Background Sterol regulatory element binding protein （SREBP）-2 plays a key role in lipid homeostasis by stimulating gene expression of cholesterol biosynthetic pathways. The insulin-like growth factor binding protein （IGFBP） family regulates growth and metabolism, especially bone cell metabolism, and correlates with osteonecrosis. However, association of their gene polymorphisms with risk of avascular necrosis of the femoral head （ANFH） has rarely been reported. We determined whether SREBP-2 and IGFBP-3 gene polymorphisms were associated with increased ANFH risk in the Chinese population. Methods Two single nucleotide polymorphisms of SREBP2 gene, rs2267439 and rs2267443, and one of IGFBP-3 gene, rs2453839, were selected and genotyped in 49 ANFH patients and 42 control individuals by direct sequencing assay. Results The frequencies of rs2267439 TT and rs2267443 GA of SREBP2 and rs2453839 TT and CT of IGFBP-3 in the ANFH group showed increased and decreased tendencies （against normal control group）, respectively. Interaction analysis of genes revealed that the frequency of carrying rs2267439 TT and rs2267443 GA genotypes of SREBF-2 in ANFH patients was significantly higher than in the control group （P 〈0.05）. Association analysis between polymorphisms and clinical phenotype demonstrated that the disease course in ANFH patients with the rs2453839 TT genotype of IGFBP-3 was significantly shorter than that of CT＋CC carriers （P 〈0.01）. CT＋CC genotype frequency in patients with stage Ill/IV bilateral hip lesions was significantly higher than in those with stage Ill/IV unilateral lesions and stage II/111 bilateral lesions （P 〈0.05-0.02）. Conclusions Our results suggested that interaction of SREBP-2 gene polymorphisms and the relationship between the polymorphisms and clinical phenotype of IGFBP-3 were closely related to increased ANFH risk in the Chinese population. High pressure solidification rules of Al-Mg alloy needs to be discussed further for its wide range of application. Microstructures and phases of Al-25wt% Mg alloy solidified at 4 GPa were studied by optical microscope,X-ray diffractmeter,energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy( TEM). The microstructure evolution mechanism of Al-25Mg alloy under high pressure was analyzed. The result shows that the alloy consists of α-Al phase and Al 3 Mg 2 phase under normal pressure. However,only Al 12 Mg 17 phase forms without Al 3 Mg 2 phase at 4 GPa. In addition,Mg concentration in α-Al phase increases and that of the lattice constant also increases. The α-Al dendrite presents the broken arms under normal pressure, after high pressure solidification,the morphology of the dendrite tends to integrate and the size of the dendrite arms

In order to amplify the complete genome of enJSRV from the strain of Inner Mongolia (enJSRV-NM), we used enJSRV-specific and JSRV-specific DNA probes in dot blot hybridization. Seven pairs of primers were designed based on Genbank sequences. Seven fragments were obtained by PCR and were cloned into the PMD19-T vectors. The recombinant plasmids were sequenced and analyzed. The results showed that the genome was 7 942 bp in length and contained four overlapping open reading frames corresponding to the gag, pro, pol and env genes as well as an additional open reading frame (orf-x) that overlaps the 3' end of the pol gene. The nucleotide acid sequences of the enJSRV-NM loci were compared with the sequences of South Africa enJS56A1 strain (Accession No. AF153615) and USA JSRV21 strain (Accession No. AF105220). The nucleotide acid identities were 99.2% and 92.3% respectively. Two zinc fingers were found in the NC region in the predicted amino acid sequence. However, the YXXM motif, which is a reliable molecular marker for the infectious exogenous virus, was not found in the TM region. It was found that the enJSRV-NM region was 90%-98% identical at the amino acid level to its exogenous infectious counterparts in most of the retroviral genome. This is the first nucleotide sequence of enJSRV reported in P.R China. The resource work has provided a wide range of information useful not only for expression genomics and annotation of genomic DNA sequence, but also for further research on the clinical diagnosis of OPA.

Using the first-principles method, we predict an orthorhombic boron–carbon binary structure with sp^ace group *** structure is verified to be dynamically and mechanically stable, and possesses a cavity of 27.5 ~2 that makes it a potential molecular sieve material. The C sp^2 and sp^3 hybridized bonding in Imm2 BC is an important factor for its structural stability. The energy band calculations reveal that Imm2 BC is a semiconductor with a band gap of 1.3 eV and has a promising application in the electro-optic field. The lattice thermal conductivity along the crystal [100] direction at room temperature is 186 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1), that is about 5 times higher than those along the [010] and [001] directions, which stems from the different group velocity along the crystal direction. Moreover, the acoustic-optical coupling is important for heat transp^ort in Imm2 BC, and the contribution of optical phonons to lattice thermal conductivity in the [100], [010], and [001]directions is 49%, 59%, and 61%, resp^ectively. This study gives a fundamental understanding of the structural, electronic,elastic, and heat transp^ort properties in Imm2 BC, further enriching the family of boron–carbon binary compounds.

Mg-8Zn-0.5Zr-0.5Gd alloy was prepared by high pressure solidification. Effect of high pressure on microstructure, micro-hardness and corrosion behavior in Hank＇s solution of the Mg-8Zn-0.5Zr-0.5Gd alloy were investigated by means of optical microscopy （OM）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy dispersive spectroscopy （EDS）, and X-ray diffractometer （XRD）. The results showed that, compared with the conventional solidification, high pressure solidification obviously refined the grain size of Mg-8Zn-0.5Zr-0.5Gd alloy. The grain size was refined from 200-300 pm to 100-200 pm and the secondary dendrite arm spacing reduced from 30- 50 pm to 10-30 pro. Moreover, the solubility of Zn in the alloy increased and the amount and size of Mg-Zn-Gd phases significantly decreased. The micro-hardness of the alloy solidified under high pressure was improved significantly from 56.17 HV to 63.14 HV. The polarization resistance （Rp） of the alloy had a substantial increase in simulated body fluid, thus the corrosion rate was significantly reduced from 4.0 to 2.7 ***-1.
