Relative peripheral refraction in school children with different refractive errors using a novel multispectral refraction topographer

AIM:To compare relative peripheral refraction(RPR)in Chinese school children with different refractive errors using multispectral refraction topography(MRT).METHODS:A total of 713 eyes of primary school children[172 emmetropia(E),429 low myopia(LM),80 moderate myopia(MM),and 32 low hypermetropia(LH)]aged 10 to 13y were *** were measured using MRT without *** results showed RPR at 0-15°(RPR 0-15),15°-30°(RPR 15-30),and 30°-45°(RPR 30-45)annular in the inferior(RPR-I),superior(RPR-S),nasal(RPR-N),and temporal(RPR-T)*** equivalent(SE)was detected and calculated using an ***:There were significant differences of RPR 15-30 between groups MM[0.02(-0.12;0.18)]and LH[-0.13(-0.36;0.12)](P<0.05),MM and E[-0.06(-0.20;0.10)](P<0.05),and LM[-0.02(-0.15;0.15)]and E(P<0.05).There were also significant differences of RPR 30-45 between groups MM[0.45(0.18;0.74)]and E[0.29(-0.09;0.67)](P<0.05),and LM[0.44(0.14;0.76)]and E(P<0.001).RPR values increased from the hyperopic to medium myopic group in each *** were significant differences of RPR-S between groups MM[-0.02(-0.60;0.30)]and E[-0.44(-0.89;-0.04)](P<0.001),and LM[-0.28(-0.71;0.12)]and E(P<0.05).There were also significant differences of RPR-T between groups MM[0.37(0.21;0.78)]and LH[0.14(-0.52;0.50)](P<0.05),LM[0.41(0.06;0.84)]and LH(P<0.05),and LM and E[0.29(-0.10;0.68),P<0.05].A Spearman’s correlation analysis showed a negative correlation between RPR and SE in the 15°-30°(P=0.005),30°-45°(P<0.05)annular(P=0.002),superior(P<0.001),and temporal(P=0.001)***:Without pupil dilation,values for RPR 15-30,30-45,RPR-S,and T shows significant differences between myopic eyes and emmetropia,and the differences are negatively correlated with SE.

Particles attrition of binary mixtures in the coal-fueled chemical looping system based on fluidized bed

In this work,a reactive air jet attrition device with auto-recording and collection of elutriated fines was *** established insights into the physiochemical interaction and further correlated attrition behaviors between char and oxygen carriers under various operation *** attrition rate increased by over 110% upon the introduced CO_(2),which brought in the significant effect of thermo-chemical stress,similarly in effects of the increased char addition ratio and the decreased sizes of char or hematite in different *** the char-hematite co-attrition process,the elutriated carbon loss of char with poor mechanical strength was found to be over 10%,while the reactive iron loss of hematite was found to be 6.3%,and was enriched in elutriated *** reaction-derived thermochemical stress and the collision-derived mechanical stress jointly controls the particle attrition during the cyclic transformation of oxygen carrier particles in coal-fueled chemical looping fluidization,especially sig-nificant in its reduction stage.

Influences of Graupel Microphysics on CMA-GFS Simulation of Summer Regional Precipitation

The horizontal resolution of global numerical weather prediction models is continuously developing. However, due to the imperfect precipitation simulation/forecast of these models, the demand for considering riming particles in cloud microphysical schemes in these models is increasing. This study employed the latest versions of global atmospheric reanalysis data (ERA5), the satellite retrieval data of the Global Precipitation Observation Program (GPM),and station precipitation observations to explore the impacts of adding graupel to the cloud microphysical scheme in the China Meteorological Administration-Global Forecast System (CMA-GFS) on summer regional precipitation simulations in four Chinese climate zones. The results verify that the new graupel scheme can enable CMA-GFS to decently predict global graupel distribution, especially in tropical and midlatitude regions. The addition of graupel in the cloud microphysics increases the precipitation simulation in North China, while that in Southwest China is weakened and dispersed. Moreover, graupel scheme increases the precipitation simulations of almost all *** increase in light rain is obvious, and the absolute value of heavy rain is strengthened. This may be because graupel quickly melts into rain after falling out of the zero-temperature layer due to its large mass and fast falling speed, increasing surface precipitation. In summary, the addition of graupel in the cloud microphysical scheme can improve CMA-GFS’s underestimation of strong precipitation.

