A collinearity analysis dem-onstrated that expansions of the PbHsf gene family mainly take place via segmental *** expression levels of PbHsf genes varied across different plant *** the basis of the expression profiles of five representative PbHsf genes during heat,cold,salt,and drought stress,PbHsf pro-teins seem to have multiple functions depending on the type of abiotic *** systematic,genome-wide investigation of PbHsf genes in *** and their expression patterns provides valuable insights and information for further func-tional dissection of Hsf proteins in this endangered,unique species.

A novel nano-grade organosilicon polymer:Improving airtightness of compressed air energy storage in hard rock formations

Enhancing cavern sealing is crucial for improving the efficiency of compressed air energy storage(CAES)in hard rock *** study introduced a novel approach using a nano-grade organosilicon polymer(NOSP)as a sealant,coupled with an air seepage evaluation model that incorporates Knudsen ***,the initial coating application methods were outlined,and the advantages of using NOSP compared to other sealing materials,particularly regarding cost and construction techniques,were also examined and *** results indicated a significant reduction in permeability of rock specimens coated with a 7–10μm thick NOSP ***,under a 0.5 MPa pulse pressure,the permeability decreased to less than 1 n D,and under a 4 MPa pulse pressure,it ranged between4.5×10^(-6)–5.5×10^(-6)m D,marking a 75%–80%decrease in granite *** sealing efficacy of NOSP surpasses concrete and is comparable to rubber *** optimal viscosity for application lies between 95 and 105 KU,and the coating thickness should ideally range from 7 to 10μm,applied to substrates with less than 3%*** study provides new insights into air transport and sealing mechanisms at the pore level,proposing NOSP as a cost-effective and simplified solution for CAES applications.

π-conjugated chromophore functionalized high-nuclearity titanium-oxo clusters containing structural unit of anatase for photocatalytic selective oxidation of sulfides

N-doping has significant influence in manipulating the properties of TiO_(2),and this has stimulated the development of N-donor-functionalized titanium-oxo clusters(TOCs)as molecular models to study the structure-property ***,the structural type and photoresponsive application are still limited for such TOCs,especially regarding the high-nuclearity TOCs that contain structure unit of TiO_(2)for ***,we showed the synthesis of a series of high-nuclearity TOCs 1-3 compounds usingπ-conjugated 1,10-phenanthroline(phen)as chromophore and N-donor functional *** 1 features cocrystal structure composed of one[Ti_(26)]~(2+)and half[Ti_(22)]~(2+),which renders it as the first cocrystallized TOC containing two positively charged species and phen-functionalized TOC showing the highest nuclearity up to 37 Ti *** adjusting the synthetic conditions,the individual{Ti_(22)}and{Ti_(26)}clusters can also be isolated as Compounds 2 and 3,*** core structure of{Ti_(22)}is mainly constructed from four lacunary{Ti_(4)}derived from pentagonal{Ti(Ti)_5}unit,while{Ti_(26)}is built from four complete{Ti(Ti)_5}***,a{Ti_8O_(14)}structure unit of anatase TiO_(2)can be identified in{Ti_(26)}.Based on the unique structural features and proper photophysical and photochemical properties of Compounds 1-3,they are applied for photocatalytic *** to the presence of anatase structure unit in{Ti_(26)}and the synergistic effect from{Ti_(22)}and{Ti_(26)},the catalytic performance presents in the order of Compound 1>Compound 3>Compound *** work provides excellent models to understand the structureproperty relationship from the perspective of cocrystallization and Ti-O binding model and will further promote the application of TOCs as functional catalysts for organic transformation.
