Photoinduced palladium-catalyzed 1,3-diene-selective fluoroalkylamination compounds as potential bactericidal agent against Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae

A series of photoinduced palladium-catalyzed 1,3-diene-selective fluoroalkylamination derivatives was rationally synthesized based on diversity-oriented synthesis via cross coupling of 1,3-dienes,amines and fluoroalkyl iodides.The reaction featured good function group tolerance and a broad substrate scope,which could be extended to the late-stage modification of bioactive molecules.Bactericidal activity of all the compounds against Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo)was evaluated.Among them,compound E14 showed significant activity against Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo)with half maximal effective concentration(EC50)value of 6.61μmol/mL.In pot experiments,the results showed that E14 could control rice bacterial blight with protective and curative efficiencies of 37.5%and 63.2%at 200μg/mL,respectively.Additionally,a plausible mechanism for antibacterial behavior of E14 was proposed by electron microscopy,flow cytometry,reactive oxygen species detection,and biofilm assay.In current work,it can promote the development of photoinduced palladium-catalyzed 1,3-diene-selective fluoroalkyl amination compounds as prospective antibacterial agent bearing an intriguing mode of action.

Origin of off-centering effect and the influence on heat transport in thermoelectrics

Recently,off-centering behavior has been discovered in a series of thermoelectric materials.This behavior indicates that the constituent atoms of the lattice displace from their coordination centers,leading to the locally distorted state and local symmetry breaking,while the material still retains its original crystallographic symmetry.This effect has been proved to be the root cause of ultralow thermal conductivity in off-centering materials,and is considered as an effective tool to regulate the thermal conductivity and improve the thermoelectric performance.Herein,we present a collection of recently discovered off-centering compounds,discuss their electronic origins and local coordination structures,and illuminate the underlying mechanism of the off-centering effect on phonon transport and thermal conductivity.This paper presents a comprehensive view of our current understanding to the off-centering effect,and provides a new idea for designing high performance thermoelectrics.

Spacelike Framed Curves with lightlike Components and Singularities of Their Evolutes and Focal Surfaces in Minkowski 3-space

In this paper,we define the evolute and focal surface of a spacelike framed curve with lightlike components in Minkowski 3-space.It is a generalization of the previous results of regular spacelike curves,since singularities are allowed in the original spacelike curves studied by spacelike framed curves with lightlike components.Meanwhile,we show a new geometric invariant to characterise singularities of the focal surface.Then,the classification theorem and recognition theorem for the singularities of the focal surface in generic are also given.

3D Burgers equation is an important model for turbulence.It is natural to expect the long-time behaviour for this hydrodynamics equation.However,there is no result about the long-time behaviour for this deterministic model.Surprisingly,if the system is perturbed by stochastic noise,we establish the existence and uniqueness of invariant measure for 3D stochastic Burgers equation.

Effects of layer interactions on instantaneous stability of finite Stokes flows

The stability analysis of a finite Stokes layer is of practical importance in flow control. In the present work, the instantaneous stability of a finite Stokes layer with layer interactions is studied via a linear stability analysis of the frozen phases of the base flow. The oscillations of two plates can have different velocity amplitudes, initial phases, and frequencies. The effects of the Stokes-layer interactions on the stability when two plates oscillate synchronously are analyzed. The growth rates of two most unstable modes when δ lizing effect on the most unstable mode when δ lizing effect when δ > 0.68. However, the interactions always have a stabilizing effect on the other unstable mode. It is explained that one of the two unstable modes has much higher dissipation than the other one when the Stokes-layer interactions are strong. We also find that the stability of the Stokes layer is closely related to the inflectional points of the base-flow velocity profile. The effects of inconsistent velocity-amplitude, initial phase, and frequency of the oscillations on the stability are analyzed. The energy of the most unstable eigenvector is mainly distributed near the plate of higher velocity amplitude or higher oscillation frequency. The effects of the initial phase difference are complicated because the base-flow velocity is extremely sensitive to the initial phase.

Coated sodium butyrate ameliorates high‑energy and low‑protein diet induced hepatic dysfunction via modulating mitochondrial dynamics, autophagy and apoptosis in laying hens

