Genetic and lipidomic analyses reveal the key role of lipid metabolism for cold tolerance in maize

Lipid remodeling is crucial for cold tolerance in ***,the precise alternations of lipidomics during cold responses remain elusive,especially in maize(Zea mays L.).In addition,the key genes responsible for cold tolerance in maize lipid metabolism have not been ***,we integrate lipidomic,transcriptomic,and genetic analysis to determine the profile of lipid remodeling caused by cold *** find that the homeostasis of cellular lipid metabolism is essential for maintaining cold tolerance of ***,we detect 210 lipid species belonging to 13 major classes,covering phospholipids,glycerides,glycolipids,and free fatty *** lipid metabolites undergo specific and selective alterations in response to cold stress,especially mono-/di-unsaturated lysophosphatidic acid,lysophosphatidylcholine,phosphatidylcholine,and phosphatidylinositol,as well as polyunsaturated phosphatidic acid,monogalactosyldiacylglycerol,diacylglycerol,and *** addition,we identify a subset of key enzymes,including ketoacyl-acyl-carrier protein synthase II(KAS II),acyl-carrier protein 2(ACP2),male sterility33(Ms33),and stearoyl-acyl-carrier protein desaturase 2(SAD2)involved in glycerolipid biosynthetic pathways are positive regulators of maize cold *** results reveal a comprehensive lipidomic profile during the cold response of maize and provide genetic resources for enhancing cold tolerance in crops.

Background: The absence of a safe and effective therapy for recurrent spontaneous abortion due to a maternofetal failure in immunological tolerance remains an intractable clinical obstacle for surgeons. Recently, traditional Chinese medicine has become a feasible alternative for certain diseases, including recurrent spontaneous abortion. However, because of the complex composition of the traditional Chinese medicine formula, its action mechanism remains unclear. Methods: We selected two isolated active ingredients (RAMP and baicalin) from the traditional Chinese medicine formula and used an abortion-prone CBA/J × DBA/2 model to simulate human RSA and compared the changes in fetal resorption rate, Treg cell percentage, and relevant cytokines before and after combination therapy. In addition, The mechanisms were preliminarily discussed using in vitro differentiation models. Results: In CBA/J × DBA/2 abortion-prone mice, the combination therapy resulted in a lower embryo resorption rate compared to that obtained with individual delivery of either RAMP or baicalin, thereby playing an embryo-protective role through the increase in Treg cells for the maintenance of maternal-fetal immune tolerance. In in vitro primary cell differentiation experiments, the concentration of Treg cells significantly increased from 11% to 17.9% after the combination therapy compared to that of the single administration group. Conclusion: the synergistic effects of RAMP and baicalin were responsible for Treg differentiation. The present study provides a solid basis for improving the applicability of traditional Chinese herbs in the treatment of recurrent spontaneous abortion.

Genomic analysis provides insights into the westward expansion of domesticated peaches in China

Peach, an economically important model plant of the Rosaceae family, has been domesticated and cultivated in China for approximately5 000 years. The Hexi Corridor, an important corridor connecting east-central China and the Tarim Basin, is the starting point of the Silk Road that links China and the Eurasian region. As a globally distributed fruit tree, the spread of peach was accomplished through historical trade routes in the Hexi Corridor and the Tarim Basin. However, knowledge of peach genetic diversity in these regions remains limited. In this study,we examined the relationships and the spread history of domesticated peaches through sequencing and genomic analysis of 161 peach accessions collected from Northwest China, including 43 from the Hexi Corridor and 104 from the Tarim Basin. The results indicate that peach landraces in the Hexi Corridor and the Tarim Basin are derivatives of peaches from the east and south of China (ESC). Notably, the genetic diversity of accessions from both the Hexi Corridor and the Tarim Basin was lower than that of ESC accessions. Reduction of diversity (ROD) and linkage disequilibrium (LD) analyses detected a genetic bottleneck in peaches from these regions. Additionally, these peaches have undergone varying degrees of selection from natural environment. Moreover, genes responsive to biotic and abiotic stresses were under selection, which could be the result of the climate change of Northwest China after the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). Our findings provide a better understanding of the genetic basis of peach migration in Northwest China. Furthermore, this study expands the available genomic data for peaches and provides critical information for future peach breeding programs.

MRI Findings and Diagnostic Significance of Soft Tissue Schwannomas in the Extremities

Objective:To analyze the MRI features and rare manifestations of schwannomas of the extremities to improve ***:Retrospective analysis of 23 cases of schwannomas in the extremities confirmed by surgical pathology,summarizing its signs,signal characteristics and MRI ***:Among the 23 cases,20 were single lesions,and 3 were multiple lesions,resulting in a total of 28 *** distribution of these lesions included 7 in the thigh,9 in the calves,4 in the armpits,3 in the hips,and 4 each in the upper arms and ***,there was one lesion located in the *** T1-weighted imaging(T1WI),the lesions showed iso-intensity or *** T2-weighted imaging(T2WI),they appeared slightly hyperintense or *** lesions exhibited multiple small vesicle-like higher signals,cystic changes,and fiber spacing on ***,one lesion showed a liquid-liquid ***“target sign”was observed in 18 lesions(64.3%)and“neuropathic signs”were present in six lesions(21.4%).Finally,it was noted that on MRI enhancement,the lesions demonstrated uniform or uneven *** lesions were uniformly or unevenly enhanced on MRI ***:The MRI findings of schwannoma in the extremities exhibit specific *** cystic changes on T2WI also display distinct *** of rare MRI findings,such as cystic changes,liquid-liquid plane and septum,should be emphasized to enhance the accuracy of pre-diagnosing schwannomas.

Clinical Nursing for Patients Undergoing Prone-Position Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy

Objective:To explore effective nursing strategies for patients undergoing prone-position laparoscopic partial ***:A total of 19 patients undergoing prone-position laparoscopic partial nephrectomy were selected,with hospital admission spanning from January 2024 to June *** were randomly divided into the study group(n=10)and the control group(n=9).The control group received basic nursing care,while the study group received comprehensive high-quality nursing *** recovery period,length of hospital stay,complication rates,SCL-90 scores,and nursing quality scores were compared between the two ***:The recovery period and hospital stay were significantly shorter in the study group compared to the control group(P<0.05).The complication rate in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After the nursing intervention,the SCL-90 scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Nursing quality scores were higher in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Comprehensive high-quality nursing intervention for patients undergoing prone-position laparoscopic partial nephrectomy can shorten the recovery period and hospital stay,reduce the complication rate,improve mental health,and enhance nursing quality,making it suitable for wider application in medical institutions.
