Background Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a common cause of craniofacial pain. The retrosigmoid approach is usually used to treat TN, but no cases of endoscopic far-lateral supracerebellar infratentorial approach (EF-SCITA) were used to undergo operation for TN.Case presentation Two patients were presented with severe facial pain and preliminary diagnosis was TN. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging revealed that a superior cerebellar artery (SCA) compressed the trigeminal nerve in case 1, and a tumor located in the petrous apex extending into the Meckel’s cave compressed the trigeminal nerve in case 2. Operations were achieved through the EF-SCITA. The pain was totally relieved with no postsurgical complications in both cases.Conclusions We present the first two case reports of EF-SCITA to relieve classical and secondary TN successfully. The EF-SCITA can be a promising approach for treating TN.

To the Editor:Sleeve resection,which is a procedure to resect and reconstruct bronchial and/or pulmonary arteries,is considered a valid therapeutic approach for centrally located lung cancer.With the establishment and development of the comprehensive treatment concept,applying neoadjuvant treatment such as neoadjuvant immunotherapy against centrally located lung cancer with locally advanced staging is effective.Neoadjuvant treatment might reduce the tumor size to increase the chances of complete resection and achieve parenchyma-sparing procedures of sleeve resection.Generally,sleeve resection improves postoperative respiratory function and quality of life,and achieves lower postoperative morbidity and mortality with similar oncological outcomes to pneumonectomy after neoadjuvant treatment.

Effects of geotextile envelope and perforations on the performance of corrugated drain pipes

Subsurface drainage is an important agriculture drainage measure.It is primary to select suitable drain pipes and envelopes for efficient subsurface drainage.And now,corrugated drains and geotextile envelopes are widely used.However,the effects of geotextile envelopes and perforations on the drainage of corrugated drains are not well understood.This study conducted a series of sand tank experiments of steady-state flow with or without geotextile envelopes and with different perforation patterns.The drainage flow and the profile head distributions were analyzed and compared.Furthermore,the applicability of theoretical formulas,which are used to calculate effective radius considering the resistance of different perforation patterns,was evaluated.Results showed that the geotextile envelope weakened the effect of perforations on streamlines,thereby causing the value of effective radiuses to be close to that of the actual radius.The drainage flow of the drain with a geotextile envelope was six times that of the bare drain.The relationship between drainage flow and opening area could be described by inverse proportional function.Meanwhile,the drainage flow was affected by the perforation arrangement.Drain with small longitudinal perforation spacing had a drainage flow of approximately 15%larger than that with wider longitudinal perforation spacing.The bottom perforations drained out first and most,and the drainage flow of the drain opened at the bottom could be 11%higher than that at the top.Low-efficiency perforations cause higher head loss near the pipe wall.Existing formulas of entrance resistance were not suitable for geotextile-wrapped corrugated drains,the effect of geotextile envelope and orifice entrance loss at perforations should be considered.

Advanced molecular dynamics(MD)simulation and infrared(IR)spectroscopy have been widely adopted to reveal the detailed dynamic process of high-speed selective permeability of potassium channels.Yet these MD simulations cannot avoid the choice of empirical molecular force fields and high transmembrane voltages(as driving electric fields for ions)far exceeding physiological levels.Moreover,the IR spectroscopy method usually requires isotope labels for carbonyl groups of the channels,which may change the original permeation process.Here,we build the terahertz(THz)trapped ion model for the selectivity filter(SF)of potassium channels KcsA based on the density functional theory(DFT)calculation of ion potentials.In this model,the zero-point energy of trapped ions and quantum tunneling effect provide the physical basis for near diffusion limited permeation rates of ions and explain the high driving electric field in MD simulations.Quantitative calculations of zero-point energy and tunneling probability show that the quantum effect assisted knock-on mechanism may help to realize the physiological functions of potassium channels.Furthermore,based on the trapped ion model,we calculated the ion decoherence timescale under the influence of protein environmental noise.We use the quantum optics method to describe the interaction between THz waves and the trapped ion.Then the novel THz spectroscopy approaches through the THz resonance fluorescence and the intense field non-resonant effect are presented theoretically.These are expected to be isotope label-free detective methods of the rapid ion permeation dynamics.

Previous video object segmentation approachesmainly focus on simplex solutions linking appearance and motion,limiting effective feature collaboration between these two cues.In this work,we study a novel and efficient full-duplex strategy network(FSNet)to address this issue,by considering a better mutual restraint scheme linking motion and appearance allowing exploitation of cross-modal features from the fusion and decoding stage.Specifically,we introduce a relational cross-attention module(RCAM)to achieve bidirectional message propagation across embedding sub-spaces.To improve the model’s robustness and update inconsistent features from the spatiotemporal embeddings,we adopt a bidirectional purification module after the RCAM.Extensive experiments on five popular benchmarks show that our FSNet is robust to various challenging scenarios(e.g.,motion blur and occlusion),and compares well to leading methods both for video object segmentation and video salient object detection.The project is publicly available at https://***/GewelsJI/FSNet.

