Optimal operation of integrated energy system including power thermal and gas subsystems

As a form of hybrid multi-energy systems,the integrated energy system contains different forms of energy such as power,thermal,and gas which meet the load of various energy *** mainly on model building and optimal operation of the integrated energy system,in this paper,the dist-flow method is applied to quickly calculate the power flow and the gas system model is built by the analogy of the power system *** addition,the piecewise linearization method is applied to solve the quadratic Weymouth gas flow equation,and the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)method is applied to narrow the optimal results of each subsystem at the coupling *** entire system reaches its optimal operation through multiple *** power-thermal-gas integrated energy system used in the case study includes an IEEE-33 bus power system,a Belgian 20 node natural gas system,and a six node thermal ***-based calculations and comparison of the results under different scenarios prove that the power-thermal-gas integrated energy system enhances the flexibility and stability of the system as well as reducing system operating costs to some extent.

This letter proposes a reliable transfer learning(RTL)method for pre-fault dynamic security assessment(DSA)in power systems to improve DSA performance in the presence of potentially related unknown *** takes individual discrepancies into consideration and can handle unknown faults with incomplete *** experiment results demonstrate high DSA accuracy and computational efficiency of the proposed RTL *** analysis shows RTL can guarantee system performance.

Integration of renewable energy generators has greatly altered both static and dynamic characteristics of the *** with the uncertainties it introduced,the risk of a system being transient instable is significantly *** paper proposes a multi-objective coordinated post-contingency control *** aims to increase post-contingency system security with emergence control(EC)while minimizing the total control *** ECs are adopted in this paper:energy storage systems(ESSs)and emergency load shedding(ELS).ESSs are immediately connected to the network after contingency occurrence to provide both active and reactive power *** will be triggered when the support from ESSs is insufficient to stabilize the system to prevent further deterioration of system *** of the proposed method was evaluated on a modified New England 39-bus benchmark *** results indicate that the proposed method can find solutions to stabilize the system against credible contingencies and optimally balance between system stability and economy.

Photovoltaic(PV)inverter-based volt/var control(VVC)is highly promising to tackle the emerging voltage regulation challenges brought by increasing PV ***,PV inverter operational reliability has arisen as a critical concern for practical VVC *** paper proposes a new PV inverter based VVC optimization model and a Pareto front analysis method for maintaining a satisfactory inverter ***,reliability of the vulnerable DC-link capacitor inside a PV inverter is analyzed,and long-term VVC impact on inverter operational reliability is ***,a multi-objective PV inverter based VVC optimization model is proposed for minimizing both inverter apparent power output and network power loss with a weighting ***,a Pareto front analysis method is developed to visualize the impact of the weighting factor on VVC performance and inverter reliability,thus determining the effective weighting factor to reduce network power loss with expected inverter *** of the proposed VVC optimization model and Pareto front analysis method are verified in a case study.

With the growing adoption of Electrical Vehicles(EVs),it is expected that a large number of on-board Li-ion batteries will be retired from EVs in the near *** batteries will typically retain 80%of their initial capacities and can be recycled as second life batteries(SLBs).Although the capital costs of SLBs are much cheaper,their operational reliability is an important concern since used batteries may suffer from a higher failure *** paper aggregates brand new batteries and SLBs together to improve power system’s operating performance with renewable energy *** the context of a day-ahead and intra-day dispatch framework,a two-stage coordinated optimal scheduling method is ***,the energy cost of brand-new batteries and SLBs is calculated based on detailed battery degradation model,and the reliability of batteries is modeled based on the Weibull ***,Conditional value at risk(CVaR)criterion is applied to evaluate the risk induced by intermittent renewable power output,load demand variation and SLBs failure *** tests demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Continuous monitoring of wind turbine(WT)opera-tion can improve the reliability of the wind turbine and lower the operation and maintenance *** improve the condition mon-itoring(CM)and fault detection performance on WTs,this paper proposes an artificial intelligence-based probabilistic anomaly detection approach that can not only provide a deterministic estimation of the WT condition but also evaluate the uncertainties associated with the *** abnormal WT condition is detected based on the evaluated uncertainties,to provide a noise-free incipient fault *** to the conventional deterministic CM approaches with a residual-based anomaly detection criterion,the proposed probabilistic approach tends to accurately detect the faults earlier,which allows more time for maintenance scheduling to prevent WT component *** early fault detection ability of the proposed approach was verified on an operational WT in China.
