Enriching Context Information for Entity Linking with Web Data

Entity linking(EL)is the task of determining the identity of textual entity mentions given a predefined knowledge base(KB).Plenty of existing efforts have been made on this task using either"local"information(contextual information of the mention in the text),or"global"information(relations among candidate entities).However,either local or global information might be insufficient especially when the given text is *** get richer local and global information for entity linking,we propose to enrich the context information for mentions by getting extra contexts from the web through web search engines(WSE).Based on the intuition above,two novel attempts are *** first one adds web-searched results into an embedding-based method to expand the mention's local information,where we try two different methods to help generate high-quality web contexts:one is to apply the attention mechanism and the other is to use the abstract extraction *** second one uses the web contexts to extend the global information,i.e.,finding and utilizing more extra relevant mentions from the web contexts with a graph-based ***,we combine the two models we propose to use both extended local and global information from the extra web *** empirical study based on six real-world datasets shows that using extra web contexts to extend the local and the global information could effectively improve the F1 score of entity linking.

Pilot multi-axis control behavior modeling of receivers in probe-and-drogue aerial refueling

The probe-and-drogue aerial refueling(PDR)task is seriously disturbed by the wind field,so it is difficult to obtain accurate visual information of the probe and drogue ***,the pilot needs to control the vertical,lateral and forwardbackward positions of the receiver through the stick and throttle lever,and the pitch and roll manipulation actions of the stick should be reasonably *** simulate the behavior of the pilot’s visual perception and the stick manipulation allocation in the PDR task,three modules are designed,including the visual information acquisition module(VIAM),strategy switching module(SSM)and pilot control and action module(CAM).Based on the coherence function analysis of the flight simulation test data,it is proven that the pilot’s multi-axis control behavior can be decoupled,and the flight states to be controlled are ***,the established multi-axis receiver pilot model(EPM)is *** with the motion models of the receiver,the tanker and the refueling equipment,a PDR flight task simulation model is established,and the evaluation indicators for the receiver’s flight performance during the PDR task,such as capture time and settling time,are *** PDR flight simulation model was used to build the ground-based flight simulation test platform,and the flight simulation test of the PDR task was carried out.A comparison between the flight simulation test data and the numerical simulation results shows that the calculation error is less than 10%,which verifies the correctness of the established pilot *** pilot model can be used to evaluate the design scheme of the refueling equipment and the receiver flight control law and provide a theoretical reference for the flight test design of the PDR task.

CLEAN:Frequent Pattern-Based Trajectory Compression and Computation on Road Networks

The volume of trajectory data has become tremendously huge in recent years. How to effectively and efficiently maintain and compute such trajectory data has become a challenging task. In this paper, we propose a trajectory spatial and temporal compression framework, namely CLEAN. The key of spatial compression is to mine meaningful trajectory frequent patterns on road network. By treating the mined patterns as dictionary items, the long trajectories have the chance to be encoded by shorter paths, thus leading to smaller space cost. And an error-bounded temporal compression is carefully designed on top of the identified spatial patterns for much low space cost. Meanwhile, the patterns are also utilized to improve the performance of two trajectory applications, range query and clustering, without decompression overhead. Extensive experiments on real trajectory datasets validate that CLEAN significantly outperforms existing state-of-art approaches in terms of spatial-temporal compression and trajectory applications.

Detecting remotely triggered temporal changes around the Parkfield section of the San Andreas fault

Detecting temporal changes in fault zone properties at seismogenic depth have been a long-sought goal in the seismological community for many decades. Recent studies based on waveform analysis of repeating earthquakes have found clear temporal changes in the shallow crust and around active fault zones associated with the occurrences of large nearby and teleseismic earthquakes. However, repeating earthquakes only occur in certain locations and their occurrence times cannot be controlled, which may result in inadequate sampling of the interested regions or time periods. Recent developments in passive imaging via auto- and cross-correlation of ambient seismic wavefields （e.g., seismic noise, earthquake coda waves） provide an ideal source for continuous monitoring of temporal changes around active fault zones. Here we conduct a systematic search of temporal changes along the Parkfield section of the San Andreas fault by cross-correlating relatively high-frequency （0.4-1.3 Hz） ambient noise signals recorded by 10 borehole stations in the High Resolution Seismic Network. After using stretch/compressed method to measure the delay time and the decorrelation-index between the daily noise cross-correlation functions （NCCFs）, we find clear temporal changes in the median seismic velocity and decorrelation-index associated with the 2004 M6.0 Parkfield earthquake. We also apply the same procedure to the seismic data around five regional/teleseismic events that have triggered non-volcanic tremor in the same region, but failed to find any clear temporal changes in the daily NCCFs. The fact that our current technique can detect temporal changes from the nearby but not regional and teleseismic events, suggests that temporal changes associated with distance sources are very subtle or localized so that they could not be detected within the resolution of the current technique （-0.2%）.

