Effects of solid-state fermentation product of yeast supplementation on liver and intestinal health, and resistance of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) against spring viraemia carp virus

This study aimed to investigate the effects of solid-state fermentation products of yeast (SFPY) on liver and intestinal health and disease resistance of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). A total of 200 common carp with an initial average weight of 2.55 +/- 0.004 g were divided into 5 groups (4 replications per group and 10 fish per replication), and were fed with one of five diets, including a control diet and 4 diets supplemented with 2 parts per thousand (Y2), 3 parts per thousand (Y3), 4 parts per thousand (Y4), or 5 parts per thousand (Y5) SFPY, respectively, for 8 weeks. Results indicated that, the addition of SFPY to the diet of common carp did not affect the growth performance or survival rate of fish (P = 0.253). Interestingly, with the addition of SFPY, the triacylglycerol (TAG) content of the liver presented a linear decreasing tendency (P = 0.004), with significantly decreased in Y4 and Y5 groups (P = 0.035) compared with control. Serum lipopolysaccharide (LPS) content and diamine oxidase (DAO) activity presented a negative linear relationship with the addition of SFPY (P = 0.015, P = 0.030), while serum lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) content first decreased and then increased (P < 0.001). The total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) in the intestine of fish increased continuously with increasing SFPY supplementation (P = 0.026), reaching the highest level in Y5 group. The villus height in all experimental groups were significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.001). Furthermore, compared to the control, adding 3 parts per thousand SFPY to the control diet of common carp significantly increased the relative abundance of Fusobacteria (P = 0.018) and decreased that of Proteobacteria (P = 0.039) at phylum level, and increased the relative abundance of Cetobacterium (P= 0.018) and decreased that of Shewanella (P = 0.013) at genus level. Hot-extrusion and cold-rolling were conducted on Mg-Ce binary alloys to explore the effect of cerium(Ce)on microstructure,texture and mechanical properties of Mg *** addition of Ce results in significant grain refinement both in as-cast and hot-extruded *** basal texture is also weakened after extrusion and an inclined basal texture is formed with Ce *** strength and elongation of the Mg-Ce alloys are improved simultaneously due to such grain refinement and texture weakening *** cold-rolling,plenty of twins are found in the pure Mg and AZ31 plates while grains in the Mg-0.3Ce plate deform more uniformly without lamellar twin ***,Mg-0.3Ce alloys own strong and continuous strain hardening because Ce atoms and Mg-Ce precipitated phases serve as obstacles for dislocation slip.

Application of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and neoadjuvant chemotherapy in curative surgery for esophageal cancer:A metaanalysis

BACKGROUND The effectiveness of neoadjuvant therapy in esophageal cancer(EC)treatment is still a subject of *** To compare the clinical efficacy and toxic side effects between neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(nCRT)and neoadjuvant chemotherapy(nCT)for locally advanced EC(LAEC).METHODS A comprehensive search was conducted using multiple databases,including PubMed,EMBASE,MEDLINE,Science Direct,The Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database,and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database *** up to December 2022 comparing nCRT and nCT in patients with EC were *** The analysis revealed significant differences between nCRT and nCT in terms of disease-free *** results indicated that nCRT provided better outcomes in terms of the 3-year overall survival rate(OSR)[odds ratio(OR)=0.95],complete response rate(OR=3.15),and R0 clearance rate(CR)(OR=2.25).However,nCT demonstrated a better 5-year OSR(OR=1.02)than ***,when compared to nCRT,nCT showed reduced risks of cardiac complications(OR=1.15)and pulmonary complications(OR=1.30).CONCLUSION Overall,both nCRT and nCT were effective in terms of survival outcomes for ***,nCT exhibited better performance in terms of postoperative complications.

Oxygen vacancies enable modulating surface reconstruction of transition metal oxides containing metal-oxygen polyhedrons into metallic oxyhydroxide for oxygen evolution reaction(OER),while revealing reconstructing mechanism is stuck by the requirement to precisely control exact sites of these ***,oxygen vacancies are localized only within MoO_(4)tetrahedrons rather than CoO_(6)octahedrons in CoMoO_(4)catalyst,guaranteeing coherent reconstruction of CoO_(6)octahedrons into pure CoOOH with tunable activities for ***,distorted tetrahedron accelerates the dissolution of Mo atoms into alkaline electrolyte,triggering spontaneous transition of partial CoMoO_(4)into Co(OH)_(2).CoO_(6)octahedrons in both CoMoO_(4)and Co(OH)_(2)can transform pure CoOOH completely at lower potential,resulting in excess intrinsic activity whose summit is identified by overpotential at 10 mA cm^(-2)with 22.9%reduction and Tafel slope with 65.3%***-defined manipulation over the distorted polyhedrons offers one versatile knob to precisely modulate electronic structure of oxide catalysts with outstanding OER performance.

