A Bayesian approach for integrating multilevel priors and data for aerospace system reliability assessment

This paper investigates Bayesian methods for aerospace system reliability analysis using various sources of test data and expert knowledge at both subsystem and system levels. Four sce- narios based on available information for the priors and test data of a system and/or subsystems are studied using specific Bayesian inference techniques. This paper proposes the Bayesian melding method for integrating subsystem-level priors with system-level priors for both system- and subsystem-level reliability analysis. System and subsystem reliability outcomes are compared under different scenarios. Computational challenges for posterior inferences using the sophisticated Bayesian melding method are addressed using Markov Chain Monte Carlo （MCMC） and adaptive Sam- piing Importance Re-sampling （SIR） methods. A case study with simulation results illustrates the applications of the proposed methods and provides insights for aerospace system reliability analysis using available multilevel information.

Norfloxacin sorption and the factors （soil organic matter （SOM）, pH, and exogenous copper （Cu） influencing the sorption were investigated in a black soil （soil B）, a fluvo-aquic soil （soil F）, and a red soil （soil R）. With increasing norfloxacin concentrations, sorption amount of norfloxacin increased in both the bulk soils and their SOM-removed soils, but the sorption capacity of SOM-removed soils was higher than that of their corresponding bulk soils, indicating that the process of norfloxacin sorption in soil was influenced by the soil properties including SOM. The sorption data in all bulk soils and SOM-removed soils were fitted to Freundlich and Langmuir models. The correlation coefficients suggested that the experimental data fitted better to Freundlich equation than to Langmuir equation. Furthermore, the data from soil F and SOM-removed F could not be described by Langmuir equation. The norfloxacin sorption amount decreased in soil B and soil F, whereas it increased in soil R as solution pH increased. The maximum KD and Koc were achieved in soil R when the equilibrium solution pH was 6. The norfloxacin sorption was also influenced by the exogenous Cu^2＋, which depended on the soil types and Cu^2＋ concentrations. With increasing Cu^2＋ concentrations in solution, generally, sorption amount, KD and Koc for norfloxacin in soils increased and were up to a peak at 100 mg/L Cu^2＋, and then the sorption amount decreased regardless of norfloxacin levels.

Programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand 1(PD-L1)blockade is an important therapeutic strategy for melanoma,despite its low clinical *** is important to identify genes and pathways that may reflect the clinical outcomes of this therapy in *** analyzed clinical dataset GSE96619,which contains clinical information from five melanoma patients before and after anti-PD-1 therapy(five pairs of data).We identified 704 DEGs using these five pairs of data,and then the number of DEGs was narrowed down to 286 in patients who responded to ***,we performed KEGG pathway enrichment and constructed a DEG-associated protein-protein interaction *** muscle actin 2(ACTA2)and tyrosine kinase growth factor receptor(KDR)were identified as the hub genes,which were significantly downregulated in the tumor tissue of the two patients who re-sponded to *** confirm our analysis,we demonstrated similar expression tendency to the clinical data for the two hub genes in a B16F10 subcutaneous xeno-graft *** study demonstrates that ACTA2 and KDR are valuable responsive markers for PD-1/PD-L1 blockade therapy.

Carbon materials are important but find little application in bending components due to their unsatisfy-ing bending strength(300-500 MPa).To fabricate carbon composites of high bending strength is a tough task,even using carbon fibers(CFs)structures as *** we report lamellar carbon com-posites of ultra-high bending strength(>1.2 GPa)produced from CFs cloths coated with nano-diamond(ND)particles by spark plasma sintering(SPS).When NDs are sandwiched between CFs cloths,some ND particles penetrate into interstices between *** the sintering,the ND particles are transformed into graphite onions;this transformation is associated with an active state of carbon atoms participating in the *** a result,the carbon onions strongly bond the CFs together,helping consolidate the com-pacts into strong lamellar carbon composite *** produced graphite onions from the NDs located at crossings of CFs tows form a robust mortise and tenon structure,which helps the bending strength of the lamellar composite from the compact of 40 wt.%NDs exceed 1.2 *** as-prepared compos-ite possesses the highest specific bending strength of all current high temperature structural materials reported so *** work may pave a new way for high performance carbon materials.

Variable universe fuzzy control of walking stability for flying‐walking power line inspection robot based on multi‐work conditions

To address complex work conditions incredibly challenging to the stability of power line inspection robots,we design a walking mechanism and propose a variable universe fuzzy control(VUFC)method based on multi‐work conditions for flying‐walking power line inspection robots(FPliRs).The contributions of this paper are as follows:(1)A flexible pressing component is designed to improve the adaptability of the FPliR to the ground line slope.(2)The influence of multi‐work conditions on the FPliR's walking stability is quantified using three condition parameters(i.e.,slope,slipping degree and swing angle),and their measurement methods are proposed.(3)The VUFC method based on the condition parameters is proposed to improve the walking stability of the ***,the effect of the VUFC method on walking stability of the FPliR is *** experimental results show that the maximum climbing angle of the FPliR reaches 29.1°.Compared with the constant pressing force of 30 N,the average value of slipping degree is 0.93°,increasing by 35%.The maximum and average values of robot's swing angle are reduced by 46%and 54%,*** comparing with fuzzy control,the VUFC can provide a more reasonable pressing force while maintaining the walking stability of the *** proposed walking mechanism and the VUFC method significantly improve the stability of the FPliR,providing a reference for structural designs and stability controls of inspection robots.

Dynamic changes in gut dysbiosis and metabolomic dysregulation are associated with immune-complex glomerulonephritis(ICGN).However,an in-depth study on this topic is currently ***,we report an ICGN model to address this *** was induced via the intravenous injection of cationized bovine serum albumin(c-BSA)into Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats for two weeks,after which mycophenolate mofetil(MMF)and losartan were administered *** and six weeks after ICGN establishment,fecal samples were collected and 16S ribosomal DNA(rDNA)sequencing and untargeted metabolomic were *** microbiota transplantation(FMT)was conducted to determine whether gut normali-zation caused by MMF and losartan contributed to their renal protective effects.A gradual decline in microbial diversity and richness was accompanied by a loss of renal *** 18 genera were found to have significantly different relative abundances between the early and later stages,and Marvinbryantia and Allobaculum were markedly upregulated in both *** metabolomics indicated that the tryptophan metabolism was enhanced in ICGN,characterized by the overproduction of indole and kynurenic acid,while the serotonin pathway was *** of losartan and MMF ameliorated microbial dysbiosis and reduced the accumulation of indoxyl conjugates in *** using feces from animals administered MMF and losartan improved gut dysbiosis by decreasing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes(F/B)ratio but did not improve renal *** findings indicate that ICGN induces serous gut dysbiosis,wherein an altered tryptophan metabolism may contribute to its *** and losartan significantly reversed the gut microbial and metabolomic dysbiosis,which partially contributed to their renoprotective effects.
