The addition of 5-10 mL min^-1 nitrogen to the central channel of plasma in Laser ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry （LA-ICP-MS） increases the sensitivities of Cd by a factor of 3 and decreases oxide interferences by one order of magnitude, which allows the direct analysis of trace levels of Cd in glass samples. This simple method shows a great potential for the direct determination of Cd in various kinds of samples.

The ambient air quality has improved significantly under strict emission controls in Beijing,China over the last *** carbon(BC),as a short-lived climate forcer in ambient aerosols,profoundly impacts the air quality and *** studies have demonstrated a decline in the mass concentration of *** this study,we characterized the chemical compositions and size distributions of BC-containing particles during the cold season of 2022 in Beijing using state-of-the-art instruments capable of exclusively measuring BCcontaining *** optical properties of BC-containing particles were further calculated based on the Mie ***,we compared the properties of BC-containing particles in 2022 with the results of previous *** results showed that the diameters of BC cores became larger while the coating thickness of BC-containing particles became thinner in *** the coating materials,the mass fraction of nitrate increased obviously,and even replaced organic matter as the dominant component during the peak of the pollution *** in chemical compositions and size distributions resulted in lower mass absorption cross-sections(MAC)of BC-containing particles from 10.5±1.1 m^(2)/g in 2016 to 7.3±0.8 m^(2)/g in 2022,reduced by 30.5%.Our results demonstrate the synergistic benefits of air pollution control in improving air quality and mitigating climate ***,the MAC of BC adopted in climate models should vary with the changing air pollution *** study emphasizes that it is imperative to conduct long-term observations of BC-containing particles to better estimate BC’s climate effects.

Hard carbon(HC)is widely used in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),but its performance has always been limited by lowinitial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)and cycling *** compensation agent is a favorable strategy to make up for the loss of active sodium ions consumed *** it lacks agent that effectively decomposes to increase the active sodium ions as well as regulate carbon defects for decreasing the irreversible sodium ions ***,we propose 1,2-dihydroxybenzene Na salt(NaDB)as a cathode compensation agent with high specific capacity(347.9 mAh g^(-1)),lower desodiation potential(2.4–2.8 V)and high utilization(99%).Meanwhile,its byproduct could functionalize HC with more C=O groups and promote its reversible ***,the presodiation hard carbon(pHC)anode exhibits highly reversible capacity of 204.7 mAh g^(-1) with 98%retention at 5 C rate over 1000 ***,with 5 wt%NaDB initially coated on the Na3V2(PO4)3(NVP)cathode,the capacity retention of NVP + NaDB|HC cell could increase from 22%to 89%after 1000 cycles at 1 C *** work provides a new avenue to improve reversible capacity and cycling performance of SIBs through designing functional cathode compensation agent.

The evaluation of toxicity related to polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans(PCDD/Fs)and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls(DL-PCBs)is crucial for a comprehensive risk assessment in real-world exposure *** study employed a controlled feeding experiment to investigate the metabolic effects of dioxin-like compounds(DLCs)on laying hens via feed *** enriched with two concentrations(1.17 and 5.13 pg toxic equivalents(TEQ)/g dry weight(dw))were administered over 14 days,followed by 28 days of clean *** analyses of blood samples revealed significant metabolic variations between PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs exposed groups and controls,reflecting the induced metabolic *** changes were observed in sphingosine,palmitoleic acid,linoleate,linolenic acid,taurocholic acid,indole acrylic acid,and dibutyl phthalate levels,implying possible connections between PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs toxic effects and energy-neuronal imbalances,along with lipid accumulation and anomalous amino acid metabolism,impacting taurine ***,we identified three differential endogenous metabolites—L-tryptophan,indole-3-acetaldehyde,and indole acrylic acid—as potential ligands for the aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR),suggesting their role inmediating PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs *** comprehensive investigation provides novel insights into the metabolic alterations induced by PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs in laying hens,thereby enhancing our ability to assess risks associated with their exposure in human populations.

