The development of skeletal muscle is a crucial factor in determining the meat yield and economic benefits of broiler *** research has shown that mulberry leaves and their extracts can be used to significantly improve the growth performance of livestock and *** present study aims to elucidate the mechanisms involved in the regulation of skeletal muscle development in broiler offspring by dietary mulberry-leaf flavonoids(MLF)supplementation from the perspective of maternal effect theory.A total of 270 Qiling broiler breeder hens were randomly assigned to 3 treatments with different doses of MLF(0,30,60 mg/kg)for 8 weeks before collecting their fertilized *** chicken offspring at 13 and 19 d of embryonic stage,and from 1 to 28 d old after hatching were included in this *** results showed that maternal supplementation increased the breast muscle weight and body weight of the offspring at the embryo and chick stages(P<0.05).This was followed by increased cross-sectional area of pectoral muscle fibres at 14 d(P<0.05).Further determination revealed a tendency towards increased serum levels of insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)(P=0.092)and muscle fibre count(P=0.167)at 1 d post-hatching following maternal MLF treatment,while serum uric acid(UA)was decreased at 14 d after hatching(P<0.05).Moreover,maternal MLF supplementation significantly up-regulated the mRNA expression of the myogenic regulatory factor Myf5 in skeletal muscle at the both embryonic and growth stages(P<0.05).The relative abundance of the downstream protein of BMPR2,Smad1 and p-Smad1/5/9 in the TGFβsignalling pathway was significantly increased by maternal MLF ***,the increased expression of the target protein p-mTOR in the breast muscle of the offspring chicks is in accordance with the improved growth rate of the breast and the *** conclusion,maternal MLF supplementation can promote muscle protein metabolism and muscle fibre development of chick embryos

The in-ice or in-water Cherenkov neutrino telescope,such as IceCube,has already proved its power in measuring the Glashow resonance by searching for the bump around E_(ν)=6.3PeV arising from the W-boson *** are many proposals for the next few decades for observations of cosmic tau neutrinos with extensive air showers,also known as tau neutrino *** air shower telescope is,in principle,sensitive to the Glashow resonance via the channel W→τν_(τ)followed by the tau decay in the air(e.g.,TAMBO,which has a geometric area of approximately 500km^(2)).Using a thorough numerical analysis,we find that the discovery significance can be up to 90%with a TAMBO-like setup if PeV neutrinos primarily originate from neutron decays,considering the flux parameters measured by IceCube as the *** presence of new physics affecting the neutrino flavor composition can also increase the ***,if ultrahigh-energy neutrinos are dominantly produced from meson decays,it will be statistically difficult for an advanced proposal such as TAMBO to discriminate the Glashow resonance induced byν¯e from the intrinsicντ/ν¯_(τ)*** have identified several limitations for such advanced telescopes,in comparison with the in-ice or in-water telescope,when measuring resonances:(i)a suppressed branching ratio of 11%for the decay W→τν_(τ);(ii)the smearing effect and reduced acceptance because the daughter neutrino takes away(y)∼75%of the energy from the W decay;and(iii)a large attenuation effect for Earth-skimming neutrinos with the resonance.

As one of the most widely used personal protective equipment(PPE),body armors play an important role in protecting the human body from the high-velocity impact of bullets or *** body torso and critical organs of the wear may suffer severe behind-armor blunt trauma(BABT)even though the impactor is stopped by the body armor.A type of novel composite material through incorporating shear stiffening gel(STG)into ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA)foam is developed and used as buffer layers to reduce *** this paper,the protective performance of body armors composed of fabric bulletproof layers and a buffer layer made of foam material is investigated both experimentally and *** effectiveness of STG-modified EVA in damage relief is verified by ballistic *** parallel with the experimental study,numerical simulations are conducted by LS-DYNA®to investigate the dynamic response of each component and capture the key mechanical parameters,which are hardly obtained from field *** fully describe the material behavior under the transient impact,the selected constitutive models take the failure and strain rate effect into consideration.A good agreement between the experimental observations and numerical results is achieved to prove the validity of the modelling *** tests and simulations show that the impact-induced deformation on the human body is significantly reduced by using STG-modified EVA as the buffering *** improvement of protective performance is attributed to better dynamic properties and more outstanding energy absorption capability of the composite foam.

Bismuth-based anode materials have been regarded as promising Li-ion batteries due to their high theoretical ***,their low conductivity and associated volume expansion inhabited their *** this work,Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3)@C composites were successfully synthesized by in situ anchoring of flower-like Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3) nanosheets on a carbon-based substrate via *** unique composited structure of Bi_2O_(2)-CO_(3)@C leads to a stable specific capacity of 547 mAh·g^(-1)after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.1 A·g^(-1).Notably,it demonstrates excellent rate capability with a specific capacity of 210 mAh·g^(-1)at 5 A·g^(-1).After 550 cycles at a current density of 0.5 A·g^(-1),a high reversible capacity of nearly 400 mAh·g^(-1)was ***,in situ X-ray diffraction measurements clearly demonstrate the conversion between Bi and Li_(3)Bi during alloying/dealloying,confirming the good electrochemical reversibility of the materials for Li *** reaction kinetics of Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3)@C were further investigated using galvanostatic intermittent titration ***,Bi_2O_(2)-CO_(3)@C exhibited excellent long-term stability,maintaining its high reversible capacity for over 200 cycles at a current density of 0.5 A·g^(-1)in a full cell configuration using Li_(1.20)Mn_(0.54)Ni_(0.13)Co_(0.13)O_(2) as the cathode *** result further underscores its promising potential for lithium-ion *** work may provide inspiration for the design of alloy-type negative electrode materials for high-performance rechargeable batteries.

Electricity prices have complex features,such as high frequency,multiple seasonality,and *** factors will make the prediction of electricity prices ***,accurate electricity price prediction is important for energy producers and consumers to develop bidding *** improve the accuracy of prediction by using each algorithms’advantages,this paper proposes a hybrid model that uses the Empirical Mode Decomposition(EMD),Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA),and Temporal Convolutional Network(TCN).EMD is used to decompose the electricity prices into low and high frequency *** frequency components are forecasted by the ARIMA model and the high frequency series are predicted by the TCN *** results using the realistic electricity price data from Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland(PJM)electricity markets show that the proposed method has a higher prediction accuracy than other single methods and hybrid methods.