宋明道学的“道体”被认为是与“今所谓本体意同”的真正本体论。程颐始以“道体”来解释“子在川上曰”,并以“与道为体”论述“道体”,朱子认为其“体”字为“体质”义,而非体用之体,即非体用论意义上与“用”相对的“本体”义。与此相应,朱子认为《中庸》“体物不遗”的体物也不过是“物之体”的意思。王船山延续了程朱的道体论,亦强调“体”即形体义。然船山基于其气学立场,认为道体无非是道之体,强调“道体自流行于天下”这一宇宙论形态的道体流行观。对船山而言,道之体即阴阳,也就是阴阳为道之体,故道与阴阳(器)构成了世界的整体结构。然而道与器并非分属形上形下,亦非两种“异体”,相反,道器构成“交与为体”的一体关系。重要的是,在道器结构中,器为基体,道为属性,因而只可说“道者器之道”,却不能说器者“道之器”。这是由于世界的实在性唯在于“器”,故曰“天下惟器”。总之,船山哲学通过对宋明道学“道体”论的重新诠释,建构了“形形皆有”“体用胥有”的气实在论,而这一理论特质印证了张岱年所说的中国哲学本体论肯定“万有众象同属实在”的论断。

A Noise Reduction Method for Multiple Signals Combining Computed Order Tracking Based on Chirplet Path Pursuit and Distributed Compressed Sensing

With the development of multi-signal monitoring technology,the research on multiple signal analysis and processing has become a hot subject.Mechanical equipment often works under variable working conditions,and the acquired vibration signals are often non-stationary and nonlinear,which are difficult to be processed by traditional analysis methods.In order to solve the noise reduction problem of multiple signals under variable speed,a COT-DCS method combining the Computed Order Tracking(COT)based on Chirplet Path Pursuit(CPP)and Distributed Compressed Sensing(DCS)is proposed.Firstly,the instantaneous frequency(IF)is extracted by CPP,and the speed is obtained by fitting.Then,the speed is used for equal angle sampling of time-domain signals,and angle-domain signals are obtained by COT without a tachometer to eliminate the nonstationarity,and the angledomain signals are compressed and reconstructed by DCS to achieve noise reduction of multiple signals.The accuracy of the CPP method is verified by simulated,experimental signals and compared with some existing IF extraction methods.The COT method also shows good signal stabilization ability through simulation and experiment.Finally,combined with the comparative test of the other two algorithms and four noise reduction effect indicators,the COT-DCS based on the CPP method combines the advantages of the two algorithms and has better noise reduction effect and stability.It is shown that this method is an effective multi-signal noise reduction method.

Aim To determine the effect of local simvastatin application on the mRNA expression level of transforming growth factor-β1 （TGF-β1）, bone morphogenetic protein-2 （BMP-2） and vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） in the tooth sockets of rat. Methodology Forty-eight male Wistar rats were randomly divided into experimental and control groups （n=24）. Polylactic acid/polyglycolic acid copolymer carriers, with or without simvastatin, were implanted into extraction sockets of right mandibular incisors. The expression of TGF-β1, BMP-2 and VEGF mRNA was determined by in situ hybridization in the tooth extraction socket at five days, one week, two weeks and four weeks after implantation. Results The fusiform stroma cells in the tooth extraction socket began to express TGF-β1, BMP-2 and VEGF mRNA in both experimental and control groups from one week after tooth extraction until the end of experiment. The expression of TGF-131 and BMP-2 mRNA in the experimental group was significantly up-regulated after one, two and four weeks, and expression of VEGF mRNA was significantly increased after one and two weeks compared with that in the control group. Conclusion The findings indicate that local administration of simvastatin can influence alveolar bone remodeling by regulating the expression of a school of growth factors which are crucial to osteogenesis in the tooth extraction socket.

连接节点是保证木结构抗震性能的重要因素,节点的耗能能力是衡量其是否适用于抗震区的重要指标。提出了适用于正交胶合木(cross laminated timber,CLT)结构的新型耗能抗剪连接节点和新型耗能抗拉连接节点,为研究该类连接节点的破坏模式及力学性能,开展了15组低周往复加载试验。试验结果表明,新型耗能连接节点试件延性系数(D)均大于9.0,满足欧洲规范Eurocode 8中对高延性节点D>6的要求,属于高延性范围;新型耗能连接节点工作阶段强度退化系数均低于20%,具备工程适用性;新型耗能连接节点工作阶段等效黏滞阻尼系数为12%~22%,普通商用连接节点等效黏滞阻尼系数为2.5%~15.8%,两类新型耗能连接节点具有较好的耗能能力。