Most of the existing zero-watermark schemes for medical images are only appropriate for a single grayscale *** they protect a large number of medical images,repeating operations will cause a significant amount of time and storage ***,this paper proposes an efficient zero-watermark scheme for multiple color medical images based on quaternion generalized Fourier descriptor(QGFD).Firstly,QGFD is utilized to compute the feature invariants of each color image,then the representative features of each image are selected,stacked,and reshaped to generate a feature matrix,which is then binarized to get a binary feature *** information can be converted into the copyright image by using QR code technology,which contains more ***,the zero-watermark image is constructed by executing the XOR operation on the copyright image and the feature image scrambled by the Cat *** the experiment,different parameters are selected to determine the maximum number of images that the proposed scheme can protect simultaneously while achieving good *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can effectively resist common attacks,geometric attacks and joint attacks,and effectively improve the operation efficiency of the algorithm,thus effectively decreasing the time and storage cost of copyright protection for lots of medical images.

Effects of Temperature on Functional Response of Anagrus nilaparvatae Pang et Wang (Hymenoptera:Mymaridae) on the Eggs of Whitebacked Planthopper,Sogatella furcifera Horvth and Brown Planthopper,Nilaparvata lugens Stl

Understanding the temperature affecting parasitic efficiency is critical to succeed in utilizing parasitoid as natural enemy in pest management. Laboratory studies were carried out to determine the effects of temperature on parasitoid preference of female Anagrus nilaparvatae Pang et Wang （Hymenoptera：Mymaridae） to the eggs of whitebacked planthopper （WBPH）, Sogatella furcifera Horváth and brown planthopper （BPH）, Nilaparvata lugens Stl to build a composite model describing changes in parasitic response along a temperature gradient （18, 22, 26, 30, 34°C）. The results showed that attack responses of A. nilaparvatae on WBPH and BPH were the best described by a Type II functional response. The two parameters, attack rates （a） and handling times （Th）, of A. nilaparvatae to both eggs were influenced by the temperature. The maximum attack rates to WBPH （1.235） and BPH （1.049） were at 26 and 34°C, respectively, and the shortest handling times to WBPH （0.063） and BPH （0.057） were at 30 and 26°C, respectively. However, the optimal temperature for parasitic efficiency of A. nilaparvatae to WBPH and BPH eggs was both at 26°C, which showed that the present microclimate temperature of the habitat in the paddyfield was beneficial to A. nilaparvatae and indicated that parasitic efficiency of A. nilaparvatae would be impaired by global warming.

A pharmacological approach to study the active compounds in Jinshui Huanxian formula in treatment of pulmonary fibrosis

OBJECTIVE:To study the active compounds in Jinshui Huanxian formula in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis with a pharmacological ***:A systems pharmacology model,incorporating active compounds and targets prediction,and herbal-comPound-target-disease network analysis,was established to predict the active substances and therapeutic mechanisms of Jinshui Huanxian *** compounds from the herbs of Jinshui Huanxian formula were obtained from drug database and the ***,we analyzed the potential of herbs by predicting oral bioavailability and drug-likeness *** compounds with oral bioavailability≥ 30% and drug-likeness index ≥ 0.18 were obtained as candidate compounds for further *** then used the systematic drug targeting tool to screen the targets for candidate *** potential targets were projected into Therapeutic Target Database to collect their corresponding *** candidate compounds,potential targets and their related diseases were applied to construct the compound-target and target-disease ***:Totally 136 compounds from Jinshui Huanxian formula and 265 potential targets were ***-target network analysis suggested that different herbal drugs contained in the Jinshui Huanxian formula could regulate these similar targets to probably exert synergistic ***,target proteins were mainly related to oxidoreductase activity,nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate binding,and G-protein coupled amine receptor activity,which might be associated with the therapeutic mechanisms of Jinshui Huanxian *** addition,Jinshui Huanxian formula was probably efficient for many different diseases,such as respiratory tract diseases,neoplasm,nervous system diseases,and cardiovascular diseases,according to target-disease ***:This study may provide a method to explore the potential active compounds in Jinshui Huanxian formula used to treat pulmonary fibrosis.

Sodium Enrichment in Yellow Supergiants:a Perspective from the Uncertainties of Reaction Rates

Sodium overabundance in yellow supergiants has stumped people for more than 20 years. The purpose of this paper is to explore this problem from the perspective of nuclear physics. We investigate carefully the CNO and NeNa cycles that are responsible for sodium production. We investigate some key reactions in the appropriate network. We show whether and how the sodium output can be affected by the rate uncertainties in these reactions. In this way, we evaluate if a reaction is important enough to deserve a better determination of its rate in terrestrial laboratories.

Inertial measurement unit-camera calibration based on incomplete inertial sensor information

This paper is concerned with the problem of estimating the relative orientation between an inertial measurement unit(IMU) and a camera. Unlike most existing IMU-camera calibrations, the main challenge in this paper is that the information output from the IMU is incomplete. For example, only two tilt information can be read from the gravity sensor of a smart phone. Despite incomplete inertial information, there are strong restrictions between the IMU and camera coordinate systems. This paper addresses the incomplete information based IMUcamera calibration problem by exploiting the intrinsic restrictions among the coordinate transformations. First,the IMU transformation between two poses is formulated with the unknown IMU information. Then the defective IMU information is restored using the complementary visual information. Finally, the Levenberg-Marquardt(LM)algorithm is applied to estimate the optimal calibration result in noisy environments. Experiments on both synthetic and real data show the validity and robustness of our algorithm.
