Regulating ion transport behaviors toward dendrite-free potassium metal batteries:recent advances and perspectives

With abundant potassium resources and high capacity,potassium metal batteries(PMBs)present a compelling option for the next generation of energy storage ***,PMBs suffer from an unstable anode interface caused by uncontrolled dendrite growth,which results in unsatisfactory cyclability and safety *** investigations suggest that significant progress has been made in enhancing the interfacial stability of *** various effective strategies for stabilizing interfaces can ultimately be attributed to the regulation of the sluggish ion transfer kinetics and irregular deposition,i.e.,the arrangement of ion transport behaviors at the *** modulation of ions transport rate and ions deposition directions makes it possible to obtain a dendrite-free and smooth deposition ***,the influencing factors and action mechanism of K^(+)interface transport behaviors are discussed to understand the nature of material design for constructing stable anode interfaces,including regulating the solvation and desolvation structures,accelerating K^(+)transport kinetics and controlling K^(+)deposition *** addition,the deficiencies and prospects of the research on electrolyte,separators and designed electrode involved in the manufacturing and testing and ion transport process of PMBs are *** review is expected to provide some possible directions for constructing dendrite-free interfaces in advanced PMBs-related research and offer significant insights for prospective experimental research and commercial applications.

LISR28 Is Involved in Pollen Germination by Affecting Filamentous Actin Dynamics

Alternative splicing plays important roles in gene regulation and contributes to protein complexity. Previous studies suggest that alternative splicing exists in members of the villin/gelsolin/fragmin superfamily. In this study, a ser- ine/argine-rich （SR） protein cDNA with 28kDa protein （LISR28） was isolated from a lily （Lilium Iongiflorum） expression library. Protein domain analysis showed that LISR28 had similar structures to Arabidopsis SR45 （AtSR45）, and LISR28 could complement the phenotype of loss of AtSR45 function. Therefore, overexpression of LISR28 and AtSR45 mutant （atsr45-1） were used in the following experiments. Overexpression of LISR28 in Arabidopsis completely inhibited pollen germina- tion. In contrast, the pollen germination of atsr45-1 was earlier than that of wild-type. In addition, pollen of atsr45-1 contained less F-actin at the corresponding hydration stage during pollen germination compared to that of wild-type. Alternative splicing analysis showed that Arabidopsis villinl （AtVLN1） transcript encoding the full-length protein was increased, and that encoding the truncated protein was decreased in atst45-1. Moreover, the mRNA expression level of other actin-binding proteins （ABPs） abundant in Arabidopsis pollen was also changed in atsr45-1. In conclusion, we hypothesize that LISR28 alters F-actin dynamics probably through its alternative splicing activities to affect directly or indirectly the alternative splicing of AtVLN1 and the expression of different ABPs, which then affects the pollen germination.

Suitability of Stem Diameter Variations as an Indicator of Water Stress of Cotton

Water stress effects on stem diameter variations （SDV） were studied in a pot experiment on cotton （Gossypium hirustum L. Meimian99B）. Water restriction was imposed at the flowering stage and were compared with a well-watered control treatment. The volumetric soil water content （0v） and SDV were monitored continuously. The objective was to determine the feasibility of using the parameters derived from stem diameter measurements, including maximum daily stem shrinkage （MDS）, maximum daily stem diameter （MXSD）, and minimum daily stem diameter （MNSD） as indicators of plant water stress. The different behavior of SDV was founded at different growth stages. At stem-maturing stage, MDS increased and MNSD decreased in deficit-irrigated plants compared with the control plants, therefore, it appeared that MDS and MNSD ccould be used as available indicators of plant water status. At stem growth stage, there were no significant differences in MDS values between treatments but MXSD and MNSD responded sharply to soil water deficits. Thus, for rapidly growing cotton, the course of MXSD or MNSD with time offered a consistent stress indicator. SDV was also closely related to atmospheric factors, solar radiation （Rs） and vapor pressure deficit （VPD） were found to be the predominant factors affecting MDS, followed by the relative humidity （RH）, while air temperature （Ta） and wind velocity had the least effect. A good linear relationship was founded （r^2 = 0.921） between MDS and environmental variables （Rs, VPD, RH, and θv）, which can be used to establish a reference value for detecting plant water stress based on the MDS patterns.