Developing efficient and stable cathodes for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs) is of great importance for the practical ***,we propose a series of Sm-modified Bi_(0.7-x)Sm_xSr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ) perovskites as highly-active catalysts for *** doping can significantly enhance the electrocata lytic activity and chemical stability of *** 600℃,Bi_(0.675)Sm_(0.025)Sr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ)(BSSF25) cathode has been found to be the optimum composition with a polarization resistance of 0.098 Ω cm^2,which is only around 22.8% of Bi_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ)(BSF).A full cell utilizing BSSF25 displays an exceptional output density of 790 mW cm^(-2),which can operate continuously over100 h without obvious *** remarkable electrochemical performance observed can be attributed to the improved O_(2) transport kinetics,superior surface oxygen adsorption capacity,as well as O_(2)p band centers in close proximity to the Fermi ***,larger average bonding energy(ABE) and the presence of highly acidic Bi,Sm,and Fe ions restrict the adsorption of CO_(2) on the cathode surface,resulting in excellent CO_(2) *** work provides valuable guidance for systematic design of efficient and durable catalysts for LT-SOFCs.

A credibility-aware swarm-federated deep learning framework in internet of vehicles

Although Federated Deep Learning(FDL)enables distributed machine learning in the Internet of Vehicles(IoV),it requires multiple clients to upload model parameters,thus still existing unavoidable communication overhead and data privacy *** recently proposed Swarm Learning(SL)provides a decentralized machine learning approach for unit edge computing and blockchain-based coordination.A Swarm-Federated Deep Learning framework in the IoV system(IoV-SFDL)that integrates SL into the FDL framework is proposed in this *** IoV-SFDL organizes vehicles to generate local SL models with adjacent vehicles based on the blockchain empowered SL,then aggregates the global FDL model among different SL groups with a credibility weights prediction *** experimental results show that compared with the baseline frameworks,the proposed IoV-SFDL framework reduces the overhead of client-to-server communication by 16.72%,while the model performance improves by about 5.02%for the same training iterations.

Numerical modeling and experimental investigation of a two-phase sink vortex and its fluid-solid vibration characteristics

A sink vortex is a common physical phenomenon in continuous casting,chemical extraction,water conservancy,and other industrial processes,and often causes damage and loss in ***,the real-time monitoring of the sink vortex state is important for improving industrial production ***,its suction-extraction phenomenon and shock vibration characteristics in the course of its formation are complex mechanical dynamic factors for flow field state *** address this issue,we set up a multi-physics model using the level set method(LSM)for a free sink vortex to study the two-phase interaction ***,a fluid–solid coupling dynamic model was deduced to investigate the shock vibration characteristics and reveal the transition mechanism of the critical flow *** numerical results show that the coupling energy shock induces a pressure oscillation phenomenon,which appears to be a transient enhancement of vibration at the vortex penetration *** central part of the transient enhancement signal is a high-frequency *** on the dynamic coupling model,an experimental observation platform was established to verify the accuracy of the numerical *** water-model experiment results were accordant with the numerical *** above results provide a reference for fluid state recognition and active vortex control for industrial monitoring systems,such as those in aerospace pipe transport,hydropower generation,and microfluidic devices.