Background Fatty liver hemorrhagic syndrome(FLHS),a fatty liver disease in laying hens,poses a grave threat to the layer industry,stemming from its ability to trigger an alarming plummet in egg production and usher in acute mortality among laying hens.Increasing evidence suggests that the onset and progression of fatty liver was closely related to mitochondria dysfunction.Sodium butyrate was demonstrated to modulate hepatic lipid metabolism,alle-viate oxidative stress and improve mitochondrial dysfunction in vitro and mice models.Nevertheless,there is limited existing research on coated sodium butyrate(CSB)to prevent FLHS in laying hens,and whether and how CSB exerts the anti-FLHS effect still needs to be explored.In this experiment,the FLHS model was induced by administering a high-energy low-protein(HELP)diet in laying hens.The objective was to investigate the effects of CSB on alleviating FLHS with a focus on the role of CSB in modulating mitochondrial function.Methods A total of 288 healthy 28-week-old Huafeng laying hens were arbitrarily allocated into 4 groups with 6 replicates each,namely,the CON group(normal diet),HELP group(HELP diet),CH500 group(500 mg/kg CSB added to HELP diet)and CH750 group(750 mg/kg CSB added to HELP diet).The duration of the trial encompassed a period of 10 weeks.Results The result revealed that CSB ameliorated the HELP-induced FLHS by improving hepatic steatosis and patho-logical damage,reducing the gene levels of fatty acid synthesis,and promoting the mRNA levels of key enzymes of fatty acid catabolism.CSB reduced oxidative stress induced by the HELP diet,upregulated the activity of GSH-Px and SOD,and decreased the content of MDA and ROS.CSB also mitigated the HELP diet-induced inflammatory response by blocking TNF-α,IL-1β,and F4/80.In addition,dietary CSB supplementation attenuated HELP-induced activation of the mitochondrial unfolded protein response(UPRmt),mitochondrial damage,and decline of ATPase activity.HELP diet decreased the autophagosome formation,and downregulated LC3B

A Hybrid Level Set Optimization Design Method of Functionally Graded Cellular Structures Considering Connectivity

With the continuous advancement in topology optimization and additive manufacturing(AM)technology,the capability to fabricate functionally graded materials and intricate cellular structures with spatially varying microstructures has grown significantly.However,a critical challenge is encountered in the design of these structures–the absence of robust interface connections between adjacent microstructures,potentially resulting in diminished efficiency or macroscopic failure.A Hybrid Level Set Method(HLSM)is proposed,specifically designed to enhance connectivity among non-uniform microstructures,contributing to the design of functionally graded cellular structures.The HLSM introduces a pioneering algorithm for effectively blending heterogeneous microstructure interfaces.Initially,an interpolation algorithm is presented to construct transition microstructures seamlessly connected on both sides.Subsequently,the algorithm enables the morphing of non-uniform unit cells to seamlessly adapt to interconnected adjacent microstructures.The method,seamlessly integrated into a multi-scale topology optimization framework using the level set method,exhibits its efficacy through numerical examples,showcasing its prowess in optimizing 2D and 3D functionally graded materials(FGM)and multi-scale topology optimization.In essence,the pressing issue of interface connections in complex structure design is not only addressed but also a robust methodology is introduced,substantiated by numerical evidence,advancing optimization capabilities in the realm of functionally graded materials and cellular structures.

Nano-effect enhanced cooperative luminescence of Yb^(3+) clusters in bulk materials

In order to improve the multi-ion cooperative transition, we proposed and exploited a novel nanoscale effect, namely the nanoshell effect in bulk materials. Based on the effect, an optimal material structure was designed by coating the surfaces of Ca F_(2):Yb^(3+)micron size particles with ZrO_(2). An about 2 times higher intensity of cooperative luminescence is observed upon laser excitation at 980 nm. Dynamical analysis exhibits that the novel effect plays a key role in improving the performance of cooperative transitions. Our results also suggest that the nanoshell effect in bulk materials is likely to be significant in some special cases, which have not been reported yet in the literature.

Effect of Mn content on microstructure and properties of AlCrCuFeMnx high-entropy alloy

AlCrCuFeMnx(x=0,0.5,1,1.5,and 2)high-entropy alloys were prepared using the vacuum arc melting technology.The microstructure and mechanical properties of AlCrCuFeMnxwere analyzed and tested by XRD,SEM,TEM,nanoindentation,and electronic universal testing.The results indicate that the AlCrCuFeMnxhigh-entropy alloy exhibits a dendritic structure,consisting of dendrites with a BCC structure,interdendrite regions with an FCC structure,and precipitates with an ordered BCC structure that form within the dendrite.Manganese(Mn)has a strong affinity for dendritic,interdendritic,and precipitate structures,allowing it to easily enter these areas.With an increase in Mn content,the size of the precipitated nanoparticles in the dendritic region initially increases and then decreases.Similarly,the area fraction initially decreases and then increases.Additionally,the alloy’s strength and wear resistance decrease,while its plasticity increases.The Al Cr Cu Fe Mn1.5alloy boasts excellent mechanical properties,including a hardness of 360 HV and a wear rate of 2.4×10^(-5)mm^(3)·N^(-1)·mm^(-1).It also exhibits impressive yield strength,compressive strength,and deformation rates of 960 MPa,1,700 MPa,and 27.5%,respectively.
