Superhydrophobic surfaces are widely used in many industrial settings, and mainly consist of rough solid protrusions that entrap air to minimize the liquid/solid area. The stability of the superhydrophobic state favors relatively small spacing between protrusions. However, this in turn increases the lateral adhesion force that retards the mobility of drops. Here we propose a novel approach that optimizes both properties simultaneously. Inspired by the hydrophobic leaves of Salvinia molesta and the slippery Nepenthes pitcher plants, we designed a Salvinia-like slippery surface(SSS) consisting of protrusions with slippery heads. We demonstrate that compared to a control surface, the SSS exhibits increased stability against pressure and impact, and enhanced lateral mobility of water drops as well as reduced hydrodynamic drag. We also systematically investigate the wetting dynamics on the SSS. With its easy fabrication and enhanced performance, we envision that SSS will be useful in a variety of fields in industry.

Lipid droplets, which are conserved across almost all species, are cytoplasmic organelles used to store neutral lipids. Identification of lipid droplet regulators will be conducive to resolving obesity and other fat-associated diseases. In this paper, we selected 11 candidates that might be associated with lipid metabolism in Caenorhabditis elegans . Using a BODIPY 493/503-based flow cytometry screen, 6 negative and 3 positive regulators of fat content were identified. We selected one negative regulator of lipid content, C13C4.5 , for future study. C13C4.5 was mainly expressed in the worm intestine. We found that this gene was important for maintaining the metabolism of lipid droplets. Biochemical results revealed that 50% of triacylglycerol (TAG) was lost in C13C4.5 knockout worms. Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) signals in C13C4.5 mutants showed only 49.6% of the fat content in the proximal intestinal region and 86.3% in the distal intestinal region compared with wild type animals. The mean values of lipid droplet size and intensity in C13C4.5 knockout animals were found to be significantly decreased compared with those in wild type worms. The LMP-1-labeled membrane structures in worm intestines were also enlarged in C13C4.5 mutant animals. Finally, fertility defects were found in C13C4.5 ( ok2087 ) mutants. Taken together, these results indicate that C13C4.5 may regulate the fertility of C. elegans by changing the size and fat content of lipid droplets by interfering with lysosomal morphology and function.

Satellite detection of IR precursors using bi-angular advanced along-track scanning radiometer data:a case study of Yushu earthquake

The paper has developed and proposed a syn- thesis analysis method based on the robust satellite data analysis technique （RST） to detect seismic anomalies within the bi-angular advanced along-track scanning ra- diometer （AATSR） gridded brightness temperature （BT） data based on spatial/temporal continuity analysis. The proposed methods have been applied to analyze the Yushu （Qinghai, China） earthquake occurred on 14th April 2010, and a full AATSR data-set of 8 years data from March 2003 to May 2010 with longitude from 91~E to 101°E and latitude from 28°N to 38°N has been analyzed. Combining with the tectonic explanation of spatial and temporal continuity of the abnormal phenomena, the analyzed results indicate that the infrared radiation anomalies detected by the AATSR BT data with nadir view appear and enhance gradually along with the development and occurring of the earthquake, especially along the Ganzi-Yushu fault, Nu River fault and Jiali-Chayu fault; more infrared anomalies along the earthquake fault zone （Lancangjiang fault and Ning Karma Monastery-Deqin fault） are detected using the proposed synthesis analysis method, which can also characterize the activity of seismic faults more precisely.

As the scale of the networks continually expands,the detection of distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks has become increasingly *** propose an intelligent detection model named IGED by using improved generalized entropy and deep neural network(DNN).The initial detection is based on improved generalized entropy to filter out as much normal traffic as possible,thereby reducing data *** the fine detection is based on DNN to perform precise DDoS detection on the filtered suspicious traffic,enhancing the neural network’s generalization *** results show that the proposed method can efficiently distinguish normal traffic from DDoS *** with the benchmark methods,our method reaches 99.9%on low-rate DDoS(LDDoS),flooded DDoS and CICDDoS2019 datasets in terms of both accuracy and efficiency in identifying attack flows while reducing the time by 17%,31%and 8%.

A composite material comprising a carbon layer and spherical carbon/carbon cloth(C-SC/CC)was fabricated using a hydrothermal-pyrolysis method,employing carbon cloth as the substrate and glucose as the carbon *** C-SC/CC electrode was evaluated as an electrocatalytic electrode for hydrogen production by electrolysis of Bunsen reaction *** electrode prepared with 4 g of glucose and annealed at 800°C showed excellent electrocatalytic *** requires only a potential of 185 mV(***)to achieve a current density of 10 mA/***,the electrode demonstrated good stability with a 6%loss in current density after 1000 cycles of scanning from 0.2 V to 1.2 *** results indicate the potential of the SC/CC electrode as an efficient and durable electrocatalyst for the electrolysis of H2SO4 and HI.

The paper gives an analysis on technical characteristics of repair techniques for friction stir welding defects. To overcome the defects,a new repair technique, inertia friction pull plug welding( IFPPW), was researched and its equipment was developed as well. Elementary datum was achieved by investigating the influences of technological parameters on mechanical properties and by analyzing the structural characteristics of repair joint with IFPPW. The study shows that the stability and reliability of welding process of IFPPW can be guaranteed through the constant energy from the *** with the advantages of friction pull plug welding,the IFPPW,free from back anvil,is considered as a promising technique in repair of termination keyhole of bobbin tool friction stir welding and point-like defects in aluminum alloy welding.

Li_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(LLZO)is considered as a promising solid-state electrolyte due to its high ionic conductivity,wide electrochemical window,and excellent electrochemical ***,its application in solid-state lithium metal batteries(SSLMBs)is impeded by the growth of lithium dendrites in LLZO due to some reasons such as its high electronic *** this study,lithium fluoride(LiF)was introduced into Ta-doped LLZO(LLZTO)to modify its grain boundaries to enhance the performance of SSLMBs.A nanoscale LiF layer was uniformly coated on the LLZTO grains,creating a threedimensional continuous electron-blocking network at the grain *** from the electronic insulator LiF and the special structure of the modified LLZTO,the symmetric cells based on LLZO achieved a high critical current density(CCD)of 1.1 mA·cm^(-2)(in capacity-constant mode)and maintained stability over 2000 h at 0.3 mA·cm^(-2).Moreover,the full cells combined with a LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cathode,demonstrated excellent cycling performance,retaining 97.1% of capacity retention after 500 cycles at 0.5 ***,this work provides a facile and effective approach for preparing a modified electrolyte suitable for high-performance SSLMBs.