It is widely recognized that the development of ZABs is impeded by the kinetic bottleneck of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The application of conformational entropy strategy to oxides often involves introducing multiple elements with different properties,thereby providing outstanding bifunctional catalytic activity for OER/***,the possible underlying catalytic pathways and potential interactions between various components are still poorly *** paper presents an excellent medium-entropy perovskite oxide,Sr(FeCoNiMo)_(1/4)O_(3−δ)(lower overpotential of 301 mV at 10 mA cm^(−2)).Zinc-air batteries employing it as a cathode catalyst demonstrate excellent round-trip efficiency(62%).By combining theoretical calculation with experiments,we aim to establish the link between the electronic structure of perovskite oxides with different elemental compositions and their OER *** reveals that the conformational entropy strategy can simultaneously shift the O 2p-band center and metal d-band center of perovskite oxide towards the vicinity of the Fermi energy level,thereby triggering a more favorable lattice oxygen-participated mechanism(LOM)during the OER *** outcomes of this work provide crucial insights into the role of conformational entropy strategies in oxygen catalysis and offer potential avenues for constructing efficient and stable electrocatalysts.

Abundance and sources of particulate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and aromatic acids at an urban site in central China

We conducted a simultaneous field study of PM_(2.5)-bound particulate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and aromatic acids(AAs)in a polluted city zhengzhou to explore the concentration,sources and potential conversion pathways between PAHs and AAs in different *** average concentrations of PM_(2.5),28PAHs and 8AAs during the sampling period were 77μg/m^(3),75 ng/m^(3),and 283 ng/m^(3),*** concentration of both28PAHs and 8AAs were highest in winter and lowest in summer with ratios of 6.3 and 2.3,*** with 5-7 rings were the main components of PAHs(52%),followed by 4rings PAHs(30%)and 2-3 rings PAHs(18%).According to the source appointment results obtained by positive matrix factorization,the main sources of PAHs were combustion and vehicle emissions,which account for 37%and 34%,respectively.8AAs were divided into three groups,including four benzene dicarboxylic acids(B2CAs),three benzene tricarboxylic acids(B3CAs)and one benzene tetracarboxylic acid(B4CA).And interspecies correlation analysis with PM_(2.5)source markers were used to investigate potential *** acid(o-Ph)was the most abundant specie of 8AAs(157 ng/m^(3),55%of 8AAs),which was well correlated with ***,B3CAs and B4CA were highly correlated with sulfate and weakly correlated with levoglucosan,suggesting that secondary formation was their main *** logical oxidation products of PAHs,o-Ph and B3CAs showed good correlations with a number of PAHs,indicating possible photochemical oxidation pathway by *** addition,O_(3),NO_(2),temperature and relative humidity have positive effects on the secondary formation of B3CAs.

Purification performance on molten steel of novel Al_(2)O_(3)-based ceramic filter prepared from microporous powder and nano-Al_(2)O_(3) powder

Reticulated ceramic foam filters provide an effective way to purify molten steel by removing non-metallic *** proposed a novel strategy to improve the purification performance of Al_(2)O_(3)-based ceramic filters by using microporous corundum-spinel raw materials to replace dense raw *** kinds of Al_(2)O_(3)-based ceramic filters fabricated from dense α-Al_(2)O_(3) micro-powder or microporous corundum-spinel powder were selected to carry out the immersion tests with molten *** the one hand,the higher surface roughness of the filter skeleton prepared from microporous raw materials increased the adsorption capacity of skeleton surface on inclusions in molten *** the other hand,the higher apparent porosity and larger pore size of the filter skeleton were more beneficial to the penetration of molten steel in the micropores of *** reaction process at the solid-liquid interface also improved the wettability of the interface between skeleton and molten steel,resulting in a larger penetration depth and a better adsorption effect on the *** summary,the novel Al_(2)O_(3)-based ceramic filter prepared with microporous corundum-spinel powder and addition of 5 wt.% nano-Al_(2)O_(3) powder reduced the total oxygen content of the steel from 40.2×10^(-4) to 12.7×10^(-4) wt.% by 68.4% and the Al content from 0.46 to 0.18 wt.% by 60.9% after immersion test,presenting the most excellent purification performance on molten steel.