Early Devonian Post-collisional Granitic Magmatism in the North Qilian Orogenic Belt,Western China:Insights into Lithospheric Delamination and Orogenic Collapse

Post-collisional magmatism contains important clues for understanding the reworking and growth of continental crust,as well as lithospheric delamination and orogenic *** Devonian magmatism has been identified in the North Qilian Orogenic Belt(NQOB).This paper reports an integrated study of petrology,whole-rock geochemistry,Sm-Nd isotope and zircon U-Pb dating,as well as Lu-Hf isotopic data,for two Early Devonian intrusive *** Yongchang and Chijin granites yield zircon U-Pb ages of 394-407 Ma and 414 Ma,*** of them are characterized by weakly peraluminous to metaluminous without typical aluminium-rich minerals,LREE-enriched patterns with negative Eu anomalies and a negative correlation between P_(2)O_(5) and SiO_(2) contents,consistent with geochemical features of I-type *** from the studied granites display negative to weak positive ε_(Hf)(t)values(−5.7 to 2.1),which agree well with those of negative ε_(Nd)(t)values(−6.4 to−2.9)for the whole-rock samples,indicating that they were derived from the partial melting of Mesoproterozoic ***,low Sr/Y ratios(1.13-21.28)and high zircon saturation temperatures(745℃ to 839℃,with the majority being>800℃)demonstrated a relatively shallow depth level below the garnet stability field and an additional heat *** together,the Early Devonian granitic magmatism could have been produced by the partial melting of ancient crustal materials heated by mantle-derived magmas at high-temperature and low-pressure conditions during postcollisional extensional *** data obtained in this study,when viewed in conjunction with previous studies,provides more information about the tectonic processes that followed the closure of the North Qilian *** tectonic transition from continental collision to post-collisional delamination could be constrained to~430 Ma,which is provided by the sudden decrease of Sr/Y and La/Yb ratios and an increase in zircon ε_(Hf)(t)values for

Effect of phase transition during roasting of Mountain Pass rare earth concentrate on leaching efficiency of rare earths

To find a greener and more economical approach for treating the Mountain Pass rare earth concentrate(MPREC),a novel "Combination Method",including the processes of oxidizing roasting,HCI leaching and sulfuric acid roasting,is proposed in this *** this paper,the effect of phase transition behavior in hydrochloric acid leaching during oxidative roasting at 450-600℃ was *** roasting,the bastnasite in MPREC is decomposed into CeLa_(2)O_(3)F_(3) and(Ce_(0.33),La_(0.33),Ca_(0.33))O_(1.5).As the CeLa_(2)O_(3)F_(3) phase has the fluorine-fixation effect,the generated CeLa_(2)O_(3)F_(3) phase can not be dissolved by HCI after roasting at 500 and 550℃,but it can be decomposed by HCI after roasting at over 600℃,resulting in the improvement of the leaching rate of total F *** maximum leaching efficiency of rare earth elements(REEs) can reach 70.32 wt% at the roasting temperature of 550℃.After roasting at over 600℃,some F^-ions in the solution combined with RE^(3+) to form REF_(3) precipitate and enter the leaching residue,and the others are in the form of [CeF_(3)]^+ in the leaching solution during leaching,therefore,the leaching efficiency of non-ce rium REEs decreases while that of cerium element *** work provides basic research for optimizing the actual production process of MPREC.

