Optimal retrofitting scenarios of multi-objective energy-efficient historic building under different national goals integrating energy simulation,reduced order modelling and NSgA-II algorithm

Retrofitting a historic building under different national goals involves multiple objectives,constraints,and numerous potential measures and packages,therefore it is time-consuming and challenging during the early design *** study introduces a systematic retrofitting approach that incorporates standard measures for the building envelope(walls,windows,roof),as well as the heating,cooling,and lighting *** retrofit objectives are delineated based on prevailing Chinese *** retrofit measures function as genes to optimize energy-savings,carbon emissions,and net present value(NPV)by employing a log-additive decomposition approach through energy simulation techniques and NSgA-II,yielding 185,163,and 8 ***,a weighted sum method is proposed to derive optimal solutions across multiple *** framework is applied to a courtyard building in Nanjing,China,and the outcomes of the implementation are scrutinized to ascertain the optimal retrofit package under various *** this retrofit,energy consumption can be diminished by up to 63.62%,resulting in an NPV growth of 151.84%,and maximum rate of 60.48%carbon *** three result values not only indicate that the optimal values are achieved in these three aspects of energy saving,carbon reduction and economy,but also show the possibility of possible equilibrium in this multi-objective optimization *** framework proposed in this study effectively addresses the multi-objective optimization challenge in building renovation by employing a reliable optimization algorithm with a computationally efficient reduced-order *** provides valuable insights and recommendations for optimizing energy retrofit strategies and meeting various performance objectives.

Full lifetime demonstration of a Micro-Cathode-Arc thruster evolution characteristics

ground lifetime test is the most crucial experiment to assess the performance,*** flight qualification of electric propulsion,and it can bring new insights for understanding the operation *** work demonstrates a full lifetime test of 140000 cycles on a Micro-Cathode-Arc Thruster(μCAT)with 160μs charging time and 86 mJ charging energy.A four-probe resistivity measurement method is utilized to investigate variations in the conductive film thickness and resistivity throughout the thruster *** film parameters show that the lifetime of theμCAT can be divided into three *** the initial stage,the film thickness decreases by 1.2μm and the resistivity increases significantly due to the high discharge intensity and intense film ablation;In the steady stage,the change of the film thickness is within 5%,and the resistivity of the film increases slowly from 0.050Ω·mm to 0.223Ω·*** the end stage,the resistivity exponentially increases from 0.223Ω·mm to 1.176Ω·mm,with the increase accounting for 81%,ultimately resulting in the failure of the thruster open ***,the evolution of discharge parameters,and the variation of plume parameters are measured throughout the *** discharge characteristics also show significant differences in the duration of voltage and current in these three *** results of plume shape and plasma parameters are also well con-sistent with the discharge parameters and film *** results suggest that,for evaluating the steady stage lifetime of thrusters,the film thickness is the best indicator compared to the variations in resistivity and voltage-current *** the end stage,the plasma plume *** duration,and plume parameters can conveniently and clearly characterize the thruster failures and irregularity.

Excess pore pressure behavior and evolution in deep coalbed methane reservoirs

Deep coalbed methane(DCBM),an unconventional gas reservoir,has undergone significant advancements in recent years,sparking a growing interest in assessing pore pressure dynamics within these *** some production data analysis techniques have been adapted from conventional oil and gas wells,there remains a gap in the understanding of pore pressure generation and evolution,particularly in wells subjected to large-scale hydraulic *** address this gap,a novel technique called excess pore pressure analysis(EPPA)has been introduced to the coal seam gas industry for the first time to our knowledge,which employs dual-phase flow principles based on consolidation *** technique focuses on the generation and dissipation for excess pore-water pressure(EPWP)and excess pore-gas pressure(EPgP)in stimulated deep coal *** have been developed respectively and numerical solutions have been provided using the finite element method(FEM).Application of this model to a representative field example reveals that excess pore pressure arises from rapid loading,with overburden weight transferred under undrained condition due to intense hydraulic fracturing,which significantly redistributes the weight-bearing role from the solid coal structure to the injected fluid and liberated gas within artificial pores over a brief ***,field application indicates that the dissipation of EPWP and EPgP can be actually considered as the process of well production,where methane and water are extracted from deep coalbed methane wells,leading to consolidation for the artificial ***,history matching results demonstrate that the excess-pressure model established in this study provides a better explanation for the declining trends observed in both gas and water production curves,compared to conventional practices in coalbed methane reservoir engineering and petroleum *** research not only enhances the understanding of DCBM re