目的探讨脑梗死后缺血半暗带脑组织中脑红蛋白（NGB）表达与caspase-3、谷氨酸表达的关系及NGB在脑缺血中的表达规律和保护作用的机制。方法制作大鼠局灶性脑缺血模型（MCAO）,随机分为假手术对照组、脑缺血组和单克隆NGB抗体干预组、干预对照组、正常干预对照组,分别在不同时间点断头取脑,制作标本,作脑红蛋白、caspase-3和谷氨酸免疫组化染色。结果（1）与假手术对照组比较,缺血5min亚组可见NGB阳性细胞数开始上升,0.5h达到高峰（P〈0.01）,随后下降,至6h接近假手术组。缺血各组（除24h、72h外）之间两两比较,差异均有统计学意义（P〈0.01）;（2）与假手术对照组比较,缺血0.5h亚组大脑皮质与豆状核区细胞caspase-3阳性表达增多,6～24h达到高峰（P〈0.01）,72h时仍高于假手术对照组,缺血各亚组之间两两比较,差异均有统计学意义（P〈0.01）;（3）与假手术对照组比较,缺血各亚组大脑皮质与豆状核区细胞谷氨酸阳性表达缺血0.5h就已增多,且随时间的变化呈逐步增高的趋势,24～72h达到高峰（P〈0.01）,缺血各亚组之间两两比较,差异均有统计学意义（P〈0.01）;（4）NGB表达与caspase-3、谷氨酸表达均呈负相关关系（分别为r=-0.953,P〈0.01;r=-0.973,P〈0.01）;（5）干预对照组caspase-3、谷氨酸表达均上调（P〈0.01）。结论脑缺血后NGB在缺血周围半暗带区早期表达升高,随后下降,于6h后降至正常,具有调节caspase-3、谷氨酸表达的作用,这是NGB脑保护作用的可能机制。

Preparing free-base porphyrinoid radicals that can function as coordination ligands is a challenging task. Here we report the synthesis of a stable, free-base benzocorrole(BC) radical containing only two inner NH protons via a retro-Diels-Alder conversion. The radical character of BC was fully supported by crystallographic analysis, spectroscopic evidence, and theoretical calculations. This neutral radical ligand allowed easy insertion of Zn(Ⅱ), Ga(Ⅲ), and Pd(Ⅱ) ions to produce radical complexes. All these radicals exhibited luminescence-on responses under weak reducing atmosphere, corresponding to the conversion to their aromatic anions. The red fluorescence was observed for BC and its Zn(Ⅱ) and Ga(Ⅲ) complexes,and the near-infrared phosphorescence(>900 nm) was detected for Pd(Ⅱ) complex at room ***, Ga(Ⅲ) corrole exhibited a variation in fluorescence in response to axial coordination. Our findings provide a promising radical platform for coordination and developing novel functional materials with switchable spin and emission.

Background:Within the tumor microenvironment, survival pressures are prevalent with potent drivers of tumor progression, angiogenesis, and therapeutic resistance. N6-methyladenosine (m6 A) methylation has been recognized as a critical post-transcriptional mechanism regulating various aspects of mRNA metabolism. Understanding the intricate interplay between survival pressures and m6 A modification provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression and highlights the potential for targeting the survival pressures-m6 A axis in HCC diagnosis and *** sources:A literature search was conducted in Pub Med, MEDLINE, and Web of Science for relevant articles published up to April 2024. The keywords used for the search included hepatocellular carcinoma,cellular survival, survival pressure, N6-methyladenosine, tumor microenvironment, stress response, and ***:This review delves into the multifaceted roles of survival pressures and m6 A RNA methylation in HCC, highlighting how survival pressures modulate the m6 A landscape, the impact of m6 A modification on survival pressure-responsive gene expression, and the consequent effects on HCC cell survival,proliferation, metastasis, and resistance to treatment. Furthermore, we explored the therapeutic potential of targeting this crosstalk, proposing strategies that leverage the understanding of survival pressures and m6 A RNA methylation mechanisms to develop novel, and more effective treatments for ***:The interplay between survival pressures and m6 A RNA methylation emerges as a complex regulatory network that influences HCC pathogenesis and progression.