Investigation of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene propellant breaking characteristics and mechanism impacted by submerged cavitation water jet

A submerged cavitation water jet(SCWJ)is an effective method to recycle solid propellant from obsolete solid engines by the breaking *** propellant's breaking modes and mechanical process under SCWJ impact are *** study aims to understand those impact breaking *** hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)propellant was chosen as the research material,and a self-designed test system was used to conduct impact tests at four different working *** high-speed camera characterized crack propagation,and the DIC method calculated strain change during the impact ***,micro and macro fracture morphologies were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM)and computed tomography(CT)*** results reveal that the compressive strain concentration region locates right below the nozzle,and the shear strain region distributes symmetrically with the jet axis,which increases to 4% at first 16th ms,the compressive strain rises to 2% and 6% in the axial and transverse direction,*** two tensile cracks formed first at the compression strain concentrate region,and there generate many shear cracks around the tensile cracks,and those shear cracks that develop and aggregate cause the cracks to become wider and cut through the tensile cracks,forming the tensile-shear cracks and the impact parts eventually *** HTPB propellant forms a breaking hole shaped conical after impact 10 *** mass loss increases by 17 times at maximum,with the working pressure increasing by three ***,the damage value of the breaking hole remaining on the surface increases by 7.8 times while 2.9 times in the depth of the breaking *** breaking efficiency is closely affected by working *** failure modes of HTPB impacted by SCWJ are classified as tensile crack-dominated and tensile-shear crack-dominated damage mechanisms.

Flexible electronics/spintronics attracts researchers’attention for their application potential abroad in wearable devices,healthcare,and other *** devices’performance(speed,energy consumption)is highly dependent on manipulating information bits(spin-orientation in flexible spintronics).In this work,we established an organic photovoltaic(OPV)/ZnO/Pt/Co/Pt heterostructure on flexible PET substrates with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA).Under sunlight illumination,the photoelectrons generated from the OPV layer transfer into the PMA heterostructure,then they reduce the PMA strength by enhancing the interfacial Rashba field *** coercive field(Hc)reduces from 800 Oe to 500 Oe at its maximum,and the magnetization can be switched up and down *** stability of sunlight control of magnetization reversal under various bending conditions is also tested for flexible spintronic ***,the voltage output of sunlight-driven PMA is achieved in our prototype device,exhibiting an excellent angular dependence and opening a door towards solar-driven flexible spintronics with much lower energy consumption.

Sodium gluconate(SG)is reported as an electrolyte additive for rechargeable aqueous zinc *** SG addition is proposed to modulate the nucleation overpotential and plating behaviors of Zn by forming a shielding buffer layer because of the adsorption priority and large steric hindrance effect,which contributes to limited rampant Zn^(2+)diffusion and mitigated hydrogen evolution and *** the introduction of 30 mmol/L SG in 2 mol/L ZnSO_(4)electrolyte,the Zn anode harvests a reversible cycling of 1200 h at 5 mA/cm^(2)and a high average Coulombic efficiency of Zn plating/stripping(99.6%).Full cells coupling Zn anode with V_(2)O_(5)·1.6H_(2)O or polyaniline cathode far surpass the SG additivefree batteries in terms of cycle stability and rate *** work provides an inspiration for design of a high-effective and low-cost electrolyte additive towards Zn-based energy storage devices.

Two-dimensional materials for tunable and nonlinear metaoptics

Metaoptics formed by ultrathin and planar building blocks enable compact and efficient optical devices that manipulate light at the nanoscale. The development of tunable metaoptics holds the promise of miniaturized and efficient optical systems that can dynamically adapt to changing conditions or requirements,propelling innovations in fields ranging from telecommunication and imaging to quantum computing and sensing. Two-dimensional(2D) materials show strong promise in enabling tunable metaoptics due to their exceptional electronic and optical properties from the quantum confinement within the atomically thin layers. In this review, we discuss the recent advancements and challenges of 2D material-based tunable metaoptics in both linear and nonlinear regimes and provide an outlook for prospects in this rapidly advancing area.
