Subgenome asymmetry of gibberellins-related genes plays important roles in regulating rapid growth of bamboos

Rapid growth is an innovative trait of woody bamboos that has been widely ***,the genetic basis and evolution of this trait are poorly *** advantage of genomic resources of 11 representative bamboos at different ploidal levels,we integrated morphological,physiological,and transcriptomic datasets to investigate rapid *** particular,these bamboos include two large-sized and a small-sized woody species,compared with a diploid herbaceous *** results showed that gibberellin A1 was important for the rapid shoot growth of the world's largest bamboo,Dendrocalamus sinicus,and indicated that two gibberellins(GAs)-related genes,KAO and SLRL1,were key to the rapid shoot growth and culm size in woody *** expression of GAs-related genes exhibited significant subgenome asymmetry with subgenomes A and C demonstrating expression dominance in the large-sized woody bamboos while the generally submissive subgenomes B and D dominating in the small-sized *** subgenome asymmetry was found to be correlated with the subgenome-specific gene structure,particularly UTRs and core *** study provides novel insights into the molecular mechanism and evolution of rapid shoot growth following allopolyploidization in woody bamboos,particularly via subgenome *** findings are helpful for understanding of how polyploidization in general and subgenome asymmetry in particular contributed to the origin of innovative traits in plants.

Remarks on One-Dimensional Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations with Density-Dependent Viscosity and Vacuum

The Navier-Stokes system for one-dimensional compressible fluids with density-dependent viscosities when the initial density connects to vacuum continuously is considered in the present paper. When the viscosity coefficient u is proportional to pθ with 0 〈 θ 〈 1, the global existence and the uniqueness of weak solutions are proved which improves the previous results in [Vong, S. W., Yang, T., Zhu, C. J.： Compressible Navier-Stokes equations with degenerate viscosity coefficient and vacuum II. J. Differential Equations, 192（2）, 475-501 （2003）]. Here p is the density. Moreover, a stabilization rate estimate for the density as t → ＋∞ for any θ 〉 0 is also given.

Phylogenomic analyses reveal intractable evolutionary history of a temperate bamboo genus (Poaceae: Bambusoideae)

Shibataea is a genus of temperate bamboos(Poaceae:Bambusoideae)endemic to China,but little is known about its phylogenetic position and interspecific *** elucidate the phylogenetic relationship of the bamboo genus Shibataea,we performed genome-scale phylogenetic analysis of all seven species and one variety of the genus using double digest restriction-site associated DNA sequencing(dd RAD-seq)and whole plastid genomes generated using genome *** phylogenomic analyses based on dd RAD-seq and plastome data congruently recovered Shibataea as *** nuclear data resolved *** as the earliest diverged species,followed by ***,while the rest of Shibataea can be further divided into two ***,the plastid and nuclear topologies conflict *** comparing the results of network analysis and topologies reconstructed from different datasets,we identify *** as the most admixed species,which may be caused by incomplete lineage sorting(ILS)or interspecific gene flow with four sympatric *** study highlights the power of dd RAD and plastome data in resolving complex relationships in the intractable bamboo genus.

Global Weak Solutions to a Fluid-particle System of an Incompressible Non-Newtonian Fluid and the Vlasov Equation

The purpose of this work is to investigate the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to the initial-boundary value problem for a coupled system of an incompressible non-Newtonian fluid and the Vlasov *** coupling arises from the acceleration in the Vlasov equation and the drag force in the incompressible viscous non-Newtonian fluid with the stress tensor of a power-law structure for p≥11/*** main idea of the existence analysis is to reformulate the coupled system by means of a so-called truncation *** advantage of the new formulation is to control the external force term G=-∫Rd(u-v)fdc(d=2,3).The global existence of weak solutions to the reformulated system is shown by using the Faedo-Galerkin method and weak compactness *** further prove the uniqueness of weak solutions to the considered system.

Deep genome skimming reveals the hybrid origin of Pseudosasa gracilis (Poaceae: Bambusoideae)

Pseudosasa gracilis(Poaceae:Bambusoideae)is a temperate woody bamboo species endemic to Southcentral China with a narrow *** phylogenetic studies revealed an unexpected,isolated phylogenetic position of *** we conducted phylogenomic analysis by sampling populations of *** and its sympatric species *** and Sinosasa polytricha reflecting different genomic signals,by deep genome *** molecular evidence from chloroplast genes and genome-wide SNPs,we deciphered the phylogenetic relationships of *** plastid and nuclear data indicate that *** is more closely related to Sinosasa,which is discordant with the taxonomic *** further explore this molecular-morphological conflict,we screened 411“perfect-copy”syntenic genes to reconstruct phylogenies using both the concatenation and coalescent *** observed extensive discordance between gene trees and the putative species tree.A significant hybridization event was detected based on 411 genes from the D subgenome,showing *** was a hybrid descendant between Sinosasa longiligulata and ***,with 63.56%and 36.44%inheritance probabilities of each ***,introgression events were detected in the C subgenome between *** and *** in the same distribution *** findings suggest that sympatric hybridization and introgression play a crucial role in the origin of *** providing an empirical example of bamboo of hybrid origin using comprehensive analyses based on genomic data from different inheritance systems and morphological characters,our study represents a step forward in understanding of reticulate evolution of bamboos.

B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix composites has become one of the research hotspots in the field of materials science due to the“transformation-induced plasticity”phenomenon,which makes the composites show better macroscopic plastic deformability and obvious work-hardening behavior compared to the conventional amorphous alloy matrix composites reinforced with ductile ***,the in-situ metastable B2-CuZr phase tends to undergo eutectoid decomposition during solidification,and the volume fraction,size,and distribution of B2-CuZr phase are difficult to control,which limits the development and application of these *** date,much efforts have been made to solve the above problems through composition optimization,casting parameter tailoring,and post-processing *** this study,a review was given based on relevant studies,focusing on the predictive approach,reinforcing mechanism,and microstructure tailoring methods of B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix *** research focus and future prospects were also given for the future development of the present composite system.