Vaccines are one of the most practical means to stop the spreading of Aeromonas veronii in *** this study,virulence factor aerolysin mutant NTaer which has lost its hemolytic activity was used as a target *** pastoris constitutive secretory expression NTaer(GS115-NTaer)was used as a potential safe oral vaccine to evaluate its effectiveness on zebrafish *** result shows that vaccination of GS115-NTaer for four weeks did not affect the growth performance of the host,while eliciting an effective immune protective *** with the control group,the GS115-NTaer could significantly up-regulate the relative expression level of the intestinal tight junction protein 1α(TJP1α)gene,and significantly increased the contents of lysozyme(LYZ),complement C3 and C4 in the gut,indicating that the innate immune response of the fish was *** relative gene expression levels of macrophage-expressed gene 1(MPEG1)and T cell receptor(TCR-α)in the gut,and MPEG1,CD4,CD8,TCR-α,GATA3,and T-bet in the spleen were all increased significantly,indicating that the cellular immune response of the fish was ***,the contents of serum IgM and intestinal mucosa IgZ antibodies were significantly increased,which showed that humoral immunity was also ***,inoculation with GS115-NTaer significantly changed the structure of gut *** particular,the relative ratio of(Firmicutes+Fusobacteriota+Bacteroidota)/Proteobacteria was significantly higher than that of the control and GS115 ***,the vaccinated fish were challenged with ***,and the relative percent survival of GS115 and the GS115-NTear groups was 14.28%and 33.43%.This improvement of immunity was not only due to the specific immune response but also attributed to the improvement of innate immunity and the gut microbiota which was demonstrated by the germ-free zebrafish ***,this study provides information on the effectiveness of GS115-NTear

Provenance of Upper Jurassic in North Yellow Sea Basin， Eastern North China Craton

Base on the detrital zircon U-Pb dating data， this paper discusses the provenance and constructs source-to-sink system of the Upper Jurassic in the North Yellow Sea Basin (NYSB)， Eastern North China Craton (ENCC). In addition， to avoid the bias of detrital zircon ages caused by variations in zircon fertility， we gather 1709 whole rock zirconium content values (ppm) from granitic rocks with different ages in the North China Craton (NCC). Base on mean Zr content of granitic rocks in each age， these granitic rocks can be divided into four groups: Group A consists of Jurassic， Group B consists of Paleozoic， Neo-Mesoproterozoic and Neoarchean， Group C consists of Early Cretaceous and Triassic， and Group D consists of Paleoproterozoic. This research assigns these groups zircon fertility factors (ZFF) of 1， 1.4， 1.8 and 2.2. The U-Pb age of detrital zircons from Late Jurassic sediments corrected by ZFF are statistically analyzed (K-S test， Similarity， Cross-correlation， Linkeness， Multidimensional scaling). And combining with palaeocurrent and palaeogeography， we construct two source-to-sink systems: 1) Jiaodong Uplift and Sulu Orogenic belt as the source area and the North Yellow Sea Basin as the sink area; 2) Liaodong Peninsula as the source area and the North Yellow Sea Basin as the sink area.

BACKGROUND Models for predicting hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)seroconversion in patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B(CHB)after nucleos(t)ide analog treatment are *** To establish a simple scoring model based on a response-guided therapy(RGT)strategy for predicting HBeAg seroconversion and hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)*** In this study,75 previously treated patients with HBeAg-positive CHB underwent a 52-week peginterferon-alfa(PEG-IFNα)treatment and a 24-wk *** regression analysis was used to assess parameters at baseline,week 12,and week 24 to predict HBeAg seroconversion at 24 wk *** two best predictors at each time point were used to establish a prediction model for PEG-IFNαtherapy *** at each time point that met the corresponding optimal cutoff thresholds were scored as 1 or *** The two most meaningful predictors were HBsAg≤1000 IU/mL and HBeAg≤3 S/CO at baseline,HBsAg≤600 IU/mL and HBeAg≤3 S/CO at week 12,and HBsAg≤300 IU/mL and HBeAg≤2 S/CO at week *** a total score of 0 vs 2 at baseline,week 12,and week 24,the response rates were 23.8%,15.2%,and 11.1%vs 81.8%,80.0%,and 82.4%,respectively,and the HBsAg clearance rates were 2.4%,3.0%,and 0.0%,vs 54.5%,40.0%,and 41.2%,*** We successfully established a predictive model and diagnosis-treatment process using the RGT strategy to predict HBeAg and HBsAg seroconversion in patients with HBeAg-positive CHB undergoing PEG-IFNαtherapy.

Effect of Brisk Walking on Self-Care Agency or Care Dependency among Colorectal Cancer Patients with Permanent Stoma

Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of brisk walking as an intervention for self-care agency and care dependency in patients with permanent colorectal cancer ***:This study adopted a quasi-experimental research design,specifically a non-equivalent control group pre-test and post-test *** the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA)and Care Dependency Scale(CDS),a survey was administered to 64 patients from a hospital in Shandong *** statistical methods used for analyzing data included frequency,mean,standard deviation(SD),independent t-test,P-value calculation,and dependent ***:After two months of a brisk walking exercise program,participants in the experimental group had a higher level of self-care agency than before the experiment(P<0.05),and their level of care dependency was significantly reduced(P<0.05).Participants in the control group also showed higher levels of self-care agency(P<0.05)and lower levels of care dependency(P<0.05)after two months compared to their levels before the two ***:The brisk walking program had a positive impact on patients’self-care agency and reduced their care dependency.
